Hi ed could I just ask please if Celtic claim the title at Kilmarnock will the trophy be presented , and will the team go back to park head to show it off {Ed007's Note - I don't think there will be a presentation, although I can't see anything officially saying whether it will or won't happen.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Trophy will more than likely be presented at one of the home games after the split mate

Agree0 Disagree0

SPL have already said that the trophy will be presented at a selected home game, you can bet it wont be against that lot right enough,wouldnt want them getting upset now would we. Anyubody know when the split fixtures come out

Agree0 Disagree0

If we win it against Killie then the trophy will not be presented on that day. It will be presented at the next home match after the split. I heard on the radio that the post split fixtures will be announced this week.

He's big he's Greek he's getting better every week Samaras, Samaras...... Keep it going bhoys. Bigirishmac

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Great man management from neil lennon. he stuck by him and the results are coming through now. absolutely brilliant comeback this season and i think samaras kind of sums it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

My poor hubby has had so much stick for standing by his opinion that Samaras is a class player. At work he was even called Son of Samaras LOL he has showed them all now

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll tell you what Ive been one of his biggest critics but the two statues Stokes and Hooper should take a leaf out of his book as far as application and effort go. He never hides unlike those two. Any bids in the summer for them and Id say Ta Ta!

Have to say about big Sammy, I told you so!

Got stick a fair while ago when I said he will come good.

Kev88

Believable6 Unbelievable7

I will eat humble pie. I wanted Sammy gone but now I never want him to leave. Absolutely brilliant the way the big mans turned his game around

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone knew Sammy could be amazing but he had too many off days. Glad he's finally found form

Agree0 Disagree0

Sammy still has a way to go before we can class him as a true great.
Yes, he had a good game at weekend but if you watch him closely, when he loses the ball he still has that Med temprament of doing a little showboating instead of getting up off his backside and chasing the person who took the ball away. Never saw Larsson lying about, he got stuck back in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have always said the same, knew he would come good, has the potential to keep getting better! big plus is he loves playing for us and knocked back other offers previously to stay :)

With the league been win ,its hard to keep the momentum going .Maybe been a bit too critical on the lads after a brillant turn round

Believable7 Unbelievable4

I agree the team are getting tired Season almost over and its not been an easy one We forget how much we were behind and then caught up Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon must have had the worst month of his life. not only has he been cheated out of justice yet again by the justice system, but his friend the late paul mcbride qc died suddenly. on top of that he answers a question by the bbc and gets hassled non stop. this is the same bbc that wanted to show the criminal trial live and to top it all off his friend is told he has a very serious type of cancer. not inculding the football asspect of his life its a horrible 4 weeks. everyone should back off lennon hes done an amazing job in the circumstances. ask yourself how you would react in those circumstances

Agree0 Disagree0

i know it wont happen but after league is won at killie i would like to see the under 19 team start the next home game to thank and support them for winning their 3rd title running ,, deep river bhoy

Believable13 Unbelievable13

Great idea especially with our first team looking so flat at the moment, but don't think this could happen as they're not registered in first team squad . do you know if thats correct Ed?.......Stevie {Ed007's Note - Any of the Under 19s can be promoted to the first team squad, Filip Twardzik for example has made a first team appearance but scored for the Under 19s in the cup semi final today.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That you Kenkenif?
Nevis

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather not play the whole team but I think a number of players could do with a rest for reasons of mediocre form and genuine tiredness. Lennon did it today and ended up changing back to Matthews at RB for example.

I think an injection of youth could be a good thing as they'll be hungry to try and impress and would lift the support. McGeouch, Twardzik, Ibrahim and Blackman could be good shouts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Twardzik is registered in first team squad and so is his brother but i don't think any of the other U19's can be picked for first team.........Stevie {Ed007's Note - If that's the case then Dylan McGeouch is the same as well Stevie. I thought it was just the same as England, youth players don't need to be named in the squads but any amount can be brought in as long as they are Under 21 years old.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Your probably right there Ed it's no like Europe where you have to have your players registered to play , as long as they're connected to CFC they can play in SPL. Bring on the U19's Mr Lennon....Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree to an extent, would play izzy, brozek, zaluska, mcgeogh, Blackman tho no I don't think he's good enough tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

What if our first home game is against Gers?

