Was wondering if anyone could enlighten me please? If this 12-12-18 League set up is ratified, with the 3 leagues of 8 after 22 games, how can a team win the first division title? It doesn't seem possible Drewzybhoy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Does not command as a keeper, too lightweight, at 6 ft 7 seems feart to come out for crosses, no verbal commands for those around him, a keeper needs to be verbal, 2nd and 3rd goals woeful

Agree0 Disagree0

Not quite the answer I was looking for, Fraser Forster will hopefully never be in the first division.

FF will probably play in the premiership pretty soon. Along with the likes of other players who were slated by fans honest opinions. Maloney Caldwell and hooiveldt ( spelling prob incorrect). Whether these guys get relegated this season is a moot point. The fact is they can cut the mustard at a higher level having been seen as surplus to requirements with CFC. What really amazes me with some posts is the absolute certainty of the opinions of some fans. I mean do they even read the post in question before spouting their honest and true opinion? And this is not meant for anyone in particular but the player bashing that goes on on this site truly amazes me. My basic rule of thumb which works for me is, would I say this at the match in the crowd or in the pub discussing a players performance. I mean good manners dictate that you don't upset anyone or are not overtly critical of the club and players you are meant to support. That does not mean you should not voice your opinions of course. My amazement comes at how hard some of the posters must be. I mean they must own the street or in fact even be the Big man! How else can you explain the confidence and authority some of these posters have in criticising often unjustly and without any real evidence the club and the players I love. As I say pretty amazing. Hope the above replies answered your question Drewzybhoy. Lol.

Good to see the quality of banter and intelligence is much more rewarding here. Nice one Joeshmo! Even I can be sucked into spurious threads! Sopotcelt.

But to attempt to answer the question I am also confused. After 22 games the team at the top with the most points seem to be in the best position to be champs of the second teir national league or whatever they call it. Otherwise the middle 8 teams compromising 4 from the top league effectively contaminate the 4 second league teams who have moved up and in any case they are no longer playing in the original lower division. The no 2 league of 8 obviously have weaker teams to play thier final matches with as the top 4 teams have moved up to play the bottom 4 of the top league so how can one of them be champs. Of course the top team in the second eight may be crowned the second teir champs even if they started in the higher league! Its a bit of a mess I have to admit and its as clear as mud to my old farts brain. Sopotcelt

Just watched the highlights on TV. For Utd's third what on earth was Forster thinking. At the game I thought he should have came for it when he seen it was Izzy against Daly. Having seen it, why did he not move his feet and make an effort? It was not a bullet header, it floated more than anything but for me he was at fault. This is a fault of the big man, he seems slow ish at covering his goal line. green jhedi

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Well I thought it was too far out for the keeper to come for it and to be honest (wee bit of ally there lol) thought big Daly placed it well.

Cant really agree with you here GJ mate. It was a fantastic goal. let's give Daly some credit here. In fact the whole DU team did not have one failure. I enjoyed the match very much. To be fair maybe big FF has been less sharp in recent weeks but that goes for the whole team. We cannot expect top class performances every week can we?They won a very entertaining match after all.
I tend to keep my criticism of individual players and the team to a minimum and then only when they have lost. I do think goalies get hyper criticised and often by people who have never played in goal or have any idea of the pressures involved. Next thing the players will be getting advice on what's the best method to tie their boots. I am joking on the last point GJ but only half. Sopotcelt

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with you totally tam (and psst by the way we won)

dannybhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree for a big guy he does not command his area well, and have seen wilson pushed about too easily, in the mould of loovens. col

Agree0 Disagree0

I see and understand all your points guys, but for me a keeper as tall as him should be attacking crosses. It was floated over. Agreed Daly did place his header very well, but there was no real pace on it. You may be right though, at the game I never thought twice, but the on TV it looked iffy. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah you won a game that you should not have why did neil lennon not come out and say dundee united should have had a penalty and also commons second goal was handball erm let me guess is it because a decision didn't go against his team. that will be it he only cries wolf when he don't get a decision other than that it was 2 thoroughly entertaining semi-finals and feel a bit sorry its not falkirk in the final if lyle taylor had finished his chances then they would have been.

