Hope it's nonsense that Stokes is going to Leeds. TTTS

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Following his recent incident I doubt that we will be prepared to increase our original offer to him. He is a loose cannon out of control and should consider himself fortunate if our offer remains on the table.

If stokes goes then so be it! Very few people get a second chance at Celtic and if he wants to play against Birmingham rather than Barcelona then get him to feck, and as for Hooper make up yer mind stay or go! No one is bigger than the club. Personally I would like to see us bring through a few U21 players and give more game time to Tony Watt. We don't buy legends we make them!

Agree3 Disagree0

Stokes is overrated very good cup final but this season has been hit by injury, fair enough that happens. the season before he could and often did go missing only to be found playing as less than average winger. Hooper I would like to keep but we have seen Better strikers than him come and go,.
I fear Watt is never going to make the progession he should

Agree0 Disagree0

That 2nd reply is the best I've read in ages! Hooper & Stokes are not bigger than Celtic, if 1 wants to play in the Championship & the other in a relegation battle than cheerio, don't let the door hit you on the a**e on the way out. there's going to be more faces coming in the door I've no doubt. I know people are not excited by the names we're reading like Doyle & McFadden, but like me if you're a true fan, you'll cheer them

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard he was for the off aswell, didn't hear a team being mentioned just that he wasn't signing the deal put infront of him as he wants more money celtic aren't willing to offer. I wouldn't mind if he went, yeah he's a good goalscorer but when is he going to play? Balde just been signed shows stokes might not be in the plans for next season, suppose it depends on the hooper saga. the boy needs to make his mind up.

S

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes is a decent player if the board want him he will be there. untill he leaves I won't listen to a word of the rumors surfacing, I for one hope he stays I am a fan of him

"loose cannon out of control"? your'e reading too many batman annuals or the daily (fill in any of the scottish red tops). TTTS {Ed007's Note - I like that anwer :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

True fans my arse, majority of you have turned on one of your own, cause of a stupid nightclub fight. Stokes WILL be here next season, this is just the media trying to cause problems, so what he wants more money, every footballer does ps a true fan sticks by their players through thick and thin

Just in, Amido Balde has officially completed his move from Vitoria Guimaraes to Celtic for £1.8m on a 4 year deal, he is being paraded at Celtic Park as we speak. Drewzybhoy.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

If Balde plays even a tenth as well as he boasts then he will be a world star. Pity he couldn't emulate Larson. Keep his mouth shut and let his feet do the talking. Hope is the answer to our needs.

tv reporting Amido has signed and at £1.8million looks like a great bit of business.
So what are all you bhoys and ghirls hopeing for now?
I really want to see a comanding CB and possibly gary makay steven and when hooper beats it adam le fondre as I think austin is way over priced
hew1888

Believable4 Unbelievable4

A top class centre half and a playmaker in mid ( a new hero) also if hooper goes another goal machine plz. Celtic will roughly know now the likely hood of hooper staying or not so will have a replacement or 3 lined up, were being linked with paddy Madden again, but will cost more than Russell and not any better! Depends on boards ambition
Why spend ££££££££££ to win SPL?

I would love to see Balde & Hooper form a fantastic strike partnership, however think his mind is made up. Minimum of 6m for Hooper if he does leave. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

We had a bit of a playmaker with Ki and NL would not play him consistently nor did he play much in his correct position. Just the way it was. TR not the finished article but is being lined up for that role. I hope Rogic gets the playtime. He has great potential. I am not saying he's another Maestro but his head is always up and he is always looking for a pass. I like the boy I just hope NL can find him a starting place. I think the team is going to develop from a defensive minded midfield unit into an attacking one particularly if we sell Victor. In fact he won't have much choice in the matter. That means we need a top CB to compliment the guys there already and we need someone to play In the hole. Rogic perhaps? Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see us add a bit of experience into the team. It's great seeing all these young guys being picked up cheap but Dunne would bring experience to the backline, midfield I wouldn't tamper with too much although get Joe Ledley signed up on new deal, Rogic should get more playing time now. I know there are mixed feelings about McFadden but think he would be a good option when fit, never sure what he will do next. Stephen Ireland is an excellent player but would he unsettle the dressing room? Would like Mackay Steven for LHS and must admit I'm disappointed we didn't sign Russell but hopefully Balde will do a job. Our scouting system has come up trumps time and again and I'm sure John Park has some more gems up his sleeve.

Not a rumour, just a player that I feel falls into the kind of price bracket and leagues we should be scouring.

Carlos Bacca, Colombian FW who plays for Club Brugge. Scored 30 in 53 games since January last year! Also got 2 in 3 for Colombia.

At 26, I'd imagine he'd cost about £3m but you'd be getting quality for that amount and would be a certainty to sell on!

They paid 2.5m and he scored 24 league goals last year in a more competitive league that Hooper, yet we are looking for upwards of £7m for a guy with 12 months left on his contract? Don't think Belgian clubs are in a hurry to sell either.

Going for another South American striker after Miku would be a brave decision. He just didn't have the fight or the bottle to cut it here.

Nathan Redmond of Birmingham City could be available for just £2million. 19 year old exciting winger with great pace. Would be a good option for us. Swansea are said to be interested

I have heard we have released Lassad, this means along with Rogne, McCourt and loans ending Miku and Gershon we should have some extra wage space to push the boat out on some signings. Whata waste of time these loan deals at the last minute are.

