I posted on here a few months ago singing the praises of Michu and saying that he would provide the creative spark that we are missing. He cost Swansea £2million! Missed the boat big time

Yeah and i saw the lottery numbers after they had been picked !

They also had Laudrup, whom i think played a big part.

Helsingborgs lost 2-1 today against the league leaders, Bedoya scored their goal. Not sure if they rested players with Tuesday night in mind. Hope all the players who missed out today are good to go on Tuesday night. I have never really been Scott brown's biggest fan but I thought he was excellent against Helsinki over there, think he will be a big player for us in Europe this year. Ian L

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Agree we missed brown the day no urgency in the middle but not the end of the world Tuesday the game
Andybhoy73

Agree0 Disagree0

The team always miss Scott when hes not playing Julieghirl

Agree0 Disagree0

If scottie bhoy is our saviour we have BIG problems! jimthetim.

Agree1 Disagree0

Aye heard they had a 39yr old sub keeper in goals though

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who doesn't regard Brown or see what he brings shouldn't comment on football, simple as that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just hope we can get all our injured players back for tuesday ( Brown included ) as the loss of Wanyama will constitute a huge void .....HH

Evening all, I earlier posted about us looking at zigic and looking at today's game he could do a job for us sammy clearly isn't a target man and all we really need is some one who can head a ball Well in the box and knock downs.
Don't get me wrong zigic is clearly past It but a big cf that will win headers there must be a few on Parks list! I'd love Rhodes but realistically it probs won't happen wee really do miss a target man

Brian

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Totally agree wasn't to sure of zigic but he is exactly what we are missing . Feeling confident ahead of Tuesday we had a bad game today but that will help for Tuesday .
Paddy

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see how any folk could disagree that Zigic would at least bring a different dimension, even from the bench, to the SPL. He's twice the player Sandaza or Kyle were at this level, and they chipped in.

today with our injuries to the two main strikers showed why we need a big physical target man for these types of games, a real playmaker is also missing badly and although i like i like all the mids we have they are all more defensive holding battling types i think we could afford to lose two of them to get a playmaker but who , ki wanyama and kayal woukd probably command the best fee so i think it makes sense to sell two to get in the players we need , as an aside is it just a coincidence that when ledley has a quiet game the whole team does as well ,,,deep river bhoy

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Every game I watch Ledley has a quiet game, not sure what Lennon sees in him. He's the midfielder I'd miss the least

Agree0 Disagree0

The midfielder you would miss the least!? you must be from the dark side, either that or you have never watched a celtic game in your life, idiot.

For the 3rd week in a row, the average crowds for non-old firm SPL games is up on last season's average of 6,261.

1st week was 7,149. 2nd week was 8,077. This week 6,954 for the 4 games, and will increase after derby tomorrow.

Has anyone seen Marko Janko play ? I think he is exactly the type of player we are looking for, esspecially for Europe. Similar to Sutton and JVOH who were important CL players for us. I know he moved to Porto last year but from what I've seen so far he is a bit part player for them. Any chance of signing him ed ? Even on loan until Christmas and Europe is out of the way. Think he only cost 4M which is a bargain these days for a proven goal scorer. I don't think Kenweyne Jones is a bad shout either. What's your thoughts ?

Im i the only peraon that actually thouht we played ok today ? Had at least 5 starting players missing(hooper, stokes, brown, forrest, rogne) and half the squade with tuesday night on their minds yet we still came away with a draw. A draw from a team i feel will be top half of the table this season. 37 games unbeeten now. No matter what leauge you play in thats impressive. They were playing at their best and we were well not playing at ours. Im happy with the draw and now just looking forward to a good performance on tuesday.

