Strong XI. Expecting a good test against Motherwell but reckon 3-0. Dembele to get at least one.

With 5 players playing together that aren't accustomed to playing together we will most likely struggle

I will take any win this evening

We definitely need a decent and mobile midfielder going forward who can cover the 40 yard area effectively.

Even with his 2 goals Dembele's body language is still quite negative. Still trying too hard but maybe after this tonight he will push on and play without being so tentative.

Personally I think that's a good thing means he wants to get better.

Delighted with the performance of the whole team tonight, especially young mcgregor! Hopefully a few people on here will cut him some slack now, outstanding performance from the young man. Every 1 of them to a man got a 7/ 8 rating for me tonight. Hopefully more of the same to come from the bhoys. Thought also that wee tam rogic was a stand out aswell as Forrest, I actually feel strange writing this, because I have slated the boy for the last 2 years. BR must have a great influence on him. 1 more point, great to see all the young team getting a game and doing their selves proud. Hail hail lads, bring on the manky mob.

Great to watch the game tonight. Long time since we saw a celtic team play like that. The movement, passing and speed was great to watch. If this is signs of things to come, well I ain't saying because I don't want to jinx it, but, signs are good. I Still feel we need a playmaker in mid.

Could be a blessing for MD that LG is banned might help him bag a few goals and boost his confidence.

That was brilliant from start to finish. Only complaint I can really picky about is Gordon parrying the ball straight out again. Absolutely superb though. Very pleasing on the eye.

Nearly every ball Gordon played out of defence landed at a motherwell players feet . he was not tested at all tonight great performance by the other 10.

Thought every outfield player was superb tonight! Forrest looks like a completely different player under Rodgers. I hope some fans start to get off his back a bit. Can't be easy playing under ridicule even when you've had a good game.

Granted it's been warranted over the last few years but I see a huge difference in him under Rodgers.

Same for the fans saying rogic should go! The bhoy is world class! He looks a class above all the time and I have no doubt he'll command a huge fee when he goes!

Looking forward to see how we perform in a match against the dark side as those games will test the mentality of the players on the park!

Thought we were great tonight, I also liked the way BR answered the questions in the interview on BT afterwards, He stated he thought the team still weren't where he wants them and he was still looking for 2 players. Like the way he responded when Sutton asked what positions him to confirm the positions he was looking to fill.

Darnell fisher away on a 3 year deal! All the best. was never going to be a regular so it makes sense.

English press linking us with Bristol City right back Luke Ayling. Came through the ranks at Arsenal if I'm not mistaken.

Perhaps another right back is needed with Lustig's injury past, would just leave us with Janko.

Not for me mate, Adam Mathews is there first choice RB now and he's been shoved back for experience. BC fans ain't bothered either my friend. Better out there.
Again al say Patterson? Value and solid IMO. HH.

CP from Hearts much better option.

I've seen a lot Bristol city fans say he was their most creative player (from Rb) clearly just the bitter ones saying they're not bothered.

Thought Patterson had a good game Sunday against us doesn't back out a tackle by looks of it saying that wee Neilson probably want mega dough cause it us.

Forrest signed a 3 yr deal. On official website. No surprise.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2016 12:55:15
Wouldn't have kept him to be honest! Done nothing to deserve the deal he knocked back! And one goal against hearts won't change my opinion! He was on my list of players to get shot of!

10 Aug 2016 13:12:35
Instead of being against him and how he has played in the past which is nothing short of utter sh*te get behind the lad and give him a chance. I wanted rid of him when BR came in but obviously he sees something in him.

Agree8 Disagree2

10 Aug 2016 13:16:40
Maybe a bit of support and encouragment from the stands will do the lad wonders. I've been impressed with him since BR arrived. Time to get behind the lad he's a Celtic player afterall.

Agree8 Disagree1

10 Aug 2016 14:11:05
Well Stan someone should of told him that last season and season before, especially last season when he downed tools, he has had support from the faithful since he came through the ranks and has done nothing, says no to the deal on offer at the time, does a u-turn, why? No-one else wanted him, well not anyone as big as Celtic anyway. Like a poster said 1 goal against Hearts isn't going to change my mind on him, he should of been shown the door along with stokes and the rest. Let's see how long he lasts with BR's philosophy, I give him to Xmas then the Forrest we all know will appear out of nowhere.

