Thought Nir Biton had an excellent game, bossed his area and had some nice crisp forward passes. Looks like he is settling in nicely. Hopefully Johanson will follow suit. There's a player in there somewhere.

Totally agree PedroCelt I thought Nir Briton had an excellent game I just hope he gets a run in the team and NL doesn't drop him as soon as Forrest & Mulgrew r fit again! We r 21 points clear let's c what Pukki, Biton and Balde have 2 offer NL!

Neil Lennon to stand down at the end of the
Season. Stevie Clark to become the new
gaffer, that's coming from Lawell.

Believable36 Unbelievable52

If/when Neil Lennon leaves, Stevie Clark would be my first choice uk based manager - he has always been regarded very highly in the coaching world, a bit of a visionary if you like, I also think the way he was treated at WBA was a disgrace, they have a very very average team and his first season there he over achieved big time, he is also very understated and humble, and is a Celtic supporter, I know this isn't at all important, but what I mean is he knows the club, and how big we are/the potential etc. Other than him I would maybe go for a young German/Spanish coach, manager!

Why would Lawell disclose that now?

JJ

Agree0 Disagree4

Says who, u trying to tell me lawell is going around telling people that, nonsense!

Agree0 Disagree2

Steve Clarke is a killie fan my mum went through school with him he sent me a Signed Newcastle strip when I broke my leg I will ask his dad next time I see him if this is true I speak with his dad a lot but would be good to see him in the dugout

Agree1 Disagree0

I would suggest this is absolute nonsense.

Not the idea that SC would become Celtic Manager (in my opinion he was poorly treated at WBA and would be an interesting choice- certainly more than OC or MM) or even that NL may leave which I agree with ED on- it has to be this summer.

The fact that Peter Lawwell told you? That's nonsense. I'm fairly confident of that as I am a reg guest of Hibernian Football Club, and take up my invite whenever Celtic are at Easter Road, and in all my conversations with Peter Lawwell, he is fairly coy about what he says- despite my jocular prying- and that's even after us knowing each other across a few seasons (as much as one can in such a formal setting) so unless you are really close (and REALLY breaking a bond of trust), the idea that he would disclose something like that to anyone he doesn't really know, I find ridiculous.

And whilst you may be very close to him, looking past the the obvious trust betrayal, I'd like to think you knew how to spell his name ;-)

Agree0 Disagree9

You might be right Hoopybhoy - I was always led to believe that he was a Celtic supporter. As I said, this is not remotely important, but a few people who seemed to know him told me he went to school with big Roy Aitken and always at least had a soft spot for us. I have never really heard anything negative about the way Clarke operates, I heard Zola/Mourinho and a few other players and managers think he is one of the most forward thinking coaches around. I just don't like the way we play - I don't feel tactically or technically we are anywhere near good enough. But I certainly agree that Lawwell won't be going around divulging private info! Cheers

Agree1 Disagree4

He went to St. Andrews in Saltcoats so did big Roy I know mourinho was trying to get him back as his assistant I would love to see Steve as celtic boss I've heard he is a great man manager and his record as a coach is great

Agree0 Disagree5

Just a little caveat with regards the Lennon thing, it's bad enough that I think we are average at best when it comes to tactics and our technical ability, it is an absolute disgrace that Tony Watt and now today the Lad who just went to Shrewsbury(Atajic) is having to be put through a pre-season because his fitness levels are so bad, their manager won't even consider him until his fitness improves. I think this is unforgivable - our young players should be doing double sessions most days, we are no where near good enough as it is. I am absolutely raging about this, and it comes from the top-Lennon doesn't seem up to taking our club to the top!

First of all, we all know for a fact that big peter lawell isn't one to go about talking club business to random folk. However if Lennon is to go he has to go at the end of the season. I think he has been a decent manager and a great servant to the club, but I do feel that we need a change in direction. I think who ever takes over needs to look at the young lads already at lennoxtown and blend them in with the first team, I also feel that the person needs to play attractive attacking football which I feel at times has been lacking under Lennon. Steve Clarke is a good manager and a good coach and I think he would be a good fit for Celtic. If Lennon is to go he should be thanked for what he has done and we move on. I think the board would already be drawing up a list of potential replacements.
