Hi all
Does anybody know what the situation is of David goodwillie at blackburn?
Personaly I think he he could do us a turn up front and I can't see him costing a lot (especially with Blackburns current form and cheaper option than Rhodes)

Believable2 Unbelievable46

Would not touch him with a barge pole, he made it abundantly clear where he wanted to go.

Had the same discussion the other day with a utd workmate.
He had that one good season before he left but the consensus is that Russell the better all round player.
Appreciate that Russell will cost more but ignoring the bad rep goodwillie has and the opportunity for our excellent
Coaching staff to improve him I'd take him on loan with view to a knock down fee. He's a young bloke but will eventually screw the nut, his experience down south might have been sobering and see Celtic as a last chance at big time before he trawls the lower English leagues.

Goodwillie isn't what we're looking for. Has proven he can score at SPL level, but he's struggling to get a game for a mid-table Championship team. He'll not be able to make the step up to Champions League level either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was that your opinion of hooper when he signed from Scunthorpe?
The whole transfer system is to buy and develop. U telling me goodwillie wldnt improve if here for a season or two?

Badwillie dropped form after his rape situation, right at the time for going down south. A step back is what he needs, long term maybe depending on his current level. no idea what he's at. Russell the far better option.

Dont want goody want charlie austin!

Agree0 Disagree1

Like Novo, Naismith and apparently Fletcher, he has stated he would never play for us.
No big loss; he has went backwards and has a a bad reputation off the pitch.

His attitude off the park stinks with convictions and I for one would hand my season book back if this where to end up in paradise. some people need to think before the post. airdrie Tim

Agree2 Disagree0

Airdrie Tim - Stokes? no handing your ST back for his off park activity? {Ed007's Note - It could be worse, he could be like Goram or even Gazza. Stokes hasn't actually done anything wrong.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Thought about this long and hard and a came to the conclusion a widnae take a $hite on his face ha haaa

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I don't think Stokes has either but some people who are whiter than white like Airdrie Tim might {Ed007's Note - It wasn't Airdrie Tim that said anything about Stokes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No he didn't but comes across as someone who wouldn't accept players being anything less than perfect in society. Goodwillie was charged with assault for protecting his mate, view the CCTV. His rape accusation was quashed. Just wondered why its ok for one player but not the other that's all

Agree0 Disagree0

Mud sticks. I personaly couldn't see my self celebrating when an alleged rapist scored. the case was dropped due to lack of evidence that does not clear his same imo. that's not how i. was raised

Not a Celtic post but just wanted to share this.
Hearing from a Dundee supporting workmate that Rab Douglas has been booted out of the club.
He went to speak to John Brown about the new goalkeeper who has been signed and was told in front of the other player to pack his bags and get to f*ck out the club and that he was finished.
I think that is a shocking way to treat someone, never mind a guy who has been a model pro and arguably their clubs top performer in hard times.

It does sound a bit bogus to be honest. Even a booze fuelled person like Brown would surely not treat a seasoned pro like that. All it would do is lose any respect he might have had in the dressing room. But it is a player who "was proud to have played for that stadium (ibrox)" so who knows. green jhedi

@GJ, funnily enough I joked with my mates at weekend, that Bomber would soon get rid of all the tims in the Dundee team, so I could believe it, although I doubt even Bomber would be so blatant about it. Timalloy

GJ and Timalloy link below is to a Dundee message board. Peter Marr has pretty much confirmed what I said, apart from it being said in front of other players. Disgrace

Dont think brown would be so stupid to tell big rab to f**k off Dannybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting and I would hate to think that Brown was that bigoted that he would dump a good goalkeeper because of who he played for. Still, as a few of the posters on the site said, 2 sides to every story

My brother in law played under brown when he was youth coach at oldco and he said he was nothing but a bully then and that he was hated my the majority of players because of his attitude.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a no from me - I don't want his sort anywhere near CP.

Sorry, that last post was meant for the Goodwillie thread, obviously.

Hi Guys

My old man works with big rabs uncle and yeah it seems that he was subject to abuse from bummer broon although not in front of the team. Also my dad was told that bummer made it clear when he arrived that big Rab was going to be turffed oot?

edoo7 do you expect wanyama to leave in the summer and where do you expect him to go?

thanks cc {Ed007's Note - I have said all along I think it will be Arsenal if he leaves although Txiki Begiristain has hinted that Manchester City are considering making a bid for the player as well as Chelsea needing to replace Essien. Manchester United have turned their attention to Kevin Strootman so it seems less likely they will follow up their interest.}

Spurs were represented at the St Mirren game a few weeks ago in Paisley. I was talking to their scout but wouldn't say who he was watching. I can't imagine it would be Hooper as he's not doing anything to impress anyone at the moment so it must have been Vic.

Jungle Bhoy.