Yeah only you matey, i thought we were utterly shambolic, No matter what anyone says we should be beating ross c all day long home or away. Players that dont wanna be here should be told to do one,.,.kbarry

I've got the top paul mcstay wore on his celtic testimonial signed by all the celtic players who played that game. Do u think that will be worth anything, not that I would part with it just wondering, Antony

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I'll give you a tonne for it mate,.,.kbarry

The maestro's top could command a 4 figure sum antony. keep it, frame it and show it off.
i was at the game that night and prob missed half the game cause of the fog :(
frankiebhoy

I think the top will be worth about 400 but I would contact one of the companies that sell this sort of thing online they should be able to give you a proper price.

All credit today must go to Ross County, a well organised team, defended well and held their shape. every one of them worked for each other, and it's no wonder they have went 37 games at home without defeat.
if Brittain's effort went in they would have deserved the victory, but i felt we did enough to earn a draw against a very tight and disciplined team.

cant help but wondering if a few of the lads had the helsingborgs game on their mind though, judging by the lack of commitment in tackles and 50/50 balls....i saw a lot them of pulling out of tackles....not to worry, these things happen with practically a full team of injuries.

taco

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Don't think Ross County were as great as everyone is making out. 99% of their team have experience of playing in the SPL so it's not like they are a bunch of youngsters that have just sprung a surprise. They were able to boss it in the middle of the park today because we had no Scott Brown. He is definitely our key player. All County did was play long balls on top of our defenders. They are nothing special and we shouldn't have to worry about drawing with them, especially when we don't have our captain Broony, star striker Hooper and our bright spark Forrest.

Agree0 Disagree0

No Broony no urgency but some want to sell him. Make's you wonder.
Tambhoy ( original )

Agree0 Disagree0

IVe backed brown through out he is our driving force, any player who had helsingborgs on their minds=very unprofessional,.,.kbarry

well the game has finished and we have the usual doom and gloom merchants on site claiming we need this and that, cant beat diddy teams etc, to me this aint a celtic fan , yes we were lucky today but we had 9 injured , no recognised striker rbs playing rm position and it showed. i listen to the opinions of the older posters on here, gj, timolloy etc. but its these dont leave a name posters that does my head in. these people are never happy unless there moaning about something. being a fan of a team is to back your team win lose or draw. sadly it dont look this way to me , apologies for the rant ed.................bhoywonder {Ed007's Note - Rant away, no worries.}

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I am a an expert at moaning, but as long as we make the champions league,i wont.............. jimthetim........

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a forum site mate, everyones entitled to there opinions, i had a bit of a rant further down about a few things and for you to say people who criticise are not real fans, i find that distasteful at best. I live in ireland and get over to watch celtic 10to15 times a season which costs quite a bit of cash so i findthat a bit disrespectful. Your entitled to your opinion just as everyone else is

Celticthomas

Agree1 Disagree1

Agreed celticthomas the poster states we had 9 players out thats proof we need to sign fresh blood,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly, I always leave my name n even if others don't so what. Everyone on a forum is allowed an opinion unless of course it must agree with your thoughts! Sort of defeats the purpose of site a bit! Secondly, I will complain about today and taking into account the obvious facts of players missing, pen denied, hitting bar twice, we were still poor. Lethargic is an understatement, 10 mins to go n we up tempo, why? In days of old we used to fly out the blocks n were good for a goal in first 10-15 mins, nowadays it's NL giving a rocket at h/t to wake us up. Today also showed we desparately need a top notch c/f. Stokes n hooper out n we've absolutely nothing there, as I keep saying on here the boards lack of investment is holding us back.we'll dismiss this result as a blip cause in the greater scheme of things we'll stroll the league, imagine though if the dead club were still in spl, there wld b plenty on here giving it large about a dreadful 2 pts dropped. Stevo Dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

So because you dont leave a name your a moaner ? and people like you who make up false dummy names makes you special ?? {Ed007's Note - It just means it is easier for people to interact and have their posts/opinions respected, it also lets people back up their opinions and have some healthy debate. The majority of posts with no name just get deleted as most of them are just pointless trolls, like you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Let me firstly apologise for a part of my post that says your not celtic fans, i should have said not acting like celtic fans. celticthomas your right everyone is entitled to his, hers opinion. my opinion is this. we will win the league, yesterday we played players out position, conceded a absolutely fantastic free kick that would have beaten many a keeper better than FF. we didnt play well but still got a draw. i stand by what i said , too many fans moaning about the lack of this signing and that signing. prob the same fans that said we should give youth a chance. now i dont get to a lot of games due to having 3 kids , a mortgage and times are tight. this dosent mean i dont love the hoops just as much as a season ticket holder for 10 yrs. my point is ther e for all to see. back the team win lose or draw.

