Just for a bit of fun, was looking at our 1st team squad and we could name this 11 quite easily before the season ends. Certainly in my time it would be the youngest 11 we have played.

Remarkable really when you look at the quality we have at a very young age. The remaining players are over the age of 26 and it's possible as many as 9 could be gone during the summer. I expect Forrest, Bitton, Griffiths, Sinclair, Hayes and Brown to definitely stay.

With an abundance of quality youth players like Dembele, Oko-Flex, Church, Aitchison, McInroy, etc ready to step up over the next season or 2 it does make for good reading when you consider we are having one of the most successful periods in our history. For all those wishing to throw money away at big names who don't guarantee success just look at the youth we have and tell me we are not a well run club on the right path. Yes we need to improve and we will, we can do it without squandering cash. As someone who struggled to come to terms with they way we were run i am now content with our model. The time will come in the future when we are back at the big boys table and it will be done without selling our souls to the devil.

Excellent post, Stan. I think you would struggle to find many clubs in Europe with a squad as young as that and as you say, we’re in one of the most successful periods in our history.
