I have to say I'm sickened by the news about Gary McAllister. He might be a Sevconian but you wouldn't wish that on anybody. Hope they catch the person that did it.

I’m no Gary McAllister fan but wish him well and a speedy recovery. As Ed said the incidence of scumbags on the streets is a sign of the times.

He's a hero down there is he not? I was really shocked by this because he's not someone that has ever really drawn attention to himself over the years.

Dominic Matteo said the attack left McAllister without three teeth and needing plastic surgery and 10 stitches. He added: "The attacker is thought to be American, and due to the severity of the injuries may have been wearing a 'knuckle duster' or similar! Absolutely shocking especially for his wife.

I hope the severity of the injury is reflected in the severity of the sentence, when the perpetrator gets his day in court .

The mad American attacked 4 more people. 2 of them woman. All 4 hospitalised. 1 sick coward of a man. I hope he gets street justice then jail.

As you say Ed, he probably doesn’t even know who McAllister is. Pity he hadn’t tried to do that someone like Roy Keane or Artur Boric. Might have been a different outcome.
