Just seen that balde has agreed a 4-year deal, and should be done by 2morrow. the clubs just need to finalise it.

Once he signs I suspect we will see further movement early July. Never a dull moment!

Agree0 Disagree0

Goodness, you'd think he was a £50m player the way this has dragged on over the last few days. Why are we never involved in simple and straightforward transfers? Have we been trying to penny-pinch on the deal or have we been sitting waiting in the wings while Balde waited to see if he could get a better offer elsewhere (although according to Crystal Palace it was never going to be with them! lol)?

PS: I don't think it mattered if Russell was going to cost us £750k or £1.5m, I think I'd still have preferred to take a punt on him instead of this Wee Bobo!

Whats this obssesion with russel all about? Is he any better than Watt or stokes? We are trying to build a team to progress in europe and Russel would have been a pointless signing

For the love of god, get over Johnny Russell. He wasnt all that, he wasnt Celtic Class and you are all loving him but he was no better than Stokes or Watt. Grow up and move on. Either that or get in touch with Pete Lawell and tell him YOU can do a better job than Lennon and Co at recruiting and running the team. While you are at it, tell them I want Rooney and will just mump and moan because we won't sign him!

Agree1 Disagree1

I think we have been penny pinching, usual celtic tactic. why u think we lose out on a lot of players in the windows? Trying to save a bit of dosh! The balde deal still not completed, hoping its done by tonight.

think we should tell hull £4m plus george boyd for
hooper see how serious they are

Believable6 Unbelievable14

They've only just signed boyd.

Agree0 Disagree0

George boyds a peterborough player who was on loan at hull last season so that won't happen.
dhman

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would you even want Boyd?

Agree1 Disagree0

Dhman yeah he was on loan initially, but he's now signed a 3-4 year deal with Hull FC only signed on dotted line 2-3 weeks ago. I also think its a non starter, I think celtic would like a full transfer fee for hooper so we could properly replace him. boyd is more of a sammy type player, will score some goals but not at the same ratio as hooper, we can't settle for average.

S

Boyd was free agent and just signed for hull. mark

Boyd signed permanently with Hull weeks ago and is not the type of player we need. We have Commons, Forrest and Rogic who are all players we should be looking to use ahead of Boyd.

What happened to our interest in Juan Agudelo, I hope it gets revived in this window because I thought that kid look really good.
Is there any past targets you want us to go in for?

Quack

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Don't know how they do business in the USA but he was " traded " to New England Revelution in May. Reports say he has been outstanding since signing. DH

Agree0 Disagree0

@DH: only played 3 matches but scored twice.

According to Sly Sports, Hull have tabled a 4 million bid for Hooper. Hope this triggers a bidding war as the Bhoy has checked out of paradise in my opinion. let's see a good £6m bid and he can go with our blessing for being such a amazing goal machine (although, showing no ambition going there but money talks I suppose!)

ShottsBhoy

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Agree 100%, but if no more offers,
Would not be bothered if sold for 4.
He has been great for us but as you
Rightly said the boy has checked out.

With big vic poss on way as well, I would prefer us to buy a youngster pref
A Scottish born, and give kayal his rightful place back in the middle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I just can't get over the fee! £4m is a joke.

This guy scores goals in the champions league, not only in the spl.

We are not here to ensure the epl gets good players cheap. If his Celtic career had been at championship level in England he'd be worth double the £4m.

I'd hold out for £8m anything less is robbery.

Ano its a rumour but going to hull ait gony get hooper in the england team staying at celtic and scoring more champions leauge goals would surely get him a call up. Sep1888

Agree0 Disagree0

If Hooper really wants to go to a team like Hull then let him go, shows his ambition. Is he really likely to be any closer to an England call up playing with Hull. He's in the last year of his contract, £5million take it. Go for Marc Janko

Agree0 Disagree0

I seen that as well. Anywhere near the 6 million mark and we've done a good bit of business. If/when the balde deal goes through I think the next priority should be a centre half to play alongside wilson. Let mulgrew play as left back and deliver the crosses from deep for big balde.

Agree1 Disagree0

Kayal needs to earn his spot as a starter. Did nowhere near enough to prove that he can fill in for Big Vic.

Ontario Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't care if he was sold for £4 million. He has no desire to be here anymore, He'd rather languish in the lower half of the Premiership and face possible relegation than stay nad have possible Champions League football again. I'll say it again. he isn't the centre forward people make him out to be. 3-4 touches to get it on the right foot before he shoots, any striker worth his salt can take it 1st time, whether it be left foot, right foot, or even the head, but we all know that Hooper can't/doesn't/won't do this.

sorry Gary, but time to go

Samson

Agree0 Disagree1

With Hooper entering the final year of his contract we have to be realistic. £5million with a decent sell on clause would be fair but I'm hoping we get nearer £6million.

LM67

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree if we get 6 million I think its a great bit of business but hopefully all of that money would be re-invested into the team a left midfielder a centre half if not 2 and another striker are needed to improve the team and keep pressing on from last year.

Donegal Bhoy

Kayal is finished as far as I'm concerned, move him on if possible. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything less than 6m for Hooper would be a travesty. Guys a goals scoring machine. Hard to come by. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree1

Last year of contract why pay more than £4 mil when in January you can sign him for free? Guys saying £8 mil having a laugh we will never get that for a player running down a deal, though it is his worth! I think anything around £5M will see him off, remember we were only offered £4 mil plus upto £5 mil in add ons in January, no one has offered more than £4mil upfront at this point.

Hi ed first time poster just reading on sky that hull have made a bid of around 4 mill for hoops I think that this is ridiculous at least he's worth 6 upwards what's your take on this {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site. It is only the first of many bids expected for Hooper.}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Hi ed, not been on for a bit but as its silly season! Sly sports ticker briefly breaks news that hull bid 4m + for hooper. Then it vanishes, no mention on spl news section or on website. Went on oddschecker, only two bookies listed as betting on hoopers club after this window. Vc bet are 2/1 hull while slybet already in to even money. Nuff said methinks. andybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Ed; the bidding starts now and wee diddy teams with delusions of grandeur better get real. Good luck to Hooper wherever he goes.
