Could we have seen the last of Armstrong crystal palace supposed to be kean. Armstrong out mcginn in.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jun 2018 14:43:56
one pays for the other.

09 Jun 2018 17:10:35
If that happens - although I will miss Armstrong - it would mean we have lost a very good midfielder who never really had Celtic at heart, but we will gain another who loves the club and has great potential to be a Celtic great.

09 Jun 2018 17:13:30
If we sold Armstrong and got McGinn in for the same or less, that would be decent business.

10 Jun 2018 00:52:57
I hope not, I would play McGinn and Armstrong together.

10 Jun 2018 01:29:03
And where would u put broon and Ntcham.

10 Jun 2018 04:44:01
I really like Armstrong
OAB but if he really had celtic at heart he would of signed longer than 2 years after messing us about for the majority of last summer window.

10 Jun 2018 04:46:48
I misread your post OAB. Completely agree.

10 Jun 2018 05:44:48
I too like Armstrong and would prefer him to sign long term. If, and i don't know the facts, he is not prepared to sign a new 3 to 4 year deal then he must be sold asap. Anything over £4m would be a decent fee with only a year to run on his current deal.

10 Jun 2018 07:35:12
As he is our biggest goal threat from midfield and best at driving us up the park I would prefer him to stay.

If he goes I'm not sure mcginn would be the ideal replacement as does not offer same goal threat.

10 Jun 2018 07:39:26
The boss has handled this impeccably. With Callum now a starter and Rogic signed on for another 5 Armstrong looks now like an appendage to a very dynamic midfield. He has qualities--but quality alone ain't enough to make it in the hoops. See ya.

10 Jun 2018 10:19:56
He's not been our biggest threat from MF for most of the season. C. Mc has been doing that and doing a pretty decent job imo. I would always start with him nowadays.

10 Jun 2018 12:29:06
I'd get rid of Armstrong tomorrow if the cash was to be invested in Mcginn, the boys got great potential and wouldn't be far off running the show for us.

10 Jun 2018 13:14:35
I don't think he is our biggest threat from midfield TR and CMcG are in Armstrong's case he only signed what he did so we knew the score and the lay of the land

He wasn't the player last season like the player he was the season before if he wants to go to Brighton or Crystal Palace let him that PUB league as Ed calls it is vastly becoming farcical because the biggest VIEWING figures last year was the Sevco game says a lot about there league doesn't it

If I were to pick FIVE players I did not want to leave Celtic he would not make the top five (Y)

10 Jun 2018 13:27:35
Although he’s certainly not Celtic minded I prefer Armstrong by a mile, McGinn is overrated over valued in a mid level premier league team.

10 Jun 2018 13:52:05
Armstrong is surely worth £5mill? Johanson who went to Fulham would get £10mill all day long if he was sold so Armstrong for £5mill? Decent business if he wants to go.

10 Jun 2018 13:58:26
@ Shugmckie: yeah mate but Armstrong has been injured a lot this season. Nut this has then allowed Cal Mac to come into the team more, which ha been great.

10 Jun 2018 14:10:36
Rogic plays a different position to Armstrong, although they are both capable of playing number 10 and CM.

While McGregor can play CM, his most prolific spell is when he was playing further up the park.

I am considering Armstrong as a CM in this instance and comparing him to others who play the role. At the moment his main contender for the role is Ntcham.

I do concede that Armstrong did not have a great season this year but he was out for a long spell with a hernia and I suspect that hampered his performances earlier in the season.

No one at Celtic in the CM produced figures like Armstrong did last season and I am sure he can get back to that standard.

I know that some of you have different opinions from me and that is absolutely fine but as far as I see it I would prefer Armstrong to McGinn.

10 Jun 2018 14:53:13
I would definitely keep Armstrong. Injury has blighted his season but that boy is head and shoulders above most of our midfield. Hope he stays🍀🍀🍀.

10 Jun 2018 16:38:12
Mgregor has scored more than Armstrong.

10 Jun 2018 17:15:53
On last seasons form, regardless of stats or positions played i think our 3 most consistent and influential midfielders were Brown, Ntcham and McGregor.

10 Jun 2018 17:18:39
Yes this season McGregor has scored more than Armstrong but McGregor's stats for this season do not compare with Armstrong's from last season.

10 Jun 2018 18:07:42
Raw . he has more goals in total.

10 Jun 2018 18:49:47
McGregor has scored 3 more goals than Armstrong but played 24 games more.

Armstrong has only had one top season at Celtic and in that season he scored more than McGregor has ever scored in a season.

Anyway this is all moot as I'm not comparing McGregor with Armstrong. The point being discussed is Armstrong or McGinn. My view is Armstrong is a better player than McGinn and for that reason I would not want to swap one for the other.

10 Jun 2018 19:06:29
I honestly think everyone is looking past the ability of Mcginn and what he'd bring to the team, Leedscelt says he's mid level! Put him in amongst our midfield and he'll come on leaps and bounds.

10 Jun 2018 20:03:22
I would like him to stay but I would not put him in ahead of Ollie now but accepted he is a bit different and would be content for him to continue

I honestly don't see why he is not like LG and happy there you could pick ten rubbish teams in that EPL easily 👍.

10 Jun 2018 20:56:25
Raw . that's the point Armstrong has had one good season . whether he stays and improves remains to be seen seen . mgregor has improved season on season . not looking to wind you up or start an argument . was pointing out mgregors stats as response to your statement about Armstrong being our biggest goal threat from midfield. re mginn remember how many people where down on Armstrong when he signed . similar scenario?

10 Jun 2018 22:47:40
@DRB - As I pointed out earlier it is all about opinions and it is absolutely fine for you to have a different one from me mate.

By the way I am not saying Armstrong should be in the team ahead of McGregor and I agree that McGregor has had a fine season for us this year.

My point is I would prefer Armstrong over McGinn and I think an in form Armstrong is our biggest goal threat from CM.

11 Jun 2018 00:21:19
IT really does show how little we have to talk about this window, when we have so many posts about Armstrong and McGinn.
