Even though I have not posted in a while, I see my "troll"" DN30 is missing me, aw the nice.
I stand by all I said yesterday, in fact a pal of mine who has followed Celtic even longer than me, said he thinks Delia is another "mowbray" and will not last long, I sadly, have to agree, I have nailed my colours to the mast already Delia is NOT a celtic manager.
he is only there because keane, lennon, mackay etc wanted a bigger transfer budget whereas Delia is happy with the crumbs lawwell gives him.
Not sure that's entirely fair Tim, I am willing to give the new man a chance. He has been saying all the right things. The fact that he inherited a squad under NL that has been in need of surgery for some time would indicate to me that he is the right type of manager we need. That is, give youth a chance, when they are good enough. Wednesday was a debacle all round and IMHO RD fecked up with the team selection. Its early days.
Iv got to disagree about him being right for the job, yes he is mostly to blame for that defeat but I think he's going to develop young talent very well he just needs some time he made a big mistake but as long as he learns from it we will benefit.

I think that considering he hasn't been given any time or any investment people are being unbelievably critical of RD. Even van Gaal said that it would take 3 months for his team to fire on all cylinders and he seems to have an endless budget at the moment. Celtic were stale by the end of NL's tenure and almost everyone agreed that a change was a good thing. The guy needs a season at least with a good sized budget. He can't be blamed for the bad euro result because everyone can see that his squad doesn't look close to a high enough calibre to qualify let alone compete in CL regardless of who he played where on that pitch! Look at the 11 then look at the subs then unavailable players, it's distinctly average at best. None of which is RD's fault.
When you play people out of position and sign a guy who hasn't kicked a ball in 6 months and play as badly as we did then yes ronny does deserve stick.

How can you call him another mowbray after 1 result? lol people wanted strachan sacked after the bratislava game. Aye the manager made decisions that ultimately cost us that result but the board are 2 blame more than him they have played with fire every season risking our cl future buy not making any signings until we qualify
Is this what we want now? a manager who says the right things. Look guys I can say that we will bring youth thro, we will play quality high pressure football an develop young players. Don't be fooled by this all young ambitious managers spout this because they have no experience. This guy has done nothing in the game, I will support him because that's what we do but do I believe in him. NO.

RD knew what he was signing up to, if he didn't the he should have checked before signing on the dotted line. To fall at the first hurdle when you had 45 mins to re-shuffle the team was poor. He isn't and will never be the manager we need to progress Celtic, let's face it he was the cheap, inexperienced option that PL could keep under his thumb!
