Looking on another transfer page and it states that hoopers off for 7.7 million plus a player from Southampton this will happen monday/Tuesday as Celtic have agreed a price for another striker and that's why the deal will go ahead. Henke7.

Believable6 Unbelievable37

Wouldnt mind getting ricky lambert as part of the deal

kev88

Agree4 Disagree14

More like Paul Lambert ya numpty, wind yer neck in man

Agree8 Disagree5

The bid wasnt 6mil it was 2 so why are they boostin the offer by 5.7 million

Agree3 Disagree7

Shut up ya t**t!! Decent money for hooper + lambert would be a good deal! Don't want to lose hooper, but he'll go eventually! Some supporters need to get a grip, we would even be lucky to get lambert up here never mind hooper going the other direction! I'm fed up hearing Celtic play European football blah blah blah....... Sounds good till Dunfermline away, Inverness away, st mirren away in the league! {Ed007's Note - So are you saying players don't consider European football when selecting clubs? First I have heard of that. You do know that some players have clauses in their contract that are triggered if a team that offers regular European football comes in for them don't you? Well obviously not eh?}

Agree4 Disagree8

Back into your cage william hooper is going nowhere

Agree12 Disagree4

No... I'm saying European football isn't all it's cracked up to be be once they've had a very small shot at it!! Once they realise that they can't do much more more they might move on! ie stan petrov on wed night.... Inverness! It's more of a question than my opinion. I'm starting to learn the hard way! {Ed007's Note - It's the exposure and chance to prove yourself against European opponents that is the attraction. European football is more important to players than international games, that's why so many retire from the international game to concentrate on their club career, the prestige and money is more important than their national pride.}

Agree3 Disagree3

Listen to yersels. There is no way Celtic will look to sell Hooper when we are chasing the title. He is a top top striker who deserves to be a english premier player but nothing will happen in this transfer window if it does happen Mr Lawwell and co should walk now.

Now can all the naysayers f*ck off to their own page. HH

Agree11 Disagree6

Fair play to this man ^

Agree8 Disagree1

I'm fed up hearing Celtic play European football blah blah blah....... Sounds good till Dunfermline away, Inverness away, st mirren away in the league!

better than playing for mid table pi5h in the money league and going to bolton, blackburn and wigan with no European football

Agree7 Disagree3

What could.Celtic.possibly hope to gain by selling hooper now? I think he is only 23 so his price is only going to go up, say he ends up with 30 goals this season which is a real possibility then no doubt he is a ten million pound man. It would make no sense to sell now.

Junglebhoy33

Agree10 Disagree3

Neil Lennon has put a £35m price tag on him

Agree7 Disagree1

Dont think it matters what price lennon puts on him if the board get great money then they will take it.

Agree3 Disagree3

Yeh great money as in 10 million or more people keep spouting utter pi$h CELTIC DO NOT NEED TO SELL ANYONE! n unless we got an offer we couldnt refuse hooper is goin nowhere he will just get better season after season n any football player wi brains wants 2 win trophies n play in europe ie champions league its the premier competition the epl may offer mega money but it is absolute garbage i mean seriously a poster on here was goin on about y would sumbody want 2 go 2 inverness dunfermline etc on a typical scottish winter y would anybody want 2 go 2 wigan bolton blackburn etc 2 play against overpaid average players in front of half empty stadiums people seem 2 c the epl as sum holy ground n its not the best team in the world is barca well apart fae the hoopshaha n they destroy every english team they cum up against so wot does that say bout the epl?if it was so gd n they were all so gd y wen many of them hav unlimited money cant they compete wi barca?its cos money dont buy u success this year man utd n man city got dumped out theyre goin backwards n it shows utds desperation that paul scholes is back so folks get it straight hoops do not nd 2 sell whether sumbody makes an enquiry or a bid it means nothin unless we get bids that match our valuation nobody is going anywhere lenny is building a talented n young team that will only develop n get better n will get us back in the champions league where weve had sum top nites we aint a selling club the books get balanced we aint goin outta business like the dark side o the force n lenny wants success n he will deliver a treble this season n much more 2 come hail hail is1888

Harry Redknapp to push for james forrest as back up for aaron lennon 6mil i am being told! {Ed007's Note - Don't listen to the the voices. Wrap your head in tinfoil, that should help.}

Believable4 Unbelievable22

As was said last week on the site, there's no way NL is selling anyone crucial to winning the league title (he confirmed it yesterday in press conf). It's clear we have the right blend at the minute and if anything the right CB at the right price etc would come in. Any trialists in at the moment are for future development.

Do you think commons will play today Ed?
CB {Ed007's Note - He might come of the bench. the team is:

Forster;
Matthews; Rogne; Mulgrew; Izaguirre
Brown; Wanyama; Ledley; Samaras
Hooper; Stokes

Subs: Zaluska; Cha; K Wilson; McCourt; Commons; Ki; Keatings

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Awful 2 nd half, looked scared, all over the place, stokes for ki? WTF to push sammy up front?? Bizarre ,

Agree8 Disagree2

Defo need a strong target man !! 3 good goals (just a pity they weren't all ours) - Mrs E

Agree7 Disagree2

Sammi won little in the air today, not goog enough to partner hooper,

Agree7 Disagree2

A game of two half's indeed!

