Neil Lennon is considering handing Nir Biton his Celtic debut in tomorrow's Champions League tie with AC Milan. The Israeli only joined up with the squad today, and with Joe Ledley's groin injury, and Lennon's preferred option of Charlie Mulgrew at left back over Izaguirre, Biton may fill one of the sitting roles, with Scott Brown likely to fill the other.

I certainly hope not.
Lennon stuffed up the tie in Kazakhstan selecting new recruits who had never played before for CL duties. He blows it with team selection at times. No one should walk into a CL game never having played with the squad before.
I believe the Juve walk over was significantly down to team selection and manager's strategy.

I smell a Sevconian with that reply. Go back to your own page and concentrate on the Ramsdens Cup and leave us to worry about the best team to play against the might of AC Milan in Europe, s premier club competition where newco non entities are not allowed to play. martyc1888

We could play Izzy at LB and Charlie at CM or bring Rogic into the frame. Might also depend on whether Matthews will be available. I was looking forward to seeing him getting a few games at RM in the absence of Forrest so fingers crossed he'll be ok.

Just wondering if you also think the win over barca and getting into last 16 was significantly down to team selection and the managers strategy?
Good luck tomorrow bhoys!

No name poster who was the new players in the Juve game? Chris30
Agree0

I'll be surprised if Biton starts. As good as the lad might be I couldn't envisage him making his debut in such an important game. Ambrose and Van Dijk for me.

The guy isn't telling any lies about shaktar everybody agreed 2 new centre halfs, he didn't say there wer new players in the Juve game, he Thot tactics wer wrong and in the 1rst leg maybe we wer . Leaving a name what difference does it make
Agree0

Far more likely to play Ambrose or Mulgrew there than a lad who ain't played before.
Agree0

It will be mulgrew and brown in the middle tonight.i think stokes will be dropped with sammy through the middle and boerrigter and mathews in wide positions

Agree0

@ mk bhoy, I will be surprised if Stokes gets dropped. Sammy is a UCL player but Stokes is playing well and deserves to stay in the team. He was often dropped by NL in previous campaigns so he needs to be allowed to get a run. Who knows what he can achieve with more confidence. SB

Fair enough I read the post wrong way new faces in Juve game, but that's why new signings were bought to play in Shakter, as for your no name comment if you going to leave posts I don't see the problem of leaving your names, for all I know you could be same person as your no left a name way your post bit sad if it is you, if u want a be negative post for the other side. Chris30

A never said anything negative about you post m8, just that the opening post sounded quite valid to me. Most will agree 2 new centre halves shouldn't have been flung in with no game time 2gether, ambrose probably shouldn't have played home game against Juve.
The no name poster carry on a forget sometimees but a could change ma name everytime

Just spent 10 million there mate no chance they'll give him another ten million joe bhoy

Can't see £10 million to be honest mate, hope iam wrong but can't see it, I think regardless weather we get out group or not we will need signings in January or we really need to start giving the fringe & young lads more games as the squad short in defence & up front in my opinion, would like to see more a Rogic, Fisher, Atajic in spl games, gives guys like Commons, Sammie etc breaks, just my opinion. Chris30

I think this group is much tougher than last season and if we do qualify then NL should get a feckin knighthood never mind £10m.

Can't see Lenny being interested in signing Aiden back, his attitude is not what Lenny wants in his team, I think Aiden has went back the way in recent times and don't think he is what we need, poor tracking back and poor final ball .
Agree0

That would be awesome if they did but I can't see it to be honest! If Lenny gets through this group he should be given £10m for his own pocket lol

A would rather spend the money on getting Ledley, stokes and big Sami to sign new contracts. Danny bhoy

Complete utter BS buddy, why spend £3m on a bench warmer. We never buy in January, mostly announce pre. contracts and loans
Agree0
Disagree0
Aiden ain't no bench warmer. He is a great pleayer. Yes he was a bit immature but hopefully grown up in Russia. His attitude is fine. He just didn't get on with wee chesney. Heard stories how chesney used to treat him. I would have him back for 3 million in a heartbeat {Ed007's Note - Earlier this year McGeady was sent off for violent conduct, he made offensive gestures as he left the field and then smashed up the dressing room. Sounds like he hasn't grown up and that kind of attitude is most definitely not fine.}
Agree0

If he gets through the group stages it will be evidence he doesn't need a penny spent and actually an excuse to sell the top two stars of the competition.

