It's my belief that a large part of our failures are down to the constant negativity aimed towards us by the media .

Players constantly being linked to leave the club unsettling players whilst no bids ever being received .
Constant negative stories always in the papers about us, it unsettles the crowd and that filters down to the players on the pitch.
Negativity breeds hostility .
Whilst always publishing powder puff pieces about the other team across the city.
They are causing trouble at almost every game they have had this season yet the media will never mention that it is rangers fans .

Let's give the manager and the board until the end of the window and make our judgments then,
I'm annoyed at things within our club but let's back them and try brining some positivity back into our stands .

And ban the rags from any celtic media events in the future.

Agree6 Disagree0

The media have always been anti Celtic.

Selboy, the problem is that we won’t be doing anything major in the next week and I think we all know it. I’ve not heard anything from BR to indicate he’s confident of bolstering the squad with any quality! . There have been a few valid points about his poor signings I. e. Kouassi Eboue, I mean the lad has been here for 2 years and never been sent on loan which I find bizarre as he’s only made a handful of first team appearances .

I think our club could do more to challenge the negative press we get.
Across the City at Sevco they are forever putting statements out about anything they don't like, even if some of the stories written about them are true.
We on the other hand never seem to comment on anything.
It's all very well keeping a dignified silence, but from time to time you have to put the record straight on certain things, otherwise it only gets worse.
We have lost some sloppy goals lately but to listen to some of the press and media you would think the whole club is in meltdown, it's just nonsense.
Going out of the Champions league was always going to affect the players in the short term, a lot of our planning is geared up for these qualifiers so to fail in them is bound to take a while to get over.
Our board need to get their act together in making a better job of identifying players and closing deals, but they also need to fight our corner better when so much trash is written and said about us.

So you don’t think crashing out if the CL was a problem? Losing McGinn? Going into face the Scouser with a defence like ours is ok? Nott replacing Oaddy and Armstrong is fine? £65m slipped through our fingers. The jury is in and it’s verdict is guilty of negligence.

They can stop making it worse by improving the defence, but they have been tried and found guilty already. Unless you have just emerged from a coma and missed all of the above, the judgement is already in. It’s just the sentence to be delivered. If they do something it might be reduced. That’s as much as they deserve, in fact, it’s mire than they deserve.

Magicpole. It looks to me that Steven Gerrard has got you totally spooked.
Going out of the Champions league was obviously a blow and I have said on here many times that the complacency shown by our board would cost us.
However with the players that are currently at the club we have just won back to back trebles. You make it sound as if we can't compete with the likes of East stirling or Brechin City.
The Champions league exit can't be altered, the club messed up big time, but however angry we are with the way things have been done the only thing we can do is knuckle down to the domestic stuff and make sure we learn the lessons for next time.

The negative and derogatory media have always been a factor as long as I can remember and Big Jock certainly put the fear into them, as did Sir Robert Kelly back in the day and I seem to remember Billy McNeill banning That nob Gerry McNee?
Many other Celtic managers have put up with years of taunting, distraction and even ridicule, while more recently Neil Lennon was more on the front page, than the back when he was manager.
These days Celtic Board rarely challenge, defend or fight our corner and that is why they print what they like; fake, false or fiction.

Gerryc, if Stephen Gerrard has not got you spooked then you know nothing about football. Those players who have won back to back trebles have won 2 out of their last 7 games. In 6 of those games we have conceded at least 1 goal. We are poor. Gloss it over as you like but BR needs to get these players playing much better.

I said we would still win the league. Read what I write, it helps you comment without getting what I am saying wrong.

Magicpole. I suggest you read your own post again. Where in it do you say we will win the league.
I don't know what I've said that has got you and Johnnymac so angry. I was gutted to go out of the Champions league and the transfer dealings have been a shambles, but I don't believe that domestically we have suddenly become much worse than everyone in Scotland, and I don't think that Sevco having signed a lot of out of contract and loan players are now of such quality that we should be terrified of them.
Sevco were always going to improve from last season, how couldn't they?, but how many of their first eleven would you honestly want in our team.
We need to sort things out at the back, but on balance I believe we still have the strongest squad in Scotland by a distance and the manager has to get that belief back into the players.

I said it in another post about if we don’t get anybody in he has to step up because we still have a better pool. Posts drop of the 3rd page and they are gone. For clarification. The board have fecked us up, we are weaker than last year. Our defence is a shambles, but even with all that, if we stand up and fight we are still better than Rangers.

We will win it in spite of the board. But that will take Rogers rallying the troops, and the troops showing their metal. We are in a self inflicted rubbish position. Typical Lawell. But, if we are betrayed with no signings we still should have enough. It will all come down to bottle and leadership.

25 Aug 2018 13:11:35
In fact Gerry my post is two down from this saying I think we will win it. They are overhyped piss.

25 Aug 2018 14:49:10
One more thing. Spooked by the Scouser? Are you having a fecking laugh? He’s getting adulation from a Sevco loving press. He’s improved them. My fecking cat could have improved that pile of utter piss. We will send him back down the road with his tail between his legs. My beef is we could and should have been in a position to fecking smash them into a jam, that doesn’t mean they will win. It’s just I have grown fond of humiliating them every game.

We will beat them on Sunday maybe not by five or six, but we fecking should have been in a position to do that. That’s where my anger comes from. As to that CL money we should have had them they would have been buried and we could enjoy hammering them all the time as well as making a better fist of Europe.