1st half was fantastic to watch, excellent possession play and passing, remember on at least 3 occasions making over 25 passes without losing the ball.

2nd half we fell to pieces after they scored, and couldnt quite get back into our stride, for 40 minutes you could sense the edginess to our play, and DU obviously could as well.

in saying that, how many fouls were DU allowed to get away with? and Daly must have commited a dozen himself easily, ref crap as usual, but a good 3 points nonetheless

Agree7 Disagree4

I agree 2nd half we were poor. Having said that I don't think Dundee United troubled us too much or created too many chances and their goal was a shot from distance. We really needed the 3rd goal to kill the game though and didn't really look like getting it which was disappointing given how well we played in the first 20 mins.

Thought Matthews had a shocker today (but to be fair their LB had a pretty good game) while Stokes offered next to nothing although he may have got an assist. Thought Hooper, Brown and Wanyama were our best players.

Agree3 Disagree4

Thought brown was awful today he cannot run with the ball at his feet which is ashame considering

Agree8 Disagree2

Matthews needs a right sided midfielder in front of him to protect him . Brown just runs after the ball , no positional sense , just played on the right to get him into the team and upsets the balance . Runs about like a 7 year old following the ball .

Agree8 Disagree3

Brown played well today, he is central mid tho. As for utd not doing much, they had 2 chances 1st half and daly almost equalised

Agree4 Disagree4

Not sure how brown was getting listed as having a good game? Everytime he got the ball he wasted it and was running backwards or across field. The majority of Celtic supporters wouldnt bat an eyelid if he left

Agree4 Disagree1

as i said last week ED about southamptons first bid for hooper then i said on wednesday they had placed another bid to which people said oh they only made an equiry where they gonna get the money to sign hooper ! i have a feeling they will be back with an improved 3rd bid sometime next week {Ed007's Note - They can come back if they want to. Unless the bid is in excess of £7 million they are wasting their time, even that amount might not force a deal.}

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Am not saying your wrong just sayin that people thought i was talkin s**t like the one poster who was saying "where they gonna get the money from it was only an equiry what was made"

Agree4 Disagree1

Listen you, there has only been 1 bid, the 1 st one was a phone call to see if they could encourage a bid then on Thursday they came in with a £4 million pound offer that was rejected! They don't have 7 or 8 million that it would take.

Agree11 Disagree2

Neil has admitted he has rejected a couple of offers (bbc sport) for hooper

Agree3 Disagree4

Well it pleased me to hear the offer was rejected, which shows we dont need to sell unlike some others, hopefully were making a good team, ed any news on either trialists being offered contracts? regards keir {Ed007's Note - Not yet no.}

Agree4 Disagree1

"listen you" lennon said a couple of bids to my knowledge a couple is usually 2 so clamp it

Don't think this Jordan Rhodes story will go away...

CELTIC will step up their interest in Jordan Rhodes if Southampton come back with a £6million offer for Gary Hooper.

Today's Express

Mrs E

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Neil Lennon has said that even if Southampton approach Celtic again they'll still not get him
Lennon:
"I've no idea if they'll come back in for Gary a third time, but they'll get the same answer if they do. He's not for sale."
He also said goalscorers like him are priceless and I agree. People can say £10m is ridiculous.

Agree11 Disagree4

If yelavic is being touted for 10m then hooper is worth the same for sure
CB

Agree10 Disagree5

Gers man here but an honest post... Dont think either Jelavic OR Hooper is worth 10m... I would think about an offer of 5m for Hooper cuz if Celtic fail to win the league again then his value is sure to drop anyway.

Wanna see them both stay though cuz without these top players our league will fall more and more in turmoil. {Ed007's Note - Players are worth what another club will pay for them.}

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Agree4 Disagree2

Lita is about 5"6 with heels on! Afraid not mate

Agree6 Disagree3

Wee bloke but is strong. Think Lennon wants someone to receive the crosses from the wingers.

Agree2 Disagree2

A didnt mean tall a meant big as in built like a tank

Agree0 Disagree5

A midget tank? {Ed007's Note - His official height is listed as 5ft 9.}

Anyone else think that it would be worth breaking the bank to sign Chelsea's transfer listed CB Alex? I Personally think that a player like him would help us on the way to being a Champions League team again and would be worth whatever he costs.

London Bhoy

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Na a 33yr old on a holiday is the last thing we need 3.5m with no resale value, no brainer
mcdab {Ed007's Note - Alex is 29.}

Agree4 Disagree1

Alex has signed for QPR

Agree1 Disagree5

Couldn't afford his wages but would love someone like that. still young enough and would provide excellent experience and class

Agree1 Disagree2

Ma bad, players just seem tae age quicker at chelski
mcdab {Ed007's Note - Well it can't be from worrying about money :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip the guys wages r 50k !!
CB

Agree0 Disagree0

London bhoy the days of getting these star buys on stupid wages r well long gone. I actually glad too don't think he's that good a player either.
