Believable16 Unbelievable5

Playing sammy down the left and commons behind stokes would be better
Mik

Agree2 Disagree0

Its about as strong as we've got right now. Get the job done, get some new faces in the door & onwards & upwards. Hail hail

Agree1 Disagree0

Swap big sammy wae commons and that should be awrite :)

Agree1 Disagree0

Theres a chance forster might not play

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah a thinkk swapping samaras with commons would be more sensible, didn't think ambrose would be included but personally I couldn't really name a stronger team from our squad apart from ledley>Kayal

GreenWiz

Agree1 Disagree0

Wats up wae joe dedley

Agree0 Disagree1

Swap commons and samaras around, and if stokes starts tonight upfront by himself I think he will bang in a hat-rick.

Gazdcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Rogic might get a start

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a massive Celtic 11. All internationalists (or knocked it back lol).
They will walk through Cliftonville. The hype's over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Joe ledley is out with a minor injury, as is matthews van dijk mulgrew and hooper.
Rogic is a shout but I think brown and kayal will get the nod as they are more experienced.

celtic interested in daniel lukasik of legia warsaw?

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Are you asking or telling?

Agree0 Disagree2

One of the redtops did an article titled "5 players who could replace Wanyama" and this lad was mentioned.
So not sure it there's any real substance to the story or just if its just pish papertalk.

Who should we get in to replace hooper?. let's see who us celts want to replace him.

Gazdcelt

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Philipp Hosiner, also wouldn't mind the kid Jeff Hendrick (Derby) for our midfield! Cheers, Paul

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely Neil Lennon has known for a considerable amount of time now, that Hooper was for the off. I would like to think we are making moves at the moment. Well I would like to think so, I don't fancy Doyle though

Big Jason

Agree0 Disagree1

Javier Saviola, Charlie Austin, Nic Bendtner Or Yannick Sabgo all possibilities in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take ALF, Sharp and Austin.

Agree0 Disagree0

Off the top of my head and in no particular order

Le Fondre
Saviola
Marc Janko
Billy Sharp
Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna)

Any of the above would do me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to see us go for Hosiner but I can't see it. Second choice would be Charlie Austin.

Agree1 Disagree0

Rhodes! there's no better replacement. a goal machine like hooper used to be, a celtic fan who would fight for us and a young player who will no doubt end up at one of the top EPL teams. I would invest the money in him straight away. we'll be able to sell him again and it's not like we don't have the money.

Agree2 Disagree0

Philipp Hosiner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we should try and get Danny Graham good striker and seems surplus at sunderland Hull looking to get him on loan surely we could get him before them

Agree0 Disagree0

Without any doubt John Guidetti

Agree1 Disagree0

Think in terms of our budget and salary etc, only Austin is a possibility.

Make a move for him £2.5m which would be accepted due to the Hull scenario, and let our guys do the medical.

Big Jason

Agree0 Disagree0

No two doubts about it, Jordan Rhodes.
KennyBhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

If we won't pay (roughly 3 million) for Hosiner, who's only 24, we'd be as well chucking it. I'd also be looking at the German market for good young players/also Switzerland-far better value. Although I think Hendrick could be potentially a good signing, I'm sure Derby will have a crazy price on his head(like they do with the lad Hughes) - Championship players are well overpriced, generally speaking, for what they have achieved. The English market in general I would be wary about, for eg Henderson at Liverpool. I certainly wouldn't even be looking at someone like Sharp who is very average and also doesn't seem to settle anywhere (outwith Sheffield/Doncaster) Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Finnbogason would be a good option but Heerenveen want €7m, they've also rejected a €2m bid from Augsburg.

Agree0 Disagree0

Le Fondre & Sharp surely worth a punt and within our price scale.

Dannybhoy84

Agree0 Disagree0

Adam Le Fondre. Every day of the week

LM67

Agree0 Disagree0

A goal machine like hooper used to be? Some of our fans are idiots and fickle 31 goals he scored last season and deserves our respect for what he has done for us if he wants to move on then thanks for the service hooper u only get one career as a footballer and its his decision how he wants it to go
SOS BHOY

Agree4 Disagree0

LE FONDRE: Good player. He's not just a goalscorer. He might not bag 30 goals a season but his work ethic would provide goals for others too.
SAVIOLA: His commitment to our cause would concern me. He has an illustrious history and the SPL is definitely a bit of a comedown for him.
JORDAN RHODES: Top class and would be worth every penny we could muster.
HOSINER: I don't know much about him but he seems to have a tremendous record.
CHARLIE AUSTIN: I believe he would be fantastic IF he was free of injury AND if he kept his trousers up. A problem child by all accounts and maybe too big a gamble for us.
JANKO: This guy was a hot tip to join us a couple of seasons ago and would still be a top guy in the SPL.
DOYLE: He doesn't seem to appeal to many of you. I can understand why as he is in some ways similar to Darryl Murphy (who was a flippin disaster!). But he runs all day long and is actually a really sharp finisher in front of goal.
FINBOGASON: Impressive lad. Check him out on YouTube for yourself.

If it were my call and I could only choose one of the above I'd go for Jordan Rhodes. He may be a bit pricey by our standards but I'd choose him because of his attitude. If he came up here with a sense of determination then he'd be truly magnificent. He doesn't bring any problems with him and he seems like a really switched on lad. (Tony Watt, watch and learn kid, watch and learn!).

