Evening,

Loved the performance from the hoops on Saturday, great response to going one down, and then the game was done from there, efe I thought was great and stokes proved to be inform again.

But just a quick observation that I don't think anyone had mention (excuse my ignorance if I missed it) but rogic for the little time he was on the park was spraying balls over the park quick and sharp I think he'll be a great player for us.

Over was a great performance and a happy Bhoy after the game!

Can we not just use a part of the CL money to keep Wanyama and Forster? I don't unterstand why the hell they want to leave. Hooper would be possible to replace, perhaps Rhodes? I also think we should get a new top striker and focus on getting a new CB but I would like to see more of Gershon for a start.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

We could and should use the CL money to keep them, but we also shouldn't be held to ransom! It's probably just the case these guys want to play at a better level so what's on offer wouldn't make any odds!
It's easy for us to say "stay at Celtic it's all you'll ever need" but were supporters/fans these guys aren't. And I don't blame them playing this dross!

We don't need to spend money on Forster and Wanyama, they are already tied down to long term contracts. Everyone says that we can replace Hooper easily enough but I disagree. He's a top striker on his own or with Stokes. I would love to see Stokes stay longer but I'm sure most people agree that Stokes looks better with Hooper than without.
Lets also not forget that we are not guaranteed UCL next season, To go and spend crazy money would defeat the purpose of what we have been trying to achieve in the last 3 or 4 years. I trust Lennon and Park to continue finding gems for us, Rogic looks like another top find.

if forster goes I think itll be to a top end club tbh, but would anyone take craig gordan?. I dunno wots up with him injury wise atm but if he could prove his fitness i'd snap him up in a min. anybody know wots up with him?. {Ed007's Note - Craig Gordon will probably be forced to retire from playing.}

ED007; I know your up to speed on young players, do we not have a very highly rated young keeper? I seen to remember Woods on Celtic TV praising a young kid. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Robbie Thomson is his name, he is 19 y.o. It was his dad Scott that saved McStay's penalty for Raith Rovers in the '94 League Cup final.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ED; Right that's it SACK HIM NOW! Yea, Woods was really impressed with this kid, and when you think how highly Forster rates Woods I would say he could be trusted. there's also this Swedish kid so it seems Lenny and Park are on the case. green jhedi

Said on here before, sadly Craig is finished.

I was in trellborg last weekend, the locals rate the new keeper highly

Read some talk about likely departees in Summer. Of Wanyama, Hooper and Forrster, I think Forrster is the one we would miss the most and need to drag in top dollar for him. 5 million is the absolute bare minimum he should leave for and even then with a hefty sell-on clause. I realise we are in need of a target man and maybe a midfield creative spark but a decent keeper is what we have been crying out for since Boruc left. Zaluska is not the answer. If all 3 of them go I'd hope that the likes of Ledley, Kayal, and ROgic can do a job in midfield so a keeper and a decent striker coming in would be key. Johnny Russell will be a good addition but keeper wise, I'd hope we either unearth another gem or put big money out on a reasonably established name.

Forster has been a huge part of our Champions Leagus success this season. If he goes then I agree, we should be getting top money for him. The problem with any player these days is that if you SPEND big money on a new player there is no guarantee whatsoever he will do the business.
There are many examples throughout football where a player performs well at a particular club, moves for a decent fee but for some reason can't replicate his previous form for his new club so I'm all for pushing the boat out if need be to keep the likes of Forster, Wanyama, Hooper, Matthews etc. We know they can deliver the goods for us on a consistent basis.
Personal ambition can sometimes be the problem though when a team wants to keep a player. The motivation to play at a higher level is normally a factor for most players (but not always. sometimes it's just money or a desire to be in a particular place) and in these cases there isn't much the club can do.
I have great faith in Lenny & Co. and their ability to find exciting young talent, but for me the time to do that is well in advance of a top player actually leaving. The newer guys always take a bit of time to settle. I appreciate you can't see into a crystal ball and know for sure which players are leaving and when but there is usually a good indication at least a few months before it happens.