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers won't be here by the time comes for the old firm game lol

Agree0 Disagree0

In the last home game maybe 10 years ago (maybe longer) we played a youth team and the young hsmashed DU 3-0. I dont think any of them got another game!

only passmarks today sammi brown & rogne, loovens is still a bombscare thought we had saw the last of hi, stokes and hooper didn't look interested once again

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Not good enough today bhoys. get your act together. Loovens is an accident waiting to happen. CM

Agree0 Disagree0

Loovens is a bombscare because he hasn't played in 19 games, Stokes & Hooper didn't look interested..... I obviously didn't see Stokes bugger off down the tunnel in a huff after being subbed without looking at the gaffer?! Look mate I'm behind you frustration because god knows i've been proper pissed off watching the last 4 games but we have had a remarkable turnaround since October, it's only normal for the bhoys to be tired. for instance, Ledley looked off the pace today... the bhoys need a rest. If we get what is required next week, I would look at the cup squad for the following week and shake it up a bit, a few of the fringe / young players with experience on the bench.... should it not be going our way at half time stick a couple of the first team guys on after half time to get the confidence flowing. just an opinion.

HH
pfb79

Agree0 Disagree0

So you are saying loovens was not a bombscare before being left out for the last 19 games come of it he has cost us more games and gave away stupid goals since he signed he's been a bombscare since he signed you could count on 1 hand the amount of good games he's had

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper n stokes not at it the day again.thought mulgrew was good again,lustig looked a bit more solid.sammy wiz excellent.hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the assessment of Loovens. He is a player who flatters to deceive.He puts in one good performance out of 6. The rest of the time he is average or just plain p*** poor. He also causes problems for other players at the back. Of course he scores the odd very good goal from corners and this is what covers his woeful defending. I cant wait to see the back of him and his contract is up in any case. Hopefully he will be off soon enough. More worrying for me is KW. I honestly thought this guy could play. Some of his performances have also been woeful of late and I cannot make any more excuses for him, its becoming a habit not a blip in form. Lustig looks accomplished so we do have some positive developments in the squad.Sopot Celt

Have been a critic of Big Samaras on here so it's only fair I give him some well deserved praise as for the past few weeks he has been our best forward while Hooper and Stokes have been off form.
He does have a lot of good things to his game and should get a lot more free kicks than referees reluctantly award and if he could up his goals ratio just a notch or two that would be perfect.
Hope we do the business against Killie this time and shut up the whingers like McCann, Hately and Burley with their snide comments and digs.
By the way does anyone think guys like Andy Walker and Charlie Nicholas are a bitt too critical at times and are over complimentary to the opposition? Is it so they don't appear too biased or are they just hyper critical?

Jungle Jim

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Walker and Nicholas hmmm ....Jury is out ...S*y pay their wages ... Guilty as charges . TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

That's rich, how can Celtic supporters call anyone a whinger, Neil Lennon, his new song is "My way" sing another tune mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

The pair are media lap dogs. Nicholas in particular should be ashamed. I for one have no time for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Charlie Nicholas was one of the best players ever to wear the Hoops. His lifestyle choices and lack of application resulted in him underachieving. He was unlucky with injuries to be fair to him. Unfortunately he is another who sems to have forgotten that Celtic made him, gave him the big stage and nurtured him. He is a media Luvvie with his silly earring and 2000 pound suits. He is an Anglo who has forgotten where he came from. Of course Sly pay his wages and he has to tow the line but for the love of.... why does he appear to be so keen to be critical of the Hoops. Andy Walker is a different type and remember he made his name at Motherwell before coming to us, I genuinely think he is trying to be impartial but it backfires on him, maybe he had a bad experience with some Celtic men... who knows. I do think they both have some decent football knowledge ( compared with the Alan Shearers etc) but Andy seems to lose it a bit when commentating. Lets though remember these guys were good servants and scored some vital goals for us, however its always disappointing when former favourite's and Nicholas was a HUGE favourite appear not to love the club that gave them so much. {Ed001's Note - you have to remember that these guys on TV say what they are told to and tow the line they are told to. Years ago, my uncle was part of the coverage presenting the Man Utd games in the Club World Cup, on some obscure BBC channel, the year they skipped the FA Cup to compete. He was told in no uncertain terms, even though he was a Scouser and desperate to see them lose, in front of the cameras he was to talk them up and make out he was backing them for 'England' etc. It was either that, or never work in TV again. I am quite sure Nicholas got himself in a similar position.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the insight, there's certainly food for thought there. Cheers Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Burley is a cluless w**ker who is anit old firm and really sounds like he has no idea what is going on for most of the game.