Matej vydra who was on loan at watford last year. Think he is similar 2 hooper. Dnt know if we would pay what they want but possibly good loan signing?
Craigy

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance of Jordan Rhodes or matej vydra way past the transfer fee celtic would be willing to spend possibly looking at 10 million for each of them. also saviola is a non starter on to much wages. janko is not the same player he was several years ago adam le fondre will end up at west brom. kevin doyle is pish. only realistic one is Austin and with his injury concerns I doubt celtic will take a chance. I think they should try for lyle taylor still a young guy and could score goals for fun at spl level.

Agree0 Disagree0

So u dismiss every player any1 says and then say lyle taylor, GEEZ PEACE

Agree1 Disagree0

Celtic took the chance with big bad John. we should do the same with Austin

Nemanja Nikolic of Videoton would be great replacement for Hooper and would cost less than £1M.
Here's a wee clip of him in action

Bobo

Agree0 Disagree0

Most people seem to want adam le fondre. Would be in our price range and would score goals for fun.

Gazdcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Bobby Zamora?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rhodes or Guidetti are good shouts. Bianchi is a decent cheap option. For me though, Jurgen Locadia would be a class signing. Big strong Dutch youth player had a good season last term.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure the man is already here, when he settles in, he will make GH goal tally look silly you know him he is class, he is Amido Baldé.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can basically rule out all known names except for the ones with poor statistics. One player I think would be great because of his age is pojanpalo at Helsinki. Could get him for 1m easy, he's a clinical finisher, fast, skilled, young. Also illicic and Hernandez at Palermo see like feesable players that we could attract as Palermo have been relegated.
BBBen

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be very surprised if you didn't sign Doyle with what Lennon is reorted as saying down here. Doyle was a cracking player when we signed him. Things have gone wrong big time at Wolves rubbish managers like Saunders, players with bad attitudes like Johnson & ohara. Apparently there has been open war fare on the training ground and I believe it has all affected Doyle. Hopefully a fresh start will see Doyle return, top bloke conducted himself with respect through all the s**t of the last 2 seasons, wish him all the best. Also think you will put a bid in for another Wolves player Griffiths.
Wolves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure the man is already here, when he settles in, he will make GH goal tally look silly you know him he is class, he is Amido Baldé.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aye and Mo Bangura's going to come back fi Sweden and make us forget who Henrik Larsson was/is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jordan Rhodes. Time to show a bit of ambition here. The lad is guaranteed to score tons of goals and I think would really play for the jersey. If we have sold Victor and r soon to sell Gary then why wouldn't we have the money to bring him in? I honestly can't think of anyone (who we have a realistic chance of signing) that I would rather see in the hoops. Alas, I fear we may have missed the boat. Should have signed him last year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Peter odinwengi
Nic Bendtner
David Nugent
Danny graham

All something to prove

Jordan Rhodes but toooooo pricey!

Just read on news now we look at saviola, he didn't mention us by name but he did say he was keeping his options open. Qpr and west ham are also interested. I haven't seen him play for a while but he was class. I also think his experience could hep our younger guys. We need some guys like him. I also think we need an older experienced defender.

Darrenbhoy

Believable7 Unbelievable15

Does anyone know what position he plays now? For some reason I think he was a left sided attacker. Buy not sure.

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not sure we could offer Saviola anywhere near the wages he is probably used to so I believe this is a non starter. Good shout on the experienced defender though I think this is the one department we are lacking in. I still think we are lacking a bit up front aswell apart from stokes i'm not sure if we have another out and out striker and from what I've seen of Balde he is nowhere near the finished article and will be a long term project for neil and his staff.

Celtic have accepted QPR's £5.5 million plus add-ons bid for Gary Hooper. The Englishman and his representatives will travel to London on Tuesday to finalise the deal which will see the striker move to the nPower Championship favourites.

Believable18 Unbelievable11

Neil Lennon was at the Cork City v Burnley game last night. £4million bid lodged. Subject to Gary Hooper completing deal with QPR.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this is true and we can get it finished. Its a shame he can't have his last fling on Wednesday night but when your heart ain't in it your heart ain't in it. Good luck Gary and thank you for your efforts. We will remember you fondly. You've been a real star. It's just a shame our club didn't think about getting someone else in for you before now!

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

With hindsight we should have been doing a hard marketing job on him for the last year, drumming up interest, rather than putting energy into trying to get him to stay.
It's been a drawn out saga and he needs now to move on soonest to get some pre season settling somewhere and for us to get a suitable replacement in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could do with a replacement ASAP right enough.

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm starting to get that feeling you get when you know something is totally inevitable.
Expect Hooper to sign for QPR by close of play on Wednesday. Not a cast iron fact, just a hunch. But I feels it in me bones bhoys!

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ker-ching if that is true £££'s good stuff glad this is over for both the club and the player. Good luck to him and thanks for the goals. Let's use the cash frivolously as splurge it all on one player! HH ShottsBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

From winners medals and Champions league football to QPR in the Championship? Gary your having a f*ckin bubble son. England call up? Delusional lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Bye Bye Hooper, enjoy the Championship, that will help you into the international set up, not. the same as 99.9% of players nowadays, money is king

Agree1 Disagree0

He is going to play for qpr to get a england call up? its never going to happen playing in the championship, all he wants is money money money. Bye hooper and thanks for the goals. Gazdcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Got a strange feeling that he could still sign for norwich, meaning hooper could still reject qpr.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2013 21:43:24
Ed any truth in reading offering pavel for hooper? That's what ed 029 sad on mAin Paige? If so thank god we knocked it back!

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - It was a rumour. I don't believe it for a minute they even made the offer.}
