Armstrong going and Mcginn coming in seems to be the general idea. Im not sure im happy with that. I really like Stuart and think he's 10 times the player mcginn is. Mcginn has played well a couple of times against us but every other time I've seen he's been average if not poor. In my opinion and the opinion of a lot of hibees mcgeouch is a better player than him and he was deemed not good enough for celtic.

Armstrong wants a move and it makes good business sense to let him go now.

23 Jun 2018 08:10:48
Armstrong had one good season rest of time he was poor. average. or injured.

23 Jun 2018 08:13:44
I like Armstrong too, but players move on, and hope he can stay injury and does well. Good luck to him.

23 Jun 2018 08:59:04
Armstrong very injury prone young mcginn will do fine.

23 Jun 2018 09:28:26
Armstrong is a better player than McGinn. So, if it’s a straight swap we are going backwards.

23 Jun 2018 11:36:25
No if he's injured all the time mcginn gives u work rate and aggression in bucket loads and he wants to genuinely play for the club.

23 Jun 2018 12:16:13
this is typical, would any off you say that armstrong was a great buy when we signed him along with gms, armstrong was avarage spl player whilst at utd and improved his fame ten fold once we signed him, young mcginn will onley improve as a football when playing with better players around him, probably best example off this paul lambert motherwell - dortmund came back from germany an excellent player, give mcginn a chance if we sign him because he ll have a job on his hands displacing our current midfield.

Spot on lummy nobody would have imagined Armstrong turning out that good so how do we know mcginn won't.

{Ed007's Note - Up until two years ago - until he was 30-years old - there was constant heated debates on here about whether Brown was good enough to play for us or that his legs had gone and he was finished. It's only been in the last 18 months that the entire support were united in their admiration for Brown and as I've said elsewhere McGinn is a better player than Brown was at 23 and he is probably already technically a better and more skillful player than Brown ever has been.}

Lambert was an excellent player at Motherwell, that is why Dortmund bought him, Armstrong was an excellent player at united, that's why Celtic bought him,

Spot on ed a still can't understand some of our posters who don't see this bhoy will do well they say he's not good enough ntcham wasn't good enough McGregor too but they are now makes no sense.

{Ed007's Note - And it'll be nothing to do with McGinn that we only managed to beat Hibs once in the league this season. He bossed the midfield and scored two goals at Celtic Park with Brown missing and at Easter Road when they beat us 2-1 he was immense again, in fact he was the stand out player in every fixture against us except the LC semi.}

If you were to pick between Ntcham McGregor Rogic or Armstrong which two would you pick? Mcginn will be a great domestic addition great potential and that’s the Celtic way but potential improve it then punt for a profit and buy the next one? The squad does need trimmed we still have Biton and Kouassi also. So it’s just money added to the pot hopefully the management have potential new signings lined up. Can’t wait for the league to kick off again World Cup Just ain’t floating my boat yet? ⚽️🍀🏆🏆🏆.

{Ed007's Note - McGregor and Rogic are totally different players and play in different positions to McGinn.}

23 Jun 2018 15:10:41
Do you think we will sign McGinn ed? And heard something about Sam Byram being linked?

{Ed007's Note - I think Byram fancies a move back to Leeds, Ken and yes I reckon McGinn will become a Celtic player this summer.}

23 Jun 2018 17:13:04
Lambo also picked up a cheeky European cup medal on his travels, returned to Scotland and captained us to Seville.

Armstrong will move at some point I reckon it’s good to get cash for him now.

Signing McGinn should be a move we make regardless of SA’s move. He could become something special in the hoops.

A step backwards I do not think so.

23 Jun 2018 19:10:38
fair comment on your opinion on both lambert snd armstrong, aindoh but the point im making is yes they were both id say decent players at motherwell and utd but both improved vastly with better players around them and imo mcginn will also.

23 Jun 2018 19:44:13
Wee McGregor can play anywhere in midfield he has even played left back that’s what I am saying ed does Mcginn slot in beside broony or do you keep Ntcham there it’s a tough one don’t think Mcginn gets a start for me just now but him and Mcgeouch are the only ones to kinda boss our midfield last season.

{Ed007's Note - McGregor can't play the CDM role and gets bullied too easily if he plays in the 2 beside one, that's why his best position is in the AM 3, McGregor would need Rodgers to play with 3 CMs for to flourish further back.
Nobody's saying McGinn will replace Ntcham in the team, he'll replace Armstrong in the squad. Or do we sell Armstrong and loan out Kouassi, weaken the midfield and just hope Brown and Ntcham don't get injured or tired? I really don't see what people can't understand about that.}
