Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on our goalkeeping situation. Bain has now played the last 6 I think and has yet to concede a goal. Good stats but when you look at the number of shots on target he's had to save, its less inpressive.
However his distribution has been far better than Craig Gordon seems to be able to do which is why I'd have him in for the rest of the season at least.
I'm not a huge Gordon fan anyway but unless Bain starts to make blunders I can't see how Gordon will get back into the team.

I mentioned Bain's great distribution recently and although he has had little to do in the way of shot-stopping or saves, a lot of the credit must go to a defense that is much more confident in it's keeper with a lot less jittery moments and panicky clearances.

I also think good distribution of the ball ensures we keep it. Gordon is guilty of inviting pressure onto us which often leads to good chances.

Bain for me has been excellent I think his composure on the ball and passing out from the back has taken a lot of the anxiety away from the defense hibs were pushing high up but Bain's passing nullified that he has to be number 1 from now on.

I get your point about shot numbers but we can hardly blame Bain for that. lol.

No Tim I was just highlighting that he's not had a great number of saves to make. But I also think that's due to him being a good passer and keeping the ball in our possession.

And the saves he has made have been top class.
