Caught the end of the man utd - psg match last night. IMO never a penalty but got me thinking that if it was Celtic in that position instead of Man Utd, would we have got a penalty? No chance.

If your arm is up you are always in danger of giving a pen away.

Never a pen Henrik and that's with var but was surprised ajax being the smaller club got the decision against real.

Further proof that VAR will cause just as many problems and mistakes as it solves. I always believed that it was ball-to-hand - thus 'Hand-Ball' and this unnatural position nonsense will always be a matter of opinion, varying from ref to ref and a penalty awarded when a player has his back to play and doesn't even know where the ball is heading can never be intentional.
As for the Real Madrid game, one camera angle showed the ball clearly out of play, but for some reason it was over-ruled?
VAR will cause a riot up here - trust me.

When refs get trained they are told to watch position of arm when its a handball. If the arm is in an unatural position then most refs will give a penalty.

{Ed007's Note - This is what UEFA told refs this summer regarding their competitions:

Under that explaintion it's a penalty then ed.

{Ed007's Note - I read somewhere last night though that it's different rules in the EPL.}

I just think Celtic wouldn't get a penalty in domestic football in that instance .
On the other hand, if this example happened in Celtic's defensive area a penalty would be awarded.
