Celtic manager Neil Lennon is only willing to pay money for a centre back leaving him with no other option but to discount signing targets such as Jordan Rhodes. However, Celtic will look to pick up Manchester City striker John Guidetti on a season-long loan. The Swedish star scored an astounding 20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord last season, making eight assists.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway keen on signing Paddy McCourt. Celtic are open to a deal that would see McCourt swap the Hoops for the Seasiders and see Matt Phillips come the other way plus cash.

No Matt Phillip's please, he's no better than what we have. We need to stop bringing in players than won't make a difference.....I would be happy if we only signed 1 or 2 players of REAL quality

Why do we even connect ourselves with this guy?,does he want us to beg for him to come and play for us,he's had opportunities in the past,so why bother now...
career winding down...possibility of Europe for the the next few seasons ?
I think if your asked once to play for our great club and refuse that should automatically bar you for the future or is it the usual media p!$h

If it was a pay as you play deal then whats to loose, if he can get back to where he was now his injury troubles are behind him then it would be a good move if he can't then it costs next to nothing to find out.

Afternoon Ed, could u provide a list of our possible opposition for tomorrows draw? Cheers.

Believable0

Kevbhoy, we could be going to Moldova, Norway, Finland, Cyprus or Azerbajan..
knowing our luck in draws we will get the
farthest away Azerbajan half way round the world. Our fans would like Cyprus for a nice wee holiday trip. But look out for Molde of Norway, half way through their season and top of their league.
But no matter who we get, we SHOULD? be good enough to beat them as much harder teams are in the draw.
hail hail Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Molde could be a tricky one, they are managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he led them to their first ever league title last year beating off Rosenborg who have won 16 of the last 20 league titles (including 13 in a row between 1992 - 2004). They are a good, solid team and one I would probably rather avoid.}

Hi Ed
do you not think we should make a loan bid for scott dann?
as a think blackburn are willing to let him leave on loan. {Ed007's Note - The buy out clause in his contract is £6 million. West Ham, Sunderland and Southampton are all interested in buying him and today Ajax approached Blackburn about taking him on loan to replace Vertonghen, Blackburn would rather sell the player though.}

Hi Ed, I for one was sorry to see Mark Wilson leave us. Any news on how his career is going JK {Ed007's Note - He hasn't been signed up by anyone yet. A few Championship teams have shown an interest Bristol City seem to be the favourites, he might even be down there training with them already.}

I feel sorry for Mark Wilson, surely would be a Scotland regular if it wasn't for injury, can remember the 3-2 game at Old Trafford, he was outstanding until he went off with a broken foot, never the same after that, felt that when Telfer came on for him our chance was gone that night. johnbhoy79

Big fan of Mark Wilson myself and i wish him all the best with the rest of his career. I would rather we had him than Lustig to be honest. He was a great player when he had a run in team & kept fit as we seen the season before last, Celtic to the core like us aswell. Good luck mark

Celtic and Motherwell will learn their potential opponents in the third qualifying round of the Champions League when the draw is made on Friday.
SPL champions Celtic have been placed in group two for the Champions Path draw and will be seeded.
Their potential opponents have been narrowed down from 20 to ten by UEFA, with the governing body splitting the draw into two pots.
Celtic will face one team from the winners of the ties Ulisses (Armenia) v FC Sheriff (Moldova), Molde FK (Norway) v Ventspils (Latvia), HJK Helsinki (Finland) v KR (Iceland), AEL Limassol (Cyprus) v Linfield (Northern Ireland) or Neftci PFK (Azerbaijan) v FC Zestafoni (Georgia).
The ten teams played their first second qualifying round ties over the last two nights, with second leg games to be played on July 24/25.
Of Celtic’s potential opponents, Sheriff lead Ulisses 1-0, Molde were 3-0 home winners over Ventspils, HJK Helsinki are essentially through after a 7-0 home win over KR, AEL Limassol lead Linfield 3-0 and Neftci are ahead of Zestafoni by the same scoreline.
Motherwell are already aware of their four potential opponents on the Non-Champions Path. As non-seeds, lying in wait for the Steelmen is one from Dynamo Kiev, Panathinaikos, FC Copenhagen or Fenerbahce.

I would hope we get at least a couple in and out before CL quals as we need to progress in Europe this season and give ourselves (and Scottish Football) a boost.
I also want our Europa clubs to do well this month as it
also forces the Ger-nalists and SLY/STV to cover actual football as opposed to propaganda and speculative wish-full thinking for their lost love and brainwashing us with doom and depression.
On another note; are we looking at any additions to the management team? I would like an ex-player to share the load of motivation and set-plays.

Dont know who we are looking at in the transfer front as there has not been much in the media only the odd rumour, but as for the backroom staff I would love to see Lubo back as a coach, not sure what he's doing with himself, if he has his tickets or if he would want to come back, but his experience and footballing brain would be a real asset for our young squad.
