Was just reading about the Livingston goalie, Liam Kelly, he says the new artificial surface at Livingston, because it's new, is throwing up loads of little rubber pellets, he says "It gets in your eyes, it gets in your ears and goes up your nose. It gets everywhere."

Surely that is a health hazards, there was that story from a while back about the older artificial surfaces, throwing up carcinogens. if Livingston's new surface is throwing up pellets small enough to get up your nose, it could be also throwing up smaller particles, that you might be breathing in, am not in favour of artificial surfaces.

I've been playing on a 2G surface on a weekly basis for years. 2G level is probably 2 levels below the standard these guys or anyone else in Scotland are playing on and i have never once seen someone injured on it. It also has the pellets and if players are honestly complaining about that they should give up football and go do knitting for godsake. Not saying these pitches should be anywhere near Scotlands top league but i think they get blamed for injuries unfairly. As i said i have never seen anyone injured on them and see that Jozo i'd tell him to man up and play on these surfaces or gtf. Picking and choosing what surfaces to play on he's a young lad! imagine saying to Jock stein i'm no playing the day boss i don't like the surface. don't recall anyone moaning years ago when they were playing on concrete or red clay 😂 absolute wimps these days and too pampered. I do want every pitch in Scotland to be grass just making the point that sometimes its the person not the surface.

All the Astro pitches at Celtic training ground in Lennoxtown do the same mate.

Worse post I've seen on here. These are professional athletes playing on plastic pitches, and you are comparing them to you and your mates playing 5s a couple of times a week.

Hip hip horay happyhoppy great observation can i get a medal for that? Nothing to do with what standard of player i am comparing surfaces actually. Poor little athletes having to play on 5G that must be so difficult 😂.

Artificial surfaces have no place in football non stop whether it be 1G,2G or Honey G.

20 Aug 2018 21:22:48
Where did i mention playing 5s, playing with mates, or playing a couple of times a week. Talk about making things up to suit.

20 Aug 2018 21:38:32
The fact is though Ice Man they are everywhere. Unless clubs get together and demand they should not be in the top flight then nothing will change.

How many are at Lennoxtown?

I've always preferred to play on grass but don't thing artificial surface causes injury

Tynecastle has grass but Berra in out for the season after his studs caught and he landed awkwardly

Should we complain about grass as well?

20 Aug 2018 21:54:25
The killie one is brutal shouldn't be allowed av played on it terrible surface.

20 Aug 2018 21:58:47
If uv never seen an injury in all the years uv played it must be walking football 😂.

20 Aug 2018 22:00:37
If you honestly don’t think these pitches are causing injuries you are deluded. My son of 8 has started training on one and it coinsided with him getting constant shin splints. They’re a disgrace. I can’t remember the last time I watched an entertaining game on them either.

Infact who gives a toss about artificial surfaces when a last min goal gets the coupon up. Mane is the man! 😆.

20 Aug 2018 22:07:53
Deluded because i play on them and have never been injured very good! Infact woman play hockey on the one next to us yet to see any of them injured or complain, and i do like to watch 😂 Steph maybe im no even walking. Stationary ogling 😂

Thats a good point Kev.

Celtics first team never train on them they're more for the youth teams. Wonder why.

20 Aug 2018 22:34:05
Not enough grass to go around Mally.

21 Aug 2018 05:58:02
Mally I beg to differ mate. Indoors is Astro as well as always prefer grass.

21 Aug 2018 16:06:27
If there's not enough grass to go around that'll be down to green jhedi.