Going to get slaughtered for saying this but my player of the year is between bigSam and Brown TTTS

Believable12 Unbelievable16

You trying to sook in with the Ed lol Fair enough I slaughtered Brown earlier in the season and Ed stuck up for him. I'll admit I was wrong now though. {Ed007's Note - Everybody is entitled to their opinion, then you realise I was right anyway :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Why anyone with a brain can see Sammy has stepped up this year, I would agree with you and again today he has dug us out of a hole scored 1 made the other

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest ive always been a big Sam fan since his Man City days so i'm slightly biased in that department and as for brown you have to admire his commitment ,sleeves rolled up type . You'll find imho the ones whom are quick to gang up on Sam and Broon are also the ones that are first to gang up on wee Lenny TTTS {Ed007's Note - That is exactly the reasons I like Brown, every team needs a player like him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sammy for me. He is such a vital part of how we play. He's been collosal for Celtic this season but there are still fans who swear blind that he is crap/lazy/gutless. Mostly the same fans who think the midfield should all be Lubo's with no need for Lennys!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah, us Sammy ,Lenny ,Broony lads are having our day and no critics :-)) .....

Sammy is a class act and has been the difference between draws and wins this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Sammy was defo our best player in Europe this season aswell. Credit to Neil Lennon as well though for playing him out on the wing.

what is it with every 1 ? saying celtics "toothless" and dont want this title , sure they havent been playing as well as they have done over the last few games but the leagues won and i couldnt care if we won it by 20 points or 1 goal back your team !

and ed i know its from another post but do you think theres any truth in the guinness deal ? i personally wouldnt mind renaming celtic park whats your take on it ? {Ed007's Note - No mate I don't think it is true.}

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Didnt think so oh well would have been good but {Ed007's Note - It would have been amazing!}

What is it with Andy Walker? It doesnt matter who we play hes totally anti celtic! He really gets on my t1ts!

Believable14 Unbelievable8

Usual random statement. No fact,no substance, just the usual tosh about everyone having it in for Celtic.
Even "dissing" one of your own now! Stevie-A-Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

No fact no substance? I could give you a dozen instances in that game alone stevie away and pile yer pi5h on your own board had i wanted responses from a knuckle dragger i would have posted on the rangers forum!

Walker,burley,nicholas not one of them have a good word tae say bout us cunnybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie-a -bear 2012 that should read his own pages. john greig voted greatest ever ranger by your fans. what are your fans saying about him now?

Agree0 Disagree0

A bit touchy there bhoyo,calm down now,there's a good lad. Just turn the sound down the next time Andy's on. lol
Stevie-A-Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably just young fans who are over reacting a wee bit to press.
JG is a legend for his service to the club over many years. Okay if further documented evidence is fortcoming,then things change, but like i said, the man's a legend, Innocent till "proven" otherwise. You also have to ask where did AT get all these quotes,E-Mails and documents from?
Stevie-who will continue posting his viewpoint on both sites as long as Ed001 & Ed007 deem it appropriate p£sh A-Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

If AT's report is proven to be true. What difference does it make where he got the info? {Ed007's Note - Everything Alex Thomson has reported so far has been carefully looked at by C4 lawyers and passed as acceptable to broadcast, he has documentation etc to back it up. This was the reason that Friday night's report was nearly delayed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed. I'm not questioning the validity of AT's report, just think it'd be interesting to find out How,Who, and where he got the information. Mr Adam perhaps? Stevie-A-Bear {Ed007's Note - I have no idea, but I would bet his sources are 100x more reliable than the hacks up here have got. Thomson is a well respected journalist Stevie, don't lump him in with guys like Traynor and Odious Creep.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate him almost as much as that pure fan777s burley! He's not that bad but he's getting there !!
Cc