McGeady. no thanks, petulant prima donna. £10M well happy days!

Never happy in a million years bud, plus that's close to bloody blackmail (in a funny kinda way : / )
Plus Ed is it true the sell on clause from aiden is done now or this coming January? I heard he'd go to an EPL club in the last window.
Cheers
Jim the tim 67 {Ed007's Note - The clause is only applicable on any amount over the original fee paid. 99% of sell on clauses are the same. There was interest from Everton during the summer but nothing materialised, I expect he will be sold in January for a nominal fee or he will sign a pre-contract with an EPL side. I am friendly with one of his relatives and she has told me Aiden has no plans to return to CFC at this point in time.}

Hi Ed,
Can we do a predictions poll for the score tomorrow night. Also what about a poll, should Stokes play?
I'm going to go with a nil all draw with Stokes playing.
Thanks {Ed007's Note - I've set them up, please take 2 mins to vote:
Should Anthony Stokes start tomorrow night in the San Siro?

What do you think the score will be tomorrow night v AC Milan?

Iv voted no and I think it's justified as stokes will go missing up front away from home in Europe. He has played well so far but sammy or balde is the wise choice to win the long ball and hold the ball up to bring players from mf into the game
Agree0

I think NL has a system with Commons and Samaras with a 4-4-1-1-for away games in Europe and although Stokes has been very good lately he may be on the bench, depending on how things pan out?
JJ
Agree0

He has never been trusted to lead the line in Europe, I feel he deserves the chance and if he doesn't take it then that's his fault, however I don't see any logic to you putting Balde in ahead of him, we tend not to play the long ball too often, away from home it's all about keeping posession and frustrating the opposition and taking a chance if it comes along and in that regard there is no better finisher at the club at the moment than Stokes. I think he has earned the right to start but I see where you're coming from also
Agree0

Balde before stokes? We haven't really seen him yet, ., .kbarry
Agree1

I said samaras or balde, the big man can hold up play and flick on headers not saying its not a gamble but I'm sure stokes will go missing he doesn't have the presence against a good defence by him self unless we can make the system work where enough players are up to support
SOS BHOY
Agree0

Tbh honest if stokes doesn't get the nod all be disapointed he's earned the right to start after all its dwn to his magnificent bit of play to put wee jamesie in so a hope he starts samaras is no good up himself better out on the wing stokes has earned his place so give him it on the road again joe bhoy
Agree0

Samaras is no good up himself? Who scored the most goals for us in europe? The big man is our best foward in Europe too many short memories and too many excited by a couple of games by stokes! I'm not saying he won't come on to be brilliant this year but he goes missing for too long in games.

I think Stokes deserves it & will start now due to Forrest injury, Sammie on the left, Del Bhoy on the right, Commons just behind Stokes. Prediction from myself- 1-1 Ledley goalscorer. Chris30

Keep samaras up. stokesy chance will come, will make him more determined than ever for spl games. danny.

If Ledley don't play, Mulgrew 1-1. Chris30
Agree0

Start with stokes and see how the game pans out but Sammy must play on the left as he will run riot against them
Agree0
Disagree0
Of course Stokes should play. Commons, Boerrigter and Sami too. With Abate and De Sciglio out we should have a right go at their full backs. So relieved Shaarawy ain't playing too as he's the player I feel really could have tortured us, not to mention Kaka. 1-2 the Hoops, gets me 320 quid if it happens.
