Complacency was always going to trip Celtic up. Today’s result, to me was not unexpected given both teams recent performances (not necessarily results) . Preparation for next season is paramount and should begin with the appointment of a top class manager. I never bought in to the mindset that Rodgers departure would be catastrophic as long as the Celtic board accepted that he should replaced with a manager as good or even better. Today’s result should’ve accepted as a wake up call.

It's got nothing to do with Rodgers being a great manager.

Our team is baws, is now and was before Lennon for at least 12 months.

What we need to replace is players. . we need a much better squad of players.

Lennon got his team selection and formation totally wrong today, they were always going to pack the midfield and we had no one apart from Brown with any dig in them.
People slate Ntcham and Bitton but this would have been the perfect game to start them both, Starting Johnston was just stupid.

What we saw yesterday - and several times away in Europe - is a team that freezes and bottles it at a hostile venue and forget the basics.
How many times have we seen us in that situation, losing a very early goal, the panic sets in and we fail to get going or recover?
Of course the manager made mistakes in the team selection and tactics and once again we struggled with forward players really out of touch, but when your opponent is more motivated, hyped-up and quicker all over the pitch - you get what you deserve.
This is just not young guys that are at fault, but experienced Internationals and multiple trophy winners who let everyone down.

Tesla, totally agree the team has no fight and that’s been evident from the start of the season it’s like they just go through the motions take ages to their box with all the nonsense of passing sideways and back.

When you watched rangers yesterday and all season they attack fast with pace and go for the throat were has Celtic’s fight gone? I don’t understand it they look too soft and in Europe they are far too soft it’s the players that are at fault for this and the manager has to take the blame for the tactics which again was all wrong we need a massive clear out and we need fresh blood I believe most players once they’ve been at a club for a while become less interested and we seem to have a lot of them fresh faces with more fight is what we need, 2 new cb, right back left back cover a strong cm and attacking mid with a bit of flair and speed, and a striker with a good scoring pedigree in a good league and I would like a quality left winger too top it off that’s 8 players and it’s definitely needed, we get the transfer window right and the right manager and we will steam roll that shower next season.

100% Correct chrisbhoy7 in the areas you mention needing addressed. Most fans can see it so surely the powers that be see it aswell. Big big summer coming up in terms of management and signings. I still maintain from the power of strength and financial position we’re in we shouldn’t be a team needing so much work needing done. The past couple of windows have been a nightmare and it’s coming back to haunt us big time now. I know some will say this is a massive over reaction to yesterday’s result but it’s not, the teams needing fresh blood and hopefully yesterday was the moment mr Desmond and co realised what needs done this summer.

Id like to see what shved and bayo can do pre season, shved looks very direct and can whip a cross in, if bayo can find his feet then he could be a great target for the wingers.

Strange thing to say after the success we had under BR but he has left a lasting negative impact on the squad. The pedestrian passing game he implemented is not working. When up against half-decent, extremely motivated opposition, it breaks down. Unfortunately we don’t have players to move it through the lines fast enough. It was clear yesterday when the ball was pressed hard, our players lost possession time and time again. Players of the calibre needed to make the current style work are at the very top sides and well out of our reach.

I also think when players are asked to play the way we do, they become complacent and often get caught flat footed, expecting time on the ball that they don’t have.

Think there may be something in that re getting caught flat footed based on the style of play.

We've had two seasons where we've been comfortable - in previous matches against TRIFC they weren't organised to the same extent that slippy has got them - they're still a bang average team - but yesterday was like watching the Killie game - limited ability with organisation. Only difference was there was a higher pressing game we weren't matching.

I was all for Lennon maybe sticking around for the 10 but looking at him and his body language over the last few games - he's not looked like the Lennon of old. I would have at least expected us to be fired up for the 2nd half yesterday but there just wasnt the fight and there was nothing coming from the bench.

Could just be the tail of what's been a honking season in terms of injuries, change of backroom and pressure of the cups catching up with the players, but I also wonder if Lennon knows it's a short term thing after all and if that's what's affecting the mood.

Anyways, it was a pointless game - just knocks a bit of the shine off for me - 12 points would have been a better points diff to shut up the media and all the closing the gap clap trap.

Onwards and upwards to a triple treble!

The players don't like him. That's what I'm hearing. His man management belongs in the 70s. Far too many snowflakes these days but young players won't go respond to it. It was the same at Hibs, the players pissed him off.
