Just heard some very exciting news. Neil Lennon will attempt to bring back Aiden McGeady with the money he receives from Wanyama's transfer to Southampton.

Would make sense for him to come back. He's 27 and could potentially play Champions League football again rather than making his money by sitting on the bench down South.

I sincerely hope not m8t, Peter Lawwell should have been wearing a mask when he took £9.5m off Spartak for Aiden, while he can take players on, he is not consistent enough, has no final ball, is a bit too full of his own self importance, doesn't really see eye to eye wae Lenny and hasn't really been missed, so sorry not for me .

Utter rubbish . NL will not waste money on Mcgeady . The money must be spent on a straight replacement for Wanyama and to strengthen the team . What would Mcgeady bring to the team?

No chance he is on 50k a week in Russia.

He's signing for Everton, why would Celtic bring him back a second time at 27, they've had his best years, no sell on value this time round

Helder Barbosa is just as good if not better than mcgeady and 2 years younger and is available for free hope NL goes back in for him and uses the WanWanna make money elsewhere

I don't see why we would pay money for McGeady when we already have a similar player in Forrest with more potential. Utter pash!

Can't believe the response to this rumour, although I don't think it will happen I would welcome the wee man back in a heartbeat, i've certainly missed him while he's been away and have not had anyone nearly as good since and the vast majority of guys on my bus would agree. he was sold for £9.5m because he is a cracking footballer who seems to have matured since going to Russia. as I said can't see it happening but here's hoping.Eddiek88

I'll tell you what happened, you checked the teletext to see of wanyama was away yet, ypu saw spartak had put aiden up for sale, then you came on here and told fibs. Matured as a player? Didn't he smash up a locker room lately after getting sent off? Not very mature is it? Aiden slated us after he left aswell so he can go throw feaces at the moon.

With Vic surely for the off to Southampton, could we be making a move for the Israeli player Avihai Yadin who was discussed a few weeks ago?

I know youtube videos can make a poor player look good but he has played in the CL and looks a good prospect for the amount of money he would cost.

Thoughts?

I am all for buying three 30/31 even 32 year old mercenary type players give 18 months 2 year contracts.

The men who would get the job done in CL games old stars that want to make there name great again.
You could get them for 20 thousand a week, I they are out there alright.

I honestly think we could get better. I don't know the player, but at 26 with half a dozen caps, we would be looking at selling him on aged 28 (approx) so would be unlikely to recoup big cash. Several other more attractive options exist. Jean-Pierre Laguerre

I hope we can find better because I think Vic will be a loss and I hope the other players don't see this as the ok to make a move away.

Jean-pierre bang on as usual mate. I'm not entirely convinced we need to look outside our squad for a replacement. We also have several youth players who need a chance aswell. If we can get a left sided player in lb/lm as cover for izzy and Sammy I'd be happy. Ed suggests we use this wanyama money to raise our wage limit to 30k. I think that's maybe the better thing to do. Wait till next season and try for a quality bosman
