Possible striking options?
Yakubu..experienced internationalist who has done it at the highest level

Holt..on fire in prem so probably will have other clubs after him-lambert might persuade otherwise,no european experience tho

Bothroyd..lenny seen something in him and he's not gettin much time at qpr.

Believable3 Unbelievable15

Sack that bothroyd straight away, he had the chance to come to paradise and chose qpr. dont want him after that.
frankiebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Danny Graham at Swansea,he's impressed me this season.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yakubu past it, Boothroyd is a flop so both are big risks. Holt seems decent but likes the pies and cake counter a little too much, even so he is the best of the OP selections. Danny Graham looks promising. There must be some good up and coming Dutch and Scandinavian players we could consider for reasonable money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone playing week in week out in prem league won't be coming to spl, fact of life I'm afraid especially without the old firm game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im quite happy with the 3 we got already. As long as we feed them properly they will score against anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could do worse than big john daly from dundee united , only second to hooperman this season , and don't laugh but i'd give a chance to the wee boy cardle from dunfermline bb

My list of who can be moved on bhoys and ghirls..let me know your thoughts:
Cervi
Cha
Loovens
Thompson
O dea
M.wilson
Dan
Mc ginn
Mc court
Ki
Juarez
Rasmussen
Murphy

Ki maybe the biggest surprise But with the emergence of victor and kayal to come back with brown and joe there..we've plenty of cover.
I'd expect 8mill at least from the above..I know this depends on players actually moving (rasmussen diggin heels in)
For me we need a gk signed (foster plz) another experienced CB, and 2 strikers..one experienced european striker, the other likes of russell from dundee utd. Think wee forrest needs back up to as we are very narrow without him, paddy could stay but I think he'll want/deserves 1st team football with a club..
Main objective, keep this core of players together, add 3/4 and progress..well capable of it! Thoughts? Hail Hail

Believable12 Unbelievable2

I agree but i think cha could stay just because of his speed down the wing as well i think ki will stay because lennon likes to bring him on to change things up and have the ball move when thigns arnt going well(see him in europe games, maybe the new mc court coming on with 15-20 mins to go). if we let him go i think it would be after the euros so that if he has a good run he would go for more money. I think if they sell ki it is to use that money for a deal that they have worked on for a big name.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whose going take that deadwood? What a difference a year makes, samaras was top of the list now he's pele. Ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still think juarez could do a job given a decent chance
the rest can go, yes please!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think waiting to sell Ki after euros is worth while, seeing as though he plays for Korea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most of that so called deadwood would walk into any other team in the SPL and Rangers after they go into liquidation. The first 7 are out of contract in any case. We could however add another half dozen to the list.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would keep loovens and ki , bb

Agree0 Disagree0

Ki is the best passer of a football in Scotland why in gods name would we get rid of him, its great having layers who run and chase all day but we badly need players who can keep the ball and unlock defences and Ki is the perfect player for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Bangura?

Agree0 Disagree0

Juarez should be given a chance remember his performance at the emirates

Agree0 Disagree0

I would put either hooper or stokes on the list ,we need a striker that can head the the ball into the net, i belevie these cant.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would keep cervi not had a chance but ive watched him and he looks like he could do a job in goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Think loovens is a cert to go, he's pretty useless and mastrovic aswell due to his lack of pace. Though they can do a job in domestic competitions if this celtic team really want to kick on in europe, players who can pass from the back and have a bit of pace will be required....ball retention is key

to ed ,is the summer budget determined by who we can move on or is there a set budget and what we get from the outgoing players a bonus , as i would like to see any set budget spent on a gk and target man /physical cf then any money from outgoing players spent to backfill their replacements , is this type of info outwith your sphere of influence ,,,,deep river bhoy {Ed007's Note - There will be a budget and then anything that can be made above that will be used to an extent. Players will be moved on to free up wages.}

Very interesting recording of Charlie Richmond(ref) on sportsound tonight. In it he claims he"did not move in the right circles"and was warned to "watch what he was saying" to linesmen in the dressing room.HMM.All those years we were paranoid eh? I would hope the usual reporters will be all over this but i doubt it.Here's hoping UEFA have to take matters into hand and clear this corrupt boys club once and for all.....green jhedi

Believable14 Unbelievable2

I hope Charlie Richmond does not stop there but goes on to expose the corrupt
SFA .

