The Scottish media must be doing their nuts, no leaks of transfer rumours coming out of Parkhead, when they know we will have targets and probably for decent money (not borrowed or fleeced)
Although I love the rumours season I'm delighted that we go about our business in a professional manner.
All they have is to try and link us with the same targets as sevco. It's pretty desperate all round for the blue corner and their daily ranjur fanzine.

The thing i like about our business is the surprise factor. We barely know who we are signing until they are either stepping off the plane at Glasgow airport or in the medical room. We show class and dignity in how we go about signing our players, or have so recently. I’m excited to see who we bring in. I hope we get most of our business done sooner rather than later. We have some important games coming up, I’d imagine Rodgers and the rest of them are working on deals as we speak.

It's best from a business perspective to keep things under the radar. However, I can't stand it! I want to know who we are signing and I want to know now!

JimTim, what’s your own wants for the club in regards to transfers, within our limitations.

11 Jun 2018 13:47:51
A 'keeper (can't see it though) .
A RB (not sure that will happen either) . So, what I'd really like to happen at least, is Edouard signed, an attacking midfielder who can ideally play on the right, and a CB. That's before anybody leaves. Armstrong, I'd be happy replaced with McGinn. If Dembele leaves then I'd like it to be early because that could change the window completely in terms of what we could bring in. What about yourself Ken?

I’m the same as you JimTim, My biggest hope is that we sign Dembele up for another couple years, mainly because that warrants a greater transfer fee in the time that he comes to leave the club. We can only hope.

knowing lawwell it will be last minute bargain buys.

I hope Armstrong stays as on his day he's a top player. I can't see McGinn scoring as many as Stu and I don't thinks he's half as good as Armstrong.

{Ed007's Note - Ignoring the fact that Armstrong wants to leave he scored 4 goals in 39 appearances during the season just past - the exact same as he did in 15/16 under Deila - and and has only managed 27 goals in his 142 appearances over the 3 and a half seasons he's been here. Apart from season 16/17 he's never been a prolific scorer and has only broke into double figures twice in his 8 season career.
McGinn scored 6 goals in 43 apps last season including 2 against us at Celtic Park and one at Ibrox in Hibs 2-1 win there.}

Fingers crossed Dembele 8s here with Edouard next season Ken 🤞.

Whether it be Armstrong or McGinn here next term, Ntcham gets in ahead of either for me. His goal return wasn't too bad for his first season. And he's younger than both SA and JMc.

11 Jun 2018 16:58:11
Ntcham is a quality player and is progressing really well. He will be our next big sale after dembele. Not that I want either of them to leave.

If Dembele goes I think he’ll be replaced with another Edouard type loan signing. If the media have got it right regarding Edouard’s price tag I think Moussa will be off to offset that outlay.

I’ve always thought Rodgers biggest strength was seeing what the fans see in terms of where we need to improve and what are weaknesses are, which gives me confidence that a right back will be signed. I also think the lack of attacking support on that side resulted in Forrest’s average end to the season as he was left to do it all himself on that side. Imagine having another Tierney on the right!? That’s the dream.

I hope we bring in Mcginn, Edouard then a CB and RB. With Armstrong to leave and a few others who are down the pecking order. Dembele signed up for another couple of seasons to inflate his fee when he goes. I’d be very happy with this and maybe a marquee signing at the £5m mark like nitcham last year. I’m just a happy hoop 🤗.

is there anything in that Caulker story, for the CB, or is that just media speculation?, I hope Armstrong stays and McGinn comes in, I know Ed has said that Cochrane at Hearts is a no, no because of all that nonsense, but he is the kind of player you could build a team round, well stranger things have happened, well are going to happen, if you look at Trump and Kim having a love in in Singapore.

Knowing Lawwell, Jamesbhoy, Lawwell will do his level best to buy the players B R wants on the best possible terms . We are lucky we have had Lawwell doing a great job for us and I think he is even better when a manager like Brendan has the right structures around him, to pinpoint as far as possible the right targets.

13 Jun 2018 01:03:11
Dry your eyes Chris, lawwell has kept us back in europe for years, he's a penny pincher, rodgers is frustrated by lawwell's budget restraints, and i know that for a fact.
