A bid is a bid. I sincerely hope we don't take less than double that.

I can't see us getting double figures for him tbh. Not that I don't think he's worth plenty but I reckon PL would let him go for £8/9 million

BS VVD will go for double figures! He's far too good a player and its only incoming transfers that are in single figures(extremely low ones) but he knows how to sell 5m for hooper and over that for ki VVD will sell for wanyama figures!

VVD is a poor jason denayer. He was like a lost puppy in europe last season. Yes he strolled the SPL but I would stroll the SPL in that celtic side. Take 6.5 million and run a mile because I'm positive he's going to flop in England.

I doubt anything will happen till our cl fate is decided but if we don't qualify I reckon we will accept 6million for a player who won't want to stay and possibly up to 10 million to tempt us if we qualify for cl. If he stays for group stages he could leave in January for anything between 5-10 million depending on how we/he does I think

Reports saying we are interested in Kenneth Omeruo. He would be a cracking signing.

We should get in for Piazon while we're talking.

It's looking more like we really are looking to develop youngsters than bring in experienced players. It's a plus that we can really teach such players into our structure and method. The downfall is that will we ever have a complete side or just become some sort of development programme for clubs in superior leagues? And just become a cycle rather than a linear progression?

At least we're doing it with pedigree, players who have been around top clubs. Where not 'making the grade' is not so bad. City, Chelsea etc search the globe for top young talent, and have the muscle to win their signiatures. But rarely bring them through and instead just chuck money at a problem. But they can. And we can't.

Would this be a loan or a permanent deal? If its another permanent deal I would be impressed. Looks like we are looking at top 4 or 5 EPL clubs to see what good youngsters they have who are ready for first team football and taking a punt on them (denayer, boyatta, Janko). This could be a good strategy I think as there's a number of top younger players in their ranks who never get the chance due to the money spent down there. I seen Josh Mceachran has joined Brentford permanently after years of being loaned out, if our midfield wasnt already sorted I would have liked to think we would look at that sort of player.

Would piazon need a work permit to play up here?

No idea RsK to be honest. I'm not sure how it works. You would think if he can play in Holland and Germany then yes. Or the rules need changing for UK/Scotland.

{Ed007's Note - It'll be a loan.}

Thanks Ed. We should bring him in regardless of the Van Dijk deal if its a loan and get shot of Ambrose and have Boyata Him and Van Dijk fight over the two centre half positions.

Been a while since I posted on here. as I've said in the past I live in Boro so follow them as well as Hoops. He was very good earlier last season but he had a bad slump in form since the start of the year really. Boro did have a solid defence so was no real surprise to see him lose his place. Still he'd do well for us, not really good enough to replace VVD but definitely prefer him to Ambrose.
