Whats everyones view on the new home strip? personally I absolutely HATE it the broken hoops r disgusting and iv never been a fan of v-necks s makes it even worse. Anyone actually liking it?

Believable6 Unbelievable10

I haven't seen it in the flesh but from the pics I've seen I think it looks ok sometimes it is nice to have a little change I've bought every strip since I was young and to be honest every year they are pretty much the same! There isn't much you can do with the hoops I suppose! I do agree about the v-neck I like a collar whatever its like I will buy it and wear it with pride!

Agree0 Disagree0

For me the best Celtic strip was the 1993-94 away kit, black with the green stripe through it, with the collar.

What about the 1991-92 away top, the one sponsored by People's, that looked like the contents of a weans nappy, still had it though!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the current home strip is the best one ever. The new one for next season is not anywhere near as good for me. I don't like the stripes within the green hoops, I like an unbroken green hoops. I won't buy it, I might get the away one for a change.

So you would deny our club much needed funds?away join the dark side, as long as its green and white hoops it should be worn with pride.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd buy it if it didn't cost so much! Bought the last few but now they're costing £50+ nowadays. A rip off if you ask me.

I would not deny the club much needed funds, if you read it properly it says I will buy the away one for a change. That means I will still buy a strip, so how is that denying the club much needed funds? I will not "away and join the dark side", don't insult me please. I have a mountain of Celtic strips at home. Why have such a go at me?

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah, OP's entitled to his opinion. I not a big fan the strip as well, so I'll buy the away or 3rd kit. Accusing someone of supporting Rangers for having a preference has zero logic. Give your head a shake.

See what happen's if you don't have a name, you can't have a reasonable debate, because you don't know if it is someone from the other side, trying to rip the pi$h

I think the best home top we had was the hoops with the writing through it that dicanio cadette and van hoijdonk wore

Agree1 Disagree0

Was me that done the original post I thot I had signed in but had'nt incase I get accused of bein a currant bun for not leavin a name was just makin the point that personally a really don't like it and for the price they cost now a probs won't buy the new home top (not definite wait til I see it in the flesh) il prob get the away or 3rd top for a change

The thing with the hoops is there is not a lot you can really do with it, it's distinctive and part of what makes us Celtic.

However I remember the home strip for season 1997-1998, the one with the big Umbro badge in the middle. All the strips were re-called within the first few weeks of being released as they were disintegrating in the wash.

That season we had to stop Rangers from winning 10 in a row and we started the season with 2 defeats, home to Dunfermline and away to Hibs. Was this an Omen of our new strip, a sign if what was in store for the season ahead, not a chance. We won on the last day of the season against St Johnstone and stopped 10 in a row.

My point is a strip is just a strip, it's about the player that's inside it that will win us trophies, and as the fans we are we will roar our team on regardless of broken hoops and dodgy collars.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree about the player inside, a lot of mince players have played in lovely strips. My favourite away was the one from 2007/8 with the black and green vertical stripes and the shirt collar (but that was occupied by Lee Naylor!) worst away strip of recent years was that spectrum loading screen thing from last year. The year we stopped them getting 10IAR has to be one of my favourite seasons, I remember on the final day, Archie McPherson almost willing St Johnstone to score, we were pushing the ball about albeit in our own half for the a bit of the last 10 minutes and his take on that was, "Celtic are paralysed with fear!" I miss Archie McPherson, he was comedy platinum :-) Daviebhoy77

To the 'dark side' post away and grow up! If u can't have a debate or a chat about stuff without your nonsense away back to your cave! Just because u don't like something doesn't mean your from a supposed 'dark side' it people like you that keep society stuck in a rutt fed up with folk like u ruining our clubs good name with their dross. I don't like the top and won't be buying it, but will go and buy a few other things to make up for not buying it as it will be the first home top that I haven't bought in 30 years.

It is a bit of a modern phenomena, no, feeling obliged to buy 1, 2 or even 3 new tops every fkn season? What about those with kids? Must be a nightmare. Just because Celtic do it, doesn't make it right. And f**k Nike anyway Celtic should make their own tops. It's a resounding "b*******" from me. (grumpy today) pea
