I just saw of Sly Spurts NEws that they've quotes Craig Whyte as saying that the tax bill "could reach up to £75m"

Check it yourself - It's repeating along the ticker at the bottom of the screen now.

How can this be true? I thought that the £49m included late fees and penaties etc. So where is he getting the £75m from then? Loving it anyway!

Any ideas though? {Ed007's Note - The two HMRC cases are not Rangers only debts. Even now they owe Ticketus as well.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

There are penalties and interest to be added as long as it takes to resolve the case

Agree0 Disagree0

And the rest aswell ed? they don`t only owe ticketus.there is alot more than just them,not including day to day running costs right ed? {Ed007's Note - Exactly.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The 75m is only if Rangers appeal or HMRC appeal. The time it all takes would add on more what ever outcome.

Ed, Ticketus is not a debt.

Rangers have sold an advance sale of season tickets to Ticketus at a discount to face value. It is therefore a sale of goods and not a loan.

In future seasons Ticketus will sell the season books at face value, making their profit from the different between the discounted price they purchased for and then selling at sale value.

The sale by Ticketus in future seasons will be marketed and administered by Rangers, so to all intents and purposes it looks as though Rangers are selling them.

The Ticketus season books are sold first, and then once they have all been sold Rangers then sell their "own" season books.

This link explains the Ticketus investment model:

so what now happens with celik?compensation due/who pays that?wallace?money still owed to hearts.who pays that?artybhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable0

No idea. I've heard it's written off but I also reckon a reduced sum agreed mutually or a sale could be a possibility.

But we can at least laugh at Cousin - scouting the African Nations my backside. Desperation signing of an old semi-icon before it's no longer possible because of admin. Not that we didn't know that already.

ed,mate.if they enter into full admin,are season ticket holders still allowed entry to home games,or are their season books void with immediate effect?artybhoy {Ed007's Note - They will still be valid, it is still a form of income (matchday revenue etc).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi there ed would they still be liable to pay their taxes on these ticket sales for 3 to 4 or many more years to come. , I JUST CAN`T GET ENOUGH,HAIL,HAIL {Ed007's Note - They will still need to pay Ticketus. Whyte must have game them some form of guarantee over the payments, no company would give that kind of money out without some.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Kind of security thanks ed,top bloke!! JUST CAN`T GET ENOUGH,HAIL HAIL {Ed007's Note - Thanks mate, appreciated, for some strange reason some Rangers fans have fell out with me today/tonight so just post in sick bigoted abuse.}

Ed

if its admin within the next week and thats now almost 100% certain
not only is it 10 points deductions but also a 3 year ban from european football.

Lubo25 {Ed007's Note - As far as I know mate.}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

That's only if they don't come out ofadmin by the end of March. If you jump over to the gers page you will see the statement made by rangers in which Whyte is trying to negotiate a payment method with the HMRC in which they will be out of admin pretty quickly so europe is not affected.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats IF you come out of admin before the end of march and he files audit and has AGM.Admin means he has no money to pay bills

do you honestly still believe what he's telling you?

Lubo25

13 Feb 2012 17:29:41
whyte is just manipulating HMRC into a position where it would be best for them to do a deal on any money that is owed to them he may be a crook but a very astute crook at that {Ed007's Note - There will be no negotiating. David Murray tried and was told no chance.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Hmrc will have to negotiate they either do a deal or get something like 10p in the pound. This could be an astute move {Ed007's Note - Have you ever had to deal with HMRC, they are not very helpful if you owe them money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you implying rangers are trying to blackmail the queen lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find that HMRC have been in this situation before with companies. Craig Whyte will not be pulling a fast one. It's a well trodden road.

How you doing ed07, from reading what you have said when iv been on here you seem to know a bit about the process of administration. What will happen after rangers do go into administration? Will the administrators flog all the players for what they get and have to go with youth players? Any other info you could give would be appreciated

Lee S( I'm a gers fan) {Ed007's Note - Have a wee read at this Lee mate, if Rangers do go into admin in the next 5/7 days there will be a 10 point deduction: They can't sell players because the window is closed, but contracts could become void,meaning players could leave under freedom of contract. There will be a transfer embargo until they exit administration, so come summer if they are still in it they will be banned from signing players. Europe could also be a problem, remember Portsmouth weren't allowed into Europe when they won the FA Cup because they were administration.

sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/277010-what-happens-when-a-football-club-goes-into-administration/

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Incorrect, Portsmouth weren't allowed into Europe because they got relegated and failed to file the correct paper work to enable entry to European competitions. {Ed007's Note - They were in administration. Clubs in it are not allowed to enter European tournaments, why did Birmingham get in the EL this year? They were relegated.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed07. Its a sad day. Kinda knew it was coming but it's still a boot n the b*ws

Lee s {Ed007's Note - No probs Lee. Keep following your club mate, if/when you come out the other end it will be an amazing feeling, believe me.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not disputing the fact they were in administration however this wasn't the sole reason they never made it into Europe, they filed paper work late and had it rejected.. Also read my original post correctly you will see I said " they were relegated AND failed to file the paper work"

Agree0 Disagree0

Rankers also haven't filed paperwork in time

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2012 15:50:25
Why sign Cousin and go signal possible admin 1 hour later. Did Cousin know this?
His words were he came to Scotland to help Rankers win the league and turned down 20 geand a week from Birmingham.
Seems a bit strange.

Joeshmo1888

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I think the deal to sign donkey cousin could be SCRAPPED now, you couldnt make it up lol pass the parcel anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2012 15:38:58
now that they have gone into administration does that mean a fire sale of their assets. Did they deliberatley hold off until the transfer window closed before declaring and how can they sign Cousin and then go into administration in the space of a couple of hours, surely that is fraud or theft if they cannot pay their creditors?

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Rangers have NOT gone into Administration, they have only signalled there intent. There is a difference.

meltdown time ed , rangers have lodged administration papers at the high court , stv news ,fab1

Believable8 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2012 15:19:33
Rangers have filed court papers signalling their intention to go into administration.

The Ibrox club lodged the notice at the Court of Session in Edinburgh at lunchtime on Monday.

It is understood the papers are the first step in any formal administration process. They now have ten days in which to declare administrators have taken over the running of the Glasgow-based club.

This period allows the company to speak to creditors to see if they reach an agreement without appointing administrators, which would see the Scottish Premier League champions being docked ten points.

Rangers FC are currently awaiting the result of a £49m tax case with HM Revenue and Customs in relation to the club's use of the Employee Benefits Trust to pay players and staff. It is thought the decision to lodge court papers means the result of this tax case is likely to be known imminently.

The Court of Session confirmed to STV that papers signalling the intention to appoint administrators had been received from the club's solicitors acting on behalf of their directors.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Rangers are to go into administration after lodging the notice in Edinburgh at Monday lunchtime.

It is understood Gers have five days in which to formally declare administrators have taken over the running of the club.

The Scottish Premier League champions are facing an uncertain future as they await the verdict of a tax tribunal.

CELTIC are set to swoop for Portuguese wonderkid Edinho Junior. Reports in Portugal last night claimed that the 17-year-old Olhanense striker will arrive in Glasgow today to sign a four-year deal.

The Hoops are ready to pay £500,000 for the teen hitman who is viewed as one of the top talents to emerge in Portugal.

He was included in his side's first-team squad for their win over Beira Mar last month after impressing in their youth set-up.
