Wanted to ask a a question into how Fifa might improve the game. Watched a lot of the world cup and
After the obvious play acting during games with players going down and rolling about and also taking the piss when being subbed (Mbappe)
Do you think when the play is stopped on these occasions that the clock is stopped as it is in Rugby for injuries. It might cut back on the play acting when you then get players jumping up and running about, it would also cut back on the usual arguments and complaints regarding refs not adding on enough injury time.

Absolutely, it makes perfect sense.

Great idea.

The games are boring enough without stretching them out to cover all the time lost through injuries and substitutions.

I remember reading an article a few months ago about some changes to the game that FIFA were considering. One said that the ball is actually only in play for about 60 minutes a game on average. So they were considering making games 60 minutes long but stopping the clock anytime the ball is out of play similar to what they do in rugby.

I know totally daft but how about giving a place to a UNICEF team drawn from players from all continents from teams that never made it, Griffiths, bale, van dye etc.

Too many beers and off to bed

Sorry gents.

Chris were you saying that when Porto did that to us in Seville? Of course extending the game to cover people cheating is a good idea and would cut it down. I would also use VAR to book players who go down untouched all over the park.