Agree0 Disagree0

The powers that be have had it in for
Charlie Richmond since DOUGIEGATE. There needs to be a full scale investigation into EVERYTHING connected
to Scottish football because something
stinks. CM

Agree0 Disagree0

Stewart Regan the Chief Exec of the SFA has made himself a laughing stock by posting on Twitter. If he has something to say about Richmond he should make a proper announcement. Maybe Richmond has a lot more to say. I very much hope so. CM

Did Guidi call Thompson a Liar on ssb tonight ...Things are really kicking off on all fronts now ...TTTS

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Guidi said that if Thomsons claim was true he should name and shame the journo who threatened him. Old pals rallying around each other nudge, nudge, wink wink

Agree0 Disagree0

Guidi has a point. Why doesn't Thomson name the journalist. {Ed007's Note - I suspect he will, when the time is right.}

Watching the game again over the weekend, what a game & great crowd to buzz the place up (still don't understand how the misses got her bag searched but yet the GB get 4 flairs in lol)

Anyway if Lennon wins the double should he get better than another rolling contract? 3 years or something? Also we have a lot of players that could go so if any who would you punt ? I would let cha, loovens,ki,McCourt, from the top of my head.

Also player(s) of the year ? My 3 would be ledley, mulgrew & aluko

One of you ed.... Big FF? As Noel would say deal or no deal ? Read a while back that the eye for talent GP was looking at a yank GK? Any news on him if any ?

Lenny {Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything else about the American GK Lenny, even to the point I didn't note down his name :-) Wasn't it round about the same time Zaluska signed a new contract that the story was doing the rounds?}

Former referee Charlie Richmond tells BBC Scotland that he quit due to a culture of favourtism at the SFA......Another nail in the paranoid coffin ?....TTTS

Believable12 Unbelievable3

I cant understand how paranoid celtic fans are get a grip honestly, rangers fans seem to get over things easily i still heard a celtic fan talk about caddete goal all those years ago, rangers got a perfectly good goal chopped off in same game, get over this paranoid state and enjoy your league win ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Richmond quit because he was rotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

Years of cheating winking and nudging have been proven , until all has been dealt with in a proper manner no stone should be left unturned ...TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

You get a favouritism culture in every work place in the country. Richmand was just another old washed up referee who was disappointed to lose his place to a younger official

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh thats right Rangers fans dont like Richmond because he officiates with integrity and honesty. These qualities are sadly lacking at the SFA and Ibrox. JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was that good a referee why did uefa never use him? Enough said.

Good to see more young talent been given chance to impress but we need to go for at least 3 experienced players to help us get into CL, "t!m" you may be right that clubs will be looking at our players if they perform well but at least we have them on long term contracts so we can't loose. WSNBM

Celtic have taken three young players from Costa Rican club Uruguay de Coronado on trial.

Forward Alvaro Astua, midfielder Andres Montalvan and Jeikel Medina, a defender, have all started a ten day training stint with this season’s Scottish Premier League champions.

The trio, who are all 19, turned out for Celtic’s Development Squad in a friendly with Kilmarnock on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaking ahead of his trip to Scotland, Astua told the press in his home country he held ambitions the spell in Scotland would potentially lead to a move.

"Hopefully they will be interested," he told MarioSegura.com. "It would be a dream come true to go and play in Europe."

A tweet from Celtic on Tuesday afternoon stated: “[The] trialists are from Costa Rica in conjunction with a project the club is running to assess their football skills."

Uruguay de Coronado, who are managed by former Derby County and Manchester City striker Paulo Wanchope, are in the second tier of Costa Rican football.

Have you went to the manky mobs page? ALL the ads at the top are for DEBT. you could nae make it up lol.

On a topic closer to home, Would love to see us in the CL, might back fire though, then the big boys would see the likes of Izzy, Kayal, Mathews, maybe even Mulgrew with his recent form. The one player i dont want to see leave is Wanyama, this boy has the makings of a world class player, just hope we can hold onto him a few more seasons, then he'll go for BIG BUCKS

T!M

Believable10 Unbelievable4

I think a decent season in europe and we will lose all our top bhoys but thats what being in the SPL does to us. would love to see us in a European Super league.

Anybody else think we should stick a cheeky bid in for reece mcabe from THEM...wee guy bossed the game against us. Looks a real talent.

We need 2 or 3 experienced players.

