Chris Houghton been sacked, does anyone think he would be a good choice, I wouldn't mind him and I think you would get him.

Agree2 Disagree0

Think he has a great track record with lower teams in thd pub league.

13 May 2019 23:28:57
He's not exactly known for attacking football.

14 May 2019 09:04:37
Why do we have to be attacking?

14 May 2019 09:25:43
The fact you've asked that question shows how much rubbish you talk.

14 May 2019 12:08:28
Strachan was more defensive and got to last 16 twice.

Walter Smith for rangers was defensive and got to uefa cup final.

I'm asking what is up with defensive football?

Can u answer that naw?

14 May 2019 12:48:09
No you asked why we can't play defensive football and if you don't know why Celtic should not play defensive football then you've really no clue about our club.

Strachen was more defensive? With 2 strikers, naka and mcgeady in his teams? Really?

What strachen did was defend when needed but over all his team attacked.

Walter Smith has nothing to do with Celtic so no point even mentioning him.

It's boring to watch.

At least aindoh is honest in his answer. Basically it's the "Celtic way" patter

Cos we won playing amazing football in 1967.

Aye preferably I'd want to win playing open football.

However it's very changed days for us since 60s and 70s.

Sometimes you need to be realistic like Strachan was and Smith deserves a mention as he overachieved with a Scottish team in Europe also.

Sometimes playing attacking has done us and other side of Glasgow more harm than good in Europe these days.

Le guen, mowbray, caixinha, Rodgers . all humiliated in Europe in more recent times than the 60s/ 70s.

Think the point is that Houghton doesn't play offensive football, he plays defensive football, he sets his team up to defend, with the emphasis on defence, not like Jock Steins, the best form of defence is attack.

14 May 2019 15:21:19
What’s the point of having a defensive team in the Scottish premier, we are always on the attack against most teams ( although not at Ibrox anymore apparently🤢) . Defensively astute when we take part in Europe but def more offensive for the league.

14 May 2019 16:05:28
Maybe the fact that Chris Houghton was more defence minded is he knew if he went full out attack in that league against better sides who have better players they would be ripped apart like we were under rogers when he tried it in Europe. Who ever comes in will be in charge of the best side in Scotland with the best players so this alone will surley make them more attacking minded you hope. I would definitely like Houghton as a option.
