Guys, just a quick question. How can Ajax, arguably a smaller club than us who play in a comparitive league, go and spend £14m one one player? While we are always looking for a bargain, I agree with the model we have btw.

I wouldn't say Ajax are a smaller club than us. They are very similar in many ways. A large fish in a small pond and a rare club that actually has a proud history. The eredivisie is a better standard of league for starters not to mention it would still generate much more money than the spl.

Tv deal mate ours is way below everyone's in professional Europe and we deserve more.

They have already spend 10m on Tadic, 7.5m on a 19y/ o from the Belgian 2nd tier and 5m on a midfielder from Utrecht, the Blind and Tadic signings are proven quality but probably go against there singing policy due to their age, they sold klaassen and Sanchez for a combined 60m last year and have just sold Kliuvert for 15m and have assets such as De Ligt and Ziyech who is expected to leave this summer, so I’d say there pretty flush, there signing policy is pretty much the same as ours but they have the luxury of less strident work permit issues so can get youngesters for South America i. e Sanchez for 4.5m, they also pay bigger fees for players while still making money on them when they sell them, not sure about their wage structure but they have been extremely successful in the past at Developing and selling players, with us having signed French Eddy for a record fee with the hope of selling him for a profit a few years down the line it hopefully bodes well for the future that we will stump up the cash for top talent.

They are pretty similar to us in size, a big club in a small league being pushed out by the so called big 4 but given the chance can do well against the big money clubs in a one off game. Did ajax not make the europa final a couple of years ago.

Guys i think our tv revenue is the lowest in Europe So we are kinda ducked them cause we can't expand we suffer loses to lower European team but I'm hoping that's us over this by.

They're not a smaller club than us for starters. They can afford these fees because they have a track record of producing excellent youth players and selling them on for millions over a number of years. Their TV deal is also 3x better than ours (£70M per season) .

Ajax consistently speculate to accumulate and it helps that they don’t have work permit restrictions
They signed Zlatan for 9 million from Malmo - would we have taken such a risk, also those manky EPL clubs are hoovering all the talent up with offering big money and ruining the game and careers especially Chelsea.
There should should be restrictions on many players a club can have on the books seeing as agents and players are not doing what’s best for their careers.