Forgot to sign post above.............bhoywonder.

I don't care what anyone says but we miss Scott brown in the middle of the park. Big sammy is never a centre forward better out in the wing. To many players never turned up tbh and I'm not to impressed with Lustig but he maybe need more game time. We will play better on tue night

Need to calm down here, we have had many a bad result away from home but missing our 2 top strikers does not help. Got players in the team like commons, izzy, kayal wilson and lusting all trying to find there feet, from injury or poor form. Samaras up front as striker is pointless much better outside or behind the strikers and was not in the game. Forster never had a save to make that I can remember. It's all about Tuesday. cmac

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Commons trying to find his feet ?? He's.been our best player by a mile so far !!

Gary

Commons pretty overrated as far as iam concerned, yeah he scored the tap in equiliser but c'mon get outta charlies way for set peices,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2012 14:10:33
All this talk that we need a CF and a CB but after todays performance its clear we need a playmaker as much as anything. although he scored kris commons was shocking today, anytime he gets the ball the only thing on his mind is to shoot. he is suppose to be a creative midfielder but is creating nothing. also the fact that lennon is constantly changing formation and players around during the match to me shows he has no faith or patience, i like lennon and like his style but he needs to find a formation that works and play players in there strongest position and be patient. moving personnel around 4 or 5 times a game doesnt work, sorry guys but its clear for all to see.

Celticthomas

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Tight wee ground.a few players out,and commons was asked to play up front today.always going to be a tricky game.no one wanting to get injured before helsingborgs game.calm down lads.calm down.and remember this was an spl team we were playing today, not some wee diddy third division outfit.artybhoy

Just wondering Ed or if any one knew if there would be any possibility of a season long loan deal for evans at Man Utd? With all the cover they have, I am sure if wages were not a barrier he would solve all our problems out at CH. Was solid last year with Vidic out. Any thoughts?

Seamus {Ed007's Note - Evans is actually a very important part of the Man Utd squad Seamus. Because he can play at LB as well as in the middle he is back up to Evra after Fabio went out on loan to QPR. Chris Smalling is already out injured for another 6/7 weeks, Vidic is just coming back from a long term injury and Ferdinand has ongoing injury problems so Evans will get plenty of game time this season.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Johnny evans is a rangers man ferguson showed him round ibrokes last time they played them keep him away,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate them just as much as anyone but he would be the answer to our prayers. If he was available Id have him a minute rangers fan or not. Brown was a Rangers fan before he joined? Makes no difference to me if quality player personally.

Kenwyne Jones is available, I have in and the fee is believed to be £3m

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages would be a problem tho. bet he's 60k

Richybhoy

Yeah wages would be huge but i can always hope.

Stoke would want much more than 3 million. Try atleast 6 million

Maybe if it was fantasy football. Was bog Sammy not the last player to sign for us, whose actually played in the premier league? Sb

I've heard that if Celtic get a good result in Sweden, and I mean like a REALLY GOOD result in Sweden i.e. a comfortable victory such as 2-0, the Board have promised Neil Lennon that he will be able to sign players from then until the end of the window.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

And where did you hear this . A scoring draw or a 1-0 win would be REALLY GOOD result..."..DH

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think the board will splash any cash as they don't need to to win this league.
if they had got in early, they could have got Rhodes for 3.5m but after scoring midweekes, that will be up to 5m.

Agree0 Disagree0

So he scored a goal in a meaningless friendly and hes suddenly worth an extra 1.5m? the mind boggles
