snodgrass will be a celtic player by next friday (24th). NL enquired about danny ings but price is far too high (6m+). armstrong of dundee utd is another who will sign but Celtic must wait till the summer for him.

Believable13 Unbelievable31

Snodgrass and Ings completely different players so why the comparison?
Do we need Snodgrass in m/f?
Ings - £6m quoted for a championship player, just shows how prices have inflated since Hooper came 3 yrs ago.
if we ever were going to spend £5-6m on a striker then England not where I'd be looking maybe with the exception of Rhodes

Agree0 Disagree0

We wouldn't pay good money for snodgrass then 6 million on a striker. I know we have money but won't happen. Snodgrass will do fine

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't think snodgrass is good enough or the right fit with us.

Is snood grass not a creative attacking midfielder? A position were crying out for. Seems to be doing well for Norwich didn't think they would let him go. If it's true he a celtic fan would give his all you would think

Agree0 Disagree0

Doc
Right i'm acc being serious here how many midfielders do we want We've Brown Ledley Johansen Kayal Lennon has been playing Commons in the attacking Mid role plus we have Biton Rogic Young Dylan McGeouch Remember he can only play 2 CM at a time and you want him to add another player in Snodgrass? i'm all for competion for places but with the way things are going we could have a squad of just CM players

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to go against the grain here too, I agree with monkey. I think he could be good enough. He certainly creates chances. He'd certainly wear his heart on his sleeve as well. Doc, just pause for a minute and think about the team. Firstly, snodgrass plays best in advanced mid/wide areas. With Snodgrass and the player Johansen seems to be, there'll be much more balls into the box to attack and that benefits any striker, not least big Amido. The solution to our striking 'problems' might be found in midfield. Na who am I kidding, we need a 10m forward.

A think its fair to say some of the midfielders won't be staying to much longer, commons and rogic and mcgeouch are out attacking midfielders and only commons gets a game don't hold out much hope for the other 2

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is a step up from what we have currently. He is a top player and he would fit in really well. I think we are going to see NL build his 3rd team, with some of the current squad leaving.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance of this happening, from playing Chelsea, man u, city and arsenal to play Motherwell and Ross county? No chance! He's far to good to be playing SPL football

Agree0 Disagree0

He's far too good to be playing for a sinking ship too.

Neil Lennon maintained before the transfer window that he wanted to add to the British core of the squad. Currently being strongly linked with Jordan Rhodes and Robert Snodgrass.

{Ed007's Note - Snodgrass has made it clear to CFC through a third party that he would welcome the move. It will come down to a fee being agreed with Norwich.}

Snodgrass AND Rhodes sounds too good to be true. But that would certainly give the support a lift after the CL flop, get the attendances up, improve the football and give the squad a boost.
Oooooft! Getting carried away there.

Lennon in the evening times today saying he's got 6million for two players. Rhodes last transfer was for 8million and how much snodgrass? 5-6million? would be good additions but get real

Just heard NL interview today saying he was still looking for a Striker and an Att mid in this window and was hopefully that Ledley would extend his contract. Was wondering then why Johanson was bought. Also heard the club are actively try to sell Kayal in this window or if not defo the summer. Any one heard like wise

Believable12 Unbelievable7

Heard they were tryin to sell him at the start of the season mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kayal will not be a Celtic player at the start of next season. He will stay this month as Rogic is going out on loan to the Australian league. Things just haven't quite worked out for Kayal. NL wants at least one more player this window with a few more of the Bhoys going out on loan. Striker is the priority, although if the right deal comes up for an attacking midfielder/left back/goalkeeper, then Celtic will pursue it.

~seamus~

Agree0 Disagree1

Remember Kayal kept Wanyama out of the team on most occasions until Elbows McCulloch nearly halfed him in two, In saying that he's not been the same player since he came back, punt him.

Alright Bhoys!

Anyone heard that we are trying to hijack Arsenals move for Ciprian Marica from Getafe? I'm not sure fee's or wages, but a few fellow tims I work with mentioned it coming from Parkhead! Who knows! Welcome to our new midfielder. does this mean deadly is on his way?

Say hello to 10 in a row - No Excuses!

@BigAmidoBalde: Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has cooled speculation of a swap deal with Celtic involving Callum McGregor and Leigh Griffiths. (Herald)

Thank God for that.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

This rumour is True! Wolves are talking to Celtic about a deal that would involve McGregor plus Cash in exchange for Griffiths. Griffiths has not fallen out with Wolves or the Fans, he is just finding it difficult to settle as his family are in Scotland and not prepared to move. He has expressed an interest in moving back to Scotland and Wolves have already signed a replacement Forward from Wigan (Dikco). The stumbling block is Wolves Valuation of Griffiths (2.5 Mil) They want McGregor + £2M, Celtic are only prepared to offer McGregor + £750,000. Belive a deal to be done by next week in the region of McGregor + £1M in exchange for Griffiths.

I would want money plus griffis for mcgregor

I hope not - he is no better or worse than stokes. Break out the big £££'s

I think you mean families plural

@ no name post - as I've posted elsewhere there is a definite interest and the usual early discussions have taken place.
He's not been frequently used by Kenny Jackett since end of last yr and the fans are now giving him a bit of grief. Mainly because when he is getting game time he;s getting chances and not taking them. I'd guess that's more to do with confidence. KJ has some strange tactics as well, an example is playing Kevin Doyle in midfield.
Re family, he's no family to bring down, wasn't living with partner/s of kids. Constantly at loggerheads with the female in Dundee who had the 3rd one

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all I can tell you Griff isn't getting grief, he is more of the current fans favourite. second Doyle hasn't played in midfield. Third Griff has stated publically he is missing his children.

Speaking to a groundsman a lennoxtown. Supposedly holmbert fridjonsson has been outstanding in training. And is ready for the the first team as the coaching team have been hugely impressed. Hopefully we have a gem in this bhoy. First time posting on the site ed. Personally I don't expect any big signings. I would however like to see some game time for our stars of the future.

I have to say I liked the look of the big Icelander when he signed for us so this does not surprise me. After the performances in Turkey I'm beginning to feel quite optimistic about this young side NL is building, foreign & homegrown. I think there is still time for balde, pukki to come good but all these young guys must be given game time for the remainder of the season. Forget this "unbeaten record" nonsense!

Agree1 Disagree0

NL building a young side? If he's not careful they will be over the hill before they get a chance. By not playing them is is simply recruiting a whole load of players who aren't going to get a game. Hardly building a young side. Name the players who will play in next CL matches from the ones who played in turkey. And name the players they have been bought or developed to replace. At the moment NL says the squad is thin but we probably have enough players at celtic to play against ourselves every week and surplus to loan out to rest of Scotland. Only Forrest has been given the support of Lennon. Unless this is about to change dramatically the team we are watching through gritted teeth will be the team till the league is mathematically safe. He is feart in his abilities to tactically win

Agree0 Disagree0

@Stu88 - Correct! 50 players in the squad and NL complains that it looks thin. Perhaps they should look at what they are feeding them!

Rumours here in OZ that Melbourne victory and central coast mariners in for Rogic on loan while Sydney FC will be looking for a permanent move for him as Brett Emerton has retired leaving a vacant marquee Australian spot

Believable10 Unbelievable4

I heard this yesterday from my mate who works next door. I said it won't happen. If he's looking to get noticed or keep fit for the World Cup Australia isn't the place to do it, the league ends too early. He's much better off staying or finding another Euro club to take him on loan for 6 months.