Agree0 Disagree0

Nicholas aside for being a neanderthal. Walker and Burley are just copying Hansen and Shearer in pretending that they as players never made one mistake and that they were better than they actually were. these two had high opinions of themselves when they were players anyway so it doesnt surprise . not bias just arrogance . im sure if you sat through a rangers game the same pish would emerge.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Apr 2012 14:09:37
WTF is going on with this team ..........do they not want to win the league...this is woeful , truly woeful. WHY did Lennon start with a back four that have never played together????? WHY are we being outplayed and outfought by St Johnstone AT HOME ?????? if we don't get our fingers out we are in danger of winning this league by less than 10 points.I honestly can't believe how toothless we have become........
Gerrybhoy

Believable3 Unbelievable15

Good point mate, but i doubt you'll get any genuine thoughts posted on here.
What do you think the problem is?
Are they nervous, unmotivated, just off form,don't want to play for the manager,distracted with situation at Ibrox, maybe not as good as some think? Answers on a rumour site please. lol. Stevie-a-bear

Get a grip gerrbhoy, it's in the bag... nerves poss getting to some of the guys

That was a sorry frist half - yet again! Why are the Bhoys not pumped up for this title and go for the jugular from the whistle? Too many are off the boil since aound the Aberdeen game and with so much to play for and with a very high competition for places - frankly I expect a lot better.
Although Brown and Samaras are really up for it.
Come on Celts!

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has struck a secret multi-million pound deal with Guinness to rename Celtic Park. The deal, which will come into effect from the start of the 2012-13 season, will bring more than £400 million into the club coffers over the next 10 years, a source close to the deal exclusively revealed to The Irish Times this week.
Celtic's home stadium since 1892 will be renamed ‘The Guinness Arena’ from August 2012, according to documents seen by The Irish Times, and then as 'Guinness Glas (Gaelic for 'green') Arena' from 2015. The deal does not initially include shirt sponsorship, although Guinness are believed to have an option to take over shirt sponsorship from from Tennents, when Celtic's deal with the rival brewery firm concludes in 2013, or when the deal is voided by Rangers entering a liquidation process. It could push the total value of the deal to more than £60 million per season.

The historic deal, brokered by Diageo's Dublin-based commercial team and Celtic's financial big-hitters headed by Eric Riley, will be greeted with delight by Celtic's bean counters, while it will likely draw anger from those supporters opposed to changing more than 100 years of Celtic history.

Secret talks with beverages industry giant Diageo, the parent company of the Dublin-based Irish brewers, which turned over more than £13.32 billion in 2011, have been taking place for more than six months the source told The Irish Times. Guinness is said to have day-to-day responsibility for the groundbreaking sponsorship, although Diageo's London-based senior management were required to sign off on the deal, which is believed to be the biggest of its kind in football.

“Make no mistake this is a done deal,” the source, who did not want to be named, told us.

“The Celtic board are obviously delighted with the deal, although they know that it will bring an angry reaction from some fans’ groups. But as Rangers face financial meltdown, Peter Lawwell knows that as long as Neil Lennon keeps delivering results on the pitch, commercial activity will be unaffected by fans’ complaints.

“Guinness is one of the most recognisable brands in in the world, but rarely gets involved in football. This is a strategic move for the company to build a strong tie between two massive worldwide brands and to get involved in the higher echelons of football, whilst also helping in keeping with their Irish identity and roots. Celtic has been tracking this deal for months, perhaps even years. Mr Riley and Mr Lawwell pulled out all the stops to seal it.”

A surprise addition in the summer could be Richard Dunne , his agent has sounded out a move through Wullie mckay ! He fancies a couple of year at celtic wages wont be a problem since hes made enough in the premiership over the years! AS

Believable3 Unbelievable19

Richard Dunne is exactly the type of player we need.

Unfortunately he's been a possible surprise addition for the past 5 years so it's not going to happen. Plus he's pushing retirement age.

Yep would take him in a heart beat