Not many of the names flying around excite me too much, would love to see us find a real gem like we did with Lubo, I don't care how old let's get someone that makes us stand and applaud every time he gets the ball.

I like most hoops fans just love that flair player (don't personally care what number they wear before someone says a number 7)

CeltStu

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Cost cutting. Few hangers on out and save on the wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see a 'Lubo' to excite the support and influence the young players even for a season or two?
We may even lose more players than you mentioned during the window, so we will have funds and places available; and it's been a wee while since we enjoyed a maestro or play-maker of any note to entertain us.
We were linked with Riquelme (spelling) Del Piero and Seedorf recently and there must be a mature gem that could be tempted?
The SPL is not an attraction but the unique CL nights at Celtic Park are famous all over the world as a fantastic stage for football. How many times have you heard top class opposition players in the past, wax lyrical about the atmosphere etc; so it could happen if we wanted it to.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Deffo mate! We should splash a wee bit extra cash to bring back the thunder with a marquee signing - A decent aged player could give a level of maturity to the squad along with attracting more punters through the door - got to speculate to accumulate even in the current financial climate!

ShottsBhoy

Would love to see Gary Mackay Steven at Parkhead. He is the player I believe that would get bums off seats with some of his attacking play. Would be good to see him on the left with James Forest on the Right.

Heard from a reliable source Carlton cole to sign for Celtic! He is willing to take pay cut because of champions league football! Also odds on with to sign

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Wouldnt mind him tbh but can't see it maself, he must be on at least 50 grand and that wouldn't be a pay cut, he would have to half his wage as I think broonys highest wage wi about 25 grand. think he'd do well wi us tho. bhoywonder

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard he's on brink of west brom move thank god he's hopeless m8 n

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see why we need him after signing Balde? Cole is clumsy and awkward and his goal record is rotten.
I thought we were going for Doyle and maybe Austin or Le Fondre if and when Hooper goes.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

God, enough with the premier journy men. Agent mentions Celtic and up goes his price. Not worth money or wage.
Le Fondre different player, would take him

Agree0 Disagree0

Carlton Cole was on 28 grand a week, took a 50% cut when West Ham went down and was still on that for his last season with the Hammers in the EPL. Hooper is going so who have we got at the moment? Tony Tony Watt and maybe Tony Tony Stokes. defo need a couple of strikers

Thank goodness Russell has moved on. not even as good as Goodwillie and silences the usual punters complaining Lennon missed another 'gem'. Would rather see Watt on the park next season. See you in an Aberdeen strip in 2yrs Jonny!

Faithful-thru-and-thru

Believable9 Unbelievable12

Agree.

He'll blend into the championship, 10-15 goals next season and never get a big move to the premiership.

Its much ado about nothing.

Bleating on about his goalscoring record is nonsense when you consider its SPL goals. Micheal Higdon scored a barrel load last season, what does that tell you. He would have made no impact in europe and I can't wait to ram it down people's throats when Tony Watt is first choice for Celtic and a first pick for Scotland in 2-3 years time

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally Agree. Tony Watt is a much better prospect. Really hope he gets more game time this coming season

Agree0 Disagree0

What about hooper? We bang on about his goalscoring, and how he should be a england player because of his scoring is SPL! Why 1 rule for hooper and another for russell? Russell scored goals in SPL, as did hooper but hooper is worth 6mil and a england cap? An russell is just mince! Nameless posters who have no clue!

S

Agree2 Disagree0

Well said S, I agree 100%

Russell may not be an EPL standard player yet, who knows? But how many of our players really are either? A few maybe but that's it.

Russell scored consistently in a team that makes half the chances our guys make for the front men. He has proven himself since he broke into the Dundee United first team.

I honestly believe he could have been a 25-30 goal a season striker for us in the SPL. He wouldn't have to be the finished Champions League striker right away because he could do the business on the domestic front while being eased into the European scene gradually.

I might be right, I might be wrong. Sadly we will never find out now.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper is scoring in europe ya plum. Man of the match against Spartak away last year and opening goal. Scored against Helsinki, Helsingborgs, Spartak at home as well as away. Double in the Scottish cup final aswell.

Big games mate, that's the difference. that's why the fuss. Yes he didn't perform as well or as consistent as we know he can but he still managed 31 goals last season including the important ones I mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give Watt more of a chance. Should have had a run of games last season

Agree0 Disagree0

@3) What an personic post that was, just topped off with an even more embarrassing dig at the other posters. Why is Hooper worth more than Russell? Seriously! Maybe because the league Russell just joined Hooper scored 20 odd goals in before he left for Celtic, I would bet my house Jonny Russell doesn't match it! Maybe because he has scored CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GOALS! Helsinki, Helsingborgs, Spartak Moscow home AND away! Maybe because he has scored even more SPL goals than Jonny Russell! Or maybe just because he is without a doubt a better player than Jonny Russell and scores Cup final winning goals!

I dunno mate, pick any one of them! They are all facts. Clown

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary Hooper has Champions League goals & experience, whereas Russell has little more than SPL goals & experience. Hooper has proven, without doubt, that he has the potential to score against any team. So, "S, " there be your answer, fella.