Just my opinion folks.

forster is twice the keeper the holy goalie was. england under twenty ones gks go for 5mills so i'd say nearear ten. danny

Surely Forster is less than a year into his contract, there is no need to sell him at this point. Our chances of making the champions league proper will be greater if we keep the best players at the club, I accept Hooper will go and maybe Victor but that should be it. £5/6 million for big Fraser could cost us £20 million if we fail to get through the qualifiers.

I see our Celtic ladies have had the dirty done to them. Kicked out of the cup because we did not have enough players. Scandalous and a kick in the teeth to the ladies who are raising the bar for the game. Despite having players supporting the National side and injuries we get tuffed out. Something far wrong with the system here. (Mrs E, surely you could have filled the gap in their hour of need!)

Have just read the statement from The Celtic trust. As I don't get over to Celtic Park as often as I used to or any where as often as I would like I will not comment on the difference of opinions of different sections of CFC support.
I don't think my recent attendance merits a comment over ST or reg attendees.
I will make a general non footballing comment thou. If there is the slightest doubt that human rights of supporters are been violated by Security at a football match it should be investigated without further delay and those responsible for security at CP stood down until such times the full truth is known. As for harrassment away from the ground the grouping should involve human right minded legal experts to investigate their claims and to highlight such crimes at the highest levels. Police forces are there to enforce the law not to bend and twist it to suit certain agendas. TTTS

"Police forces are there to enforce the law not to bend and twist it to suit certain agendas"

Good post, though at times it seems the role of the police is to cover up, and even facilitate, organised crime. pea

Agree0 Disagree0

Btw they are mean to be police services now, not forces. Strathclyde still call themselves a force. says a lot about their organisational culture. Joe

TTTS if you are a Celtic supporter then you are entitled to an opinion, I don’t go in for all this ST holder or anything to do with attendances.

I very much doubt anyone has had their human rights breached and the information online is very vague about what happened on Saturday therefore its very difficult to give an opinion without all the facts.

If the Police are bending and twisting the law to suit certain agendas, then I would love to know what this agenda is.

I think Celtic should (and may well already) have some kind of liaison/customer service person to answer queries from Celtic Fans & particularly complaints regarding a matchday experience. I do not think this is a job for Neil Lennon, he is a Football Manager.

Celtic are a Football Club, they are not a platform for political views. End of story ~ Mrs E

Why has there been not one article in the Sunday's and even todays papers on the walkout of the GB on Saturday.
Again, are we seeing the MSM in Scotland avoiding reporting on this issue for fear of doing their Job! Any journalist worth their salt would be asking questions to Strathclyde Police, Celtic Football Club and the Green Brigade. If there appears to be a persecution of football fans by an overzealous task force, then it has to be reported on.

Can I add my tuppenceworth to the GB debate.
First of all we know there are good and bad elememts to the GB. They seem to want to challenge everything. But overall I think Celtic Park is poorer when GB are absent.
Now to the police issue, I have no problems with our police looking after our safety, as long as it is even handed. But also GB need to accept some songs and certain behaviour is unacceptable.
I will now be accused of "whataboutery" here.
but our police force must be fair and crack down everywhere without fear or favour.
To my knowledge the police seem to turn a deaf ear to all the old banned songs at ibrox but pursue our GB for any dodgy songs. This is wrong.
Also we have all witnessed the intimidation and threats on certain (mostly TRFC fans websites) but again nothing seems to be done. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Facts are facts though- so many "charges" so little convictions. One judge warned not to present such a case again as it had no hope. The harassment is happening, name dropping relatives names to those known to them etc.

This is a pure and simple fear tactic, the leader of the task force states his occupation as "pest control"

How can this man be trusted to be leading his team objectively considering the obvious contempt and pre judgement?

There are one or two songs people would prefer them not to sing but they are not deemed offensive in the court of law. Clearly not otherwise there would be more convictions.

They do bring attention to themselves, other than the downright stupid uefa banner, I have absolutely no other concerns/complaints about their support.