"boss" a game against 9 men, wow. what a talent

Any idea on when the big tax case will be announced bhoys? I assume that whoever is to take over must be willing to fund the 75mill bill that could be dished out? Never seen a case drag on as long in my life..
Football matters, all systems go for sunday, im just hopin there's no MAJOR hangover from the weekend, hearts will be up for it and if we don't lift our game we'll be out, that intensity from saturday..and we'll be off to hampden again in the green!

Agree0 Disagree0

No-one will fund a 75m debt. The tax case will be lost and this will lead to liquidation. HMRC will not agree to a CVA.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear Mr Anon y Moose, if you bump into wee Pat, can you ask him if he has taken up my "wallies for sale" idea? LOL Timalloy

Its against hmrc's own policy to accept cva if the company have been involved in tax evasion/avoidance it was on scotland tonight the other day so bye bye rangers good riddance just wish ma old da was alive to see this he woulda loved it

Glad to hear both Lennon and Lawwel talk about Champions League next year and about the squad, off the top of my head I can think about 9 players to cut loose...
Loovens,Mastovelic, Cha, O'Dea, Thompson, McGinn, McCourt, Ki, Rasmussen, M Wilson of those young Josh thompson might deserve another year, same with Mark wilson if he can remain injury free
McGinn, Mccourt any fee take it. Ki? he has talent but not strong enough
for SPL again any decent offer take it.
If we can offload 7 of them, that would free up a minimum £70k a week to help Neil with his budget. Realisticly 3 new players in, added to
our current squad would be good. A goalkeeper, centre half and a big
strong centre forward. Oh and if, if..., any decent offers for Sammy came in £3m+ take it also hail hail Timalloy

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Think there is a few more that could also go:

Murphy, Bangura, K Wilson, Blackman, Juarez, Towell.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to be realistic - we are never going to be competitive at CL level. Yes we can make a couple of additions to try and make the group stages - but we need to cut our cloth accordingly and live within our means. We have to face facts that if anyone bids 6million+ for any of our players we have to accept it and then try to replace and rebuild. This is the way forward for us - but it doesn't mean that it's all doom and gloom though - just saying we need to make sure we remain financially well off as well.

I think Mark Wilson, McGinn, Majstorovic, O'Dea, Rasmussen, McCourt and Thompson will be released - probably Loovens too. Not massive savings in wages, but enough to hopefully bring in two really quality players.

LucasBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with your list of players but Sammy is an enigma. We want players who want to play for the shirt but he runs about like a headless chicken most of the time.Has he been playing well because the Euros are coming up or is he actually hitting his prime now?I don't know but i think we should see how he gets on in the summer and if he does well keep him for another year anyway. If we can get Forster signed up and we have the Polish boy coming so i think another midfielder and a forward would do me nicely for next season.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we should be getting rid of Ki.
I think he will get better and stronger next season. I would also keep a hold of Sammi. I think when we play away in Europe and go with one up front, he is the man i want to see up there. I would also like us to sign up Foster for goal. i agree with you on the need for another CB and striker though!
Red Devil

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with cutting all but ki loose, rest are prety much dead weight, but i think ki has so much more potential

Agree0 Disagree0

Ki is quality, unfortunately the SPL is too basic for him. He does a lot of travelling and has been also been sick, If Cha goes (probable) it will unsettle him even more. I remember when Arteta was sold at Rangers, I was a relieved man as I knew Arteta was quality, proven now!. He had a stinker in his near to last game in the SPL against us and he wasn't given the respect or recognition he deserved. So it will be with Ki, Spain Germany or even England will see a different player and I am sure we will say why did we sell him for only 6m hes worth 15 now! Bottom line is the SPL is just not his cup of T.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about Murphy, but I think Banguara and Blackman need to be given a chance. As for Sammy? well does anyone trust him to keep his good form going, I don't. I hope he has a decent euros and someone comes in for him. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackman couldnt make it at Arsenal, Portsmouth, Tottenham and was released by AFC Wimbledon. Doubt he will make any improvements to our team either..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think mcginn should be given a chance seem to remember him being un-playable on the left wing against rapid vienna i think it was you know jellyfishes old team and he played well in some other games in that period when mowbray was still there
bigD

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on with every player mentioned icluding ki .We need a new backbone ch like bobo ,a cm with a bit of lubo, and a cf in the mould of hartson .Get that and its 4,5,6, in a row and maybe a few great champions league night or am i just a dreamer.... jim the tim hh

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know what more Sammy can do to convince people.

He is a serious candidate for POTY and has been incredible since Lenny moved him out left.

Against Udinese he was unplayable. That says it all really.
