How horrendous is this VAR pi££

ruining the game when a ref like that is in controle. 5 mins to make wrong decision.

25 Jun 2018 22:14:34
Shocking even the Ronaldo booking was pathetic it’s not even consistent.

25 Jun 2018 22:16:29
Would it be better if the four refs that review the video evidence, back on the mothership, were left with the final decision, so it was taken out of the match day refs hands, and the pressure would be taken of him, as in that instance, when he should have sent Ronaldo off, but he bottled it.

25 Jun 2018 22:34:03
It’s unreal mate they have all those refs sat in a room watching replays then still get the game ref to make final decision.

25 Jun 2018 23:26:10
People just love to moan tbh, but the vast majority of decisions has been called correctly.

there have been numerous dives, penalties and offside decisions correctly overturned from the original decision.

not a good word said about it then, but if 1 bad decision happens people want to criticise.

So what would people prefer? just scrap VAR and allow 5 horrendus and incorrect calls by refs? just to avoud the odd mistake from it?

fact is that it's bringing poor decisions down.

If players didn’t dive/ cheat as much there wouldn’t be a need for it.

Take it you guys didn’t watch the Portugal game last night? Would you be happy for it in all games now? How can 10 refs and umpteen replays they still get the wrong decision they must have done there badges at hampden.

Words fail me. That was a shambles last night. Get VAR consigned to the history bin as a bad experiment.

26 Jun 2018 09:26:49
It's still down to personal interpretation and human error (not to mention honest mistakes when it comes here) .
All it has done is delay games, put more pressure on referees, by making them doubt their own judgement and encouraged some players to 'try it on' and take liberties.
Of course most of the decisions have been correct - when viewed from umpteen angles and varying slo-mo replays, but a good few now have still been wrong and cost games.
This VAR is an elitist toy, complicating the 'Simple Game' even more.

26 Jun 2018 10:26:27
That's fine, but the vast majority of decisions using VAR have been correct this summer and that's undeniable.

If you are happy to get rid of VAR and stick with old ways then don't complain when refs get a decision wrong with only a split second to decide.

VAR is in testing stages just now, so for people to expect it to come in and be totally perfect is just ridiculously unrealistic.

Yet what it has done is overturned wrong decisions the whole tournament, yet where are the people praising it then?

It's not fair to just criticise, it deserves praise when it works also but people were wanting on it failing before it even got tried.

If we had to use VAR in our midweek games we would all miss the last bus home.