thought daly took it well, but isolating izzy at the back post is something teams use against us all the time and we don't seem to be coming up with an answer to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forster and Hooper have been going backwards for weeks now. Kayal is a bomb scare. How stupid can you get? You come on as sub knowing a booking puts you out of the final. Also for the life od me I cannot understand the praise ledley gets. He is average at best. He was very poor yesterday. He was not alone here. The midfield were not tracking back which resulted in DU looking as if they were going to score everytime they went up the park. We need to sign Mackay-Stevens

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need to sign mackay stevens, don't think he hurt us, unlike that wee $hit flood
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Haw tit head WHY would any manager come out and say, It was not a goal, our player handled it, get a life and face the reality, that it will be a long time before your team is back in a semi final of the national cup

Anyone know how tickets are being allocated for the final?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

It will go to season ticket holders and they have a list of previous cup games and who ordered tickets and the people who have been to most games will get there tickets first before other season ticket holders. and after that if there is any left they will go on public sale.

Shocking today one of the worst performances of the season were so lucky to win and we should be thumping Dundee Utd 6-0 Hooper has to go now since jan he hasn't be the same it was like he was more concerned about who would win the Master's than today, and the defense was an absolute bombscare! Ambrose, don't get me started just saying his name get's me going I don't see his logic he skins a guy and has to turn around and skin him again then loses the ball, and Forster terrible I could have saved Daly's first header he just watched it go in. Not good enough we have players like Gershon Miku wtf does Neil Lennon not see in them Lennon has his favourites and you can't have favourites he needs to give players a chance look at Dundee Utd 16 year old at the back and 17 in Midfield against Celtic, can see Jackie being future gaffer because we've been terrible since the CL Lennon has to have a long look at the team because we are no where near where we should be. But other than that, we're in the final! Hail Hail GhreenBhoy1888

Believable7 Unbelievable12

I mean the second header lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Very harsh mate, Miku? really?. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

We have no right to be thumping anyone 6-0 our players need to show more hunger and desire. But credit to them we're in the final and that's what matters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I thick, or was that not a great game of football today?. FFS we won wether you think we were lucky does'nt come into it, as the other post say's, were do you get off saying we should have beat them 6-0
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate you need to stay off the buckie when watching football, great game today to watch ok were still not right at the back but overall i'm just pleased to see us make the final. maccabhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish it was like that every week aye we were a bit weak at the back on occasion but was the most exciting game in a wile and Saturdays game was great 2 both good adverts for our game up here!

In a season full of strange games, that was the strangest yet. Score early, start well and seem to be in control. Then another couple of gifts to the opposition! It really is getting ridiculous. Granted if Lustig scores, how did he miss it?, the whole shape and tempo of the game would have changed. But even more so if Daly had scored, from a free header again, as time was ticking on.

I thought second half and extra time we done okay but if your going to chip goals away you will struggle. Lenny once said players like Sammi get managers the sack. They dont. If managers are watching the same mistakes from the same players in defence and does not change it, that gets managers the sack. Telling the truth, we had a few passengers today. For me Hooper drops far too deep, under orders maybe?, leaving no focal point when we break. I thought Charlie was pretty poor, although to be fair he did come good when moved to the back. Wilson never looked comfortable and I wish Efie would stop dribbling on the half way line. Forrest redeemed himself for the winner but was, for me, poor.

Young james has went backwards. He came to prominence by burning full backs and crossing, or cutting inside for, usually, a good shot. I lost count of the number of times he had acres of space behind their full back and never went for it. Until the cross for Stokes, who looked sharp when he came on, he would have been a flop. What worries me though is listening to Lenny on the radio. He seems to have a real blind spot with this boy. His praise was for me over the top. He even claimed he will become one of the great Scots players. But I ask this, who was more productive today, who done more work and doubled up to defend? Mackay Steven or Forrest?

