Just saw the goals from Ross county
seriously how bad is our defence!

Mathews/lustig - usually great however both out

Wilson - just a bomb scare since last season IMO he's het for the 3 goals

Ambrose - has flashes but still a bomb scare

Izzy - not the same player however if a decent offer came in would sell

Mulgrew - other than dead balls he again has flashes but better than the above!

Lenny

Believable6 Unbelievable9

The bit that sticks out for me is when ambrose got the ball at the half way line and turned a played a 45 yard pass back to the keeper when he could have turned the other way and played a 30 yard pass towards the strikers that's not the actions of a team that wants to win

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson's a miles better defender than ambrose!

Agree1 Disagree0

Time to give Marcus Fraser a game, won't let us down, ambrose is rank rotten,

@2 you talking about Mark Wilson?

MgC

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of Ambrose and Izzy - THEY CANNOT DEFEND.

totally agree, we have been v poor defensively for large parts of this season, i don't think lenny knows his best defensive set up, even when know injuries he still chops and changes weekly, ambrose is poor, rogne inconsistent, izzy really struggling to deliver a decent cross, wilson i think has it in him if he got someone at his side for a lengthy spell, agree that mathews is quality, lustigs got it aswel, but to me we are carrying at least 4/5 players every game, hooper, mulgrew poor far to often, we have great potential coming through so i'd be more confident in them putting a proper shift in for jersey,. hail hail, god bless the celtic+

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson was great against juve so you've made a mistake there, Charlie mulgrew has been fantastic, ambrose Is poor.

I have to laugh at the comment about izzy struggling to put in decent crosses. I'm slightly more concerned about the fact he has no idea how to defend his own box.

first the second goal was matthews fault for letting the county player jump over him to win the ball and the third goal was forster fault for coming of his line and just staanding there in no mans land.

also izzy didn't even play that match but yet people are still having a pop and if he did play he woulda done better than mulgrem

and lastly mulgrew can only play CB no other postion. he won player of the season last year as a CB and has only played a couple of games at CB this year :/

Agree0 Disagree0

Wtf did Wilson do, he's been carrying out defenders all season

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson was shocking for the 3rd goal but he's been good all season. some fans need to get a grip. players will make mistakes. un general terms they've been excellent. celtic will not go on a long winning run because there's there's nobody there to push us!

Am I correct in saying if we win the 2 league games before the split the league is over?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

If Motherwell win both theirs then we would still need a point after the split but dueoto our huge goal difference then we would be champions

Agree0 Disagree0

We still need 10 points if motherwell wins there games

Agree0 Disagree0

There are 8 games left this season and Motherwell are sitting on 47 points, the maximum they can now get is 71.

Celtic are on 62 points so need 10 points really to win the league assuming Motherwell do not drop any.

We have 3 games before the split - Aberdeen (h), St Mirren (a) and Hibs (h). I would love to win the title at home ~ Mrs E

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has revealed the club are set to splash out £4.5m on a new player.

Can't find a link for the article. Any ideas who the player could be Ed?

MikeyBhoy88 {Ed007's Note - I haven't read the article and have no intention of doing so Mikey but I doubt PL would say anything like that although I could be wrong. That amount would be enough to buy Miku from Getafe though.}

Believable0 Unbelievable12

I hope not Ed. I had high hopes for Miku when he arrived but he's flopped completely.

MikeyBhoy88

Agree2 Disagree0

Hope not, he's not even worth half of that. Don't see PL spending that amount on a player, he said in january that there was money for a decent signing. didn't happen, the money is in the bank but won't get spent.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about that Austin guy who's a striker or Rhodes Ed? Think that might be possible {Ed007's Note - Two good shouts there, Huddersfield are still owed a large percentage of Rhodes fee and won't be promoted so that is another cut in the overall fee they arranged with Huddersfield.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a centre half we need but I would be very surprised if that amount of money is spent in total never mind on one player. Is it a coincidence that season ticket renewals will be issued soon!

Agree1 Disagree0

IF we sell, say 20 mills worth we should at least get 1 bit of NEAR class 5 or 6 mill. If not THIS YEAR WAS JUST ANOTHER FALSE DAWN. Jjim the tim. sooryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Agree0 Disagree0

Peter lawell was speakin in general saying we would buying players to develop into cl players wether they were free 1million or a 4.5 million player didn't actualy say we were buying som1 in general for 4. 5

Agree0 Disagree0

I have honestly seen Miku enough to think signing him on a pernament basis WOULD be a good move though 4. 5 bit steep, class player, more time to settle and more minutes on pitch

{Ed007's Note - To GJ:

I have spoken to Ed002 and according to her, yes a club without three years audited accounts can apply for a Euro licence as they are a brand new club. Such as a newly formed club in Estonia winning a cup for example.
So if The Rangers/Sevco want to apply for a Euro licence without 3 years audited accounts they will be admitting to what everyone already knows, and exactly what Charles Green and Jabba Traynor amongst others have already stated, that they are a brand new club.
Otherwise The Rangers/Sevco would need to go through some form of a drawn out, costly, legal process based appeal.}

Believable8 Unbelievable2

ED007; Thanks for that mate, very interesting indeed. I would assume the need for a seat at the top table would see them backtrack on the same club nonsense. How the Sevconians would deal with it is another matter. green and Traynor already on record as saying the club is dead, yet they cant/wont accept it. It truly is denial/stupidity on an unprecedented scale. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - If The Rangers/Sevco fans can't accept what their owner/chief executive and their Director of Communication say what chance do we have of them listening to intelligent people like us?}

Agree1 Disagree1

It's a moot question because I can't see 'the company currently managing Rangers' winning any meaningful silverware over the next three seasons.

Is anybody else finding some of Lenny's statements a bit strange? Post match yesterday he seemed to be having a dig at some players. That's fair enough as we were, first 20 minutes apart, pretty poor. But using phrases like, " I don't know if they have been tapped up or where they are mentally" and " You can tell by their body language they are not with us at the moment" This just makes you seem weak Lenny. You as the manager have a full coaching staff, selected by you, to oversee all playing related matters. What are they showing in training? As fans we can see who is not putting it in. Since the window in January a few players have let their standards slip.

Forster; has shipped a few soft goals and looks to have his mind elsewhere.
Commons; A real let down for a while now. The ability is there but seems more interested in falling on his ass when he gets the ball now.
Wanyama; Still puts the tackles in but lacks the intensity he had a few months ago. This may be due to his age to be fair.
Hooper; The biggest offender for me. Just does not seem to have the desire to get on the end of things like he used to. Lenny is his biggest backer, again exempting him yesterday, is he doing enough to merit special treatment?

Another problem for me is the utilisation of the squad. I would hazard a guess that Miku, Lassad and Rogne won't be here next season. Therefore in my opinion they should not get a shirt ahead of a youngster, it sends the wrong message. Some players deserve a mention though, Ledley;always puts in a shift and never hides. Matthews; Shame about the injury, really starting to develop into a fine player. Wilson; has fought back from a shaky start to be very consistent, Fair play due to Lenny for seeing it in him. Starting to feel a season that promised so much might slip away from us. green jhedi

And wer is ambrose in your comment, stef1967

Agree0 Disagree0

@stef1967; Ambrose is not there because that's how much he has given recently. Average, does not mention a comment either way, like lots of players this season. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Is lassad not signed till the end of next season?,. ,. kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't agree more with your comments about Commons. I've said for months all he wants to do is hit the ground rather than try and play football.