Agree4 Disagree3

10 Aug 2016 14:15:15
I'm with stan and Anderson he's not been good enough in the past 2-3 years but has been better under Rodgers.

Horses for courses with Forrest, Just another option for BR, maybe he is getting his head down and working for BR, fingers crossed been a very fustrating player for us. But while he wears the hoops we have to back him. HH.

10 Aug 2016 15:24:45
Why he even getting a game when he refused the contract. Downed tools? Like the other 5 or 6 v Sevco.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 15:25:00
To be honest so far I think most if not al players have improved this year maybe because the system or the manager not sure but I think he has to be given a second chance and get behind him and indeed all the players we have if they still fail then fair enough chance was given.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 15:34:58
Last season I would have punted him but he has looked a different player the last few games. I would keep him this season and can sell him for something if needed instead of him leaving on a free.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 15:38:22
A few year ago I would of supported him, but he has done as much in the 5-6 years he's been with us, as Pukki, Balde and Scepovic did in the time they were with us and they did hee haw and got no support from the fans after 6months, then they were booted out the door. Forrest has had more than enough time to come good and still nothing, a few good games hasn't and won't change my mind.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There was not one single enquiry about Forrest, whether that's down to the confusion over his contract I don't know as he would be the only player in European leagues that plays winter football history whose permanent contract expires in January. Forrest had turned down the contract we offered him because he didn't think it paid him enough, that contract was left on the table and now he's signed it, it has nothing to do with him playing well against Hearts. But now it is signed I expect he will go back to his normal shite self like he done after he signed his last deal.
Forrest been conning the Celtic support for years and it looks like he's done it again, he always has been and always will be one of THE worst players I've ever seen in a Celtic jersey over so many years.}

10 Aug 2016 16:08:44
Looking at the new deal for forest, there's 2 points of view . Use he as a back up or if he does well we could sell him if the offer is good . By the look of things BR likes a fast front team to break very very quickly.
HH.

10 Aug 2016 16:26:10
Totally agree with you Ed, too many fans wanting to now give him a 2nd chance. I'd say this will be his 5-6 chance to come good, he has had more chances than any other player would be given in a Celtic top by the fans, I'm pretty sure 100% of posters wanted him gone, now he has signed and played well against hearts all is forgiven, I don't get it. Like I said Ed I give him Xmas, BR's philosophy will be too much for him by then, and then we will see the Forrest we are all used to seeing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He'll be out 'injured' before Christmas. He's only managed to play 30 or more games a season once in his career, a complete fraud of a player. The jersey certainly shrank to fit James Forrest.}

10 Aug 2016 16:28:19
Glad to see rogic and Forrest sign up good signs the club are going forward.

The guys made of cardboard! Like ED says he's conned the board into another contract he shlda been gone before BR came in like commons too. A don't care for players who play for us who feel like theyl play there best when it pleases them (johannson) or can be bothered. Millions of us who'd play for the jersey for Nowt! No one is bigger than our club NO-ONE!

The issue isn't necessarily about whether he is good enough

Countless managers have made room for him

And so what we think ultimately doesn't happen. I do think when so many don't rate a player it's very likely that he is rotten or we can't see something ( that they do) that a manager does see.

For me it's his approach. He doesn't run at players and run again and run again and run again until he passes out with utter exhaustion

He cons is by losing the ball, staying down too long fixing his shorts ( to save himself a chase back ) and does this consistently. That makes him a fraud

When he does have space to exploit he doesn't know whether to cross aimlessly or shoot or find a pass and sometimes he does all three at the same time, for me that's a mentality thing

Now if it's confidence we can help with that I guess but he has had an awful lot of " benefits of the doubt "

That said I won't boo him

No one came in for him tells its own story

Hmmmmmm.

If true I think Borini would be a great signing for us and improve the quality of striker we have. I think by his loan actions that BR is determined to recruit another quailty signing up top.