Still there were pluses. We never stopped playing and looked hungry for it. A bit of guts were shown and that's all we ask for. maximum effort and concentration on the job. Hampden in the sun again! Although I have this horrible feeling Hibs' name might be on this one. green jhedi

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Cant belive Lenny today. Wanyama gets booked misses the final Then takes him off Puts on Kayal 1 x booking away from missing final. And what do you know gets himself Booked. Now that was a bad call Neil Because we are now 2 midfielders down fior the cup final

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't agree with you on James Forrest GJ, thought he was our best player by a mile. We are much more dangerous going forward when he is in the team. Bear in mind this was his 1st game for a while and played 120 mins so thought he was excellent. The whole defence needs reshaped. One long ball and we are all over the place. Huge disappointments for me were Forster, Izzy, Wanyama and Hooper. Forster, Wanyama and Hooper gan gtf as far as I'm concerned if they think they can do better than the famous Glasgow Celtic. It seems they do. I'm baffled why Watt is not given more game time as he runs defenders ragged and at least puts in a good shift. I also thought there was a few in the Dundee Utd team who looked the part. The young fullback, GMS and the boy Gould. Anyways, looking forward to the final now and it will be good to see Hampden be totally green and white. martyc1888

Agree1 Disagree0

Who would you have picked in middle of the park

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought our defense was rotten till charlie went to center back then he won all high balls and made some good challenges. and when he went to cb wilson went to right side cb he was a lot better and we looked more settled. efe still scary at rb as cb. think charlie needs to play cb mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Meant to also say not a fan of the 433 as forrest gives no real width in this formation and exposes fullbacks to much as today cheers mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Second poster - izaguirre set up two goals from pin point crosses, but you thought he was poor? What game were you watching? Also that was izaguirre's best performance for months.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forrest has a slipped disc in his back its a miracle he can run let alone play at this level we need to cut him some slack and get behind him eric black and alan brazil both retired mid twenties with this injury he's a celtic boy who needs our support

Agree0 Disagree0

Izzy is a defender mate not an attacker and as a defender he is rotten that's the problem. He's good going forward but his job is to defend so I don't know what game you were watching if you thought he was good. Got caught out for 3rd goal and he constantly gives goals away. martyc1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Marty, you must have been at a different game from me mate, Forrest our best player, he put one good ball in for Stokesy's goal and that was about it, Will agree with you on Hooper, him and Forrest are Neil's golden boy's and he need's to have a look at that.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Got to agree about izzy. great going forward, but how many goals has he been at fault for this season. col

Agree0 Disagree0

Give forrest a break. he's young and just back from injury. he was good today-not great but he played a lot of games before his injury. forrest has contributed a lot more than some more experienced members of our team so get off his back. i'd say go for mackay stephens then we will have two quality young wingers

mk bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason Forrest stopped attacking the full back is because his crossing in the first half was shocking, he was scared to try, so he kept cutting inside and going sideways. He also has a terrible shot on him, so what does he give the team. With a bit of luck someone will buy him in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forrest is a talented young boy who had an injury ravaged season. Get off his back. Of course you seem not to have seen his perfect cross for the winner, what a surprise. Sopotcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Sopocelt I think if you read my post I mentioned Forrest's cross to Stoke's.

Well what a game that was haha had everyhin u could ask for in a cup semi final massive credit 2 jackie and utd they never gave us a minutes peace and 2 push us 2 extra time especially with a 17 and 18 year old in ther team is a brilliant achievment but again have 2 say our defendin was pretty woeful at times the zonal markin for daly's header was shockin a really think ambrose should be played in midfield the guy just is'nt a defender and a don't see why charlie plays in midfield tbh he was a ghost in ther would rather see him cb and ambrose in mf but just glad 2 get that game out the way and get rid of this hampden hoodoo should be a good final HH
