Ed just watched Man Utd game and noticed that none of the stadium front three or four rows were vacant as you always seem to get at Celtic park on European nights also noticed the same at the other grounds except Lyon do you know why this is. oldkilly.

{Ed007's Note - I'm pretty sure it's something to do with UEFA's rules regarding the distance between the pitch and fans mate.}

Why was the lyon game closed doors.

{Ed007's Note - It was punishment for trouble during their Europa League tie against CSKA Moscow back in March and they were also handed a suspended ban for a second home game.

Hi

I thought UEFA could not do anything if the trouble was outside the stadium?

I’ve sat at the front behind the goal at a CL qualifier and the extra advertising boards made it impossible to actually see the goal line.

It depends how close it is to the stadium I think. That footage looks right outside the stadium to me.

Kevbhoy . I think it is something to do with the height of the bottom one, two or three rows of the stand . UEFA advertising boards are far higher than our normal advertising and so we have to keep bottom rows empty so as to not block the views of fans .

It shows how poor the fare is at Old Trafford when TV viewers are watching the seating arrangements for fans and not follow the game.
