May be stating the obvious, but scotland are embarrasing without the celtic regulars and maybe even strachan?

That’s your SPFL level players right there and that’s what happens when your elite players ain’t there, only Johnny Russell did anything to say he can remain in the squad the rest apart from GKs where rotten

Strachan only has himself to blame as he should have had the Celtic players in the team from the start.

100% sure McGinn, Morgan, McTominay, will remain in the squad, it was an end of season friendly, in that heat/ altitude, an entire team of regulars unavailable, against a team preparing for the world cup and who put 3 past Belgium (ranked 3rd in the world) . It may not have been pretty but i certainly ain't going to moan im quite happy with the experience and game time some players got particularly our youngsters Morgan, Hendry, and Christie.

Does it really matter who plays? The manager is a relic, well past his sell by date, who lived off a Birmingham City league cup win, which itself was lucky.

Anybody would have been better than Strachan continuing, he had totally lost the plot, being loyal to players who were past their best, and underperforming every time he picked them, ignoring younger more talented players because they lacked experience, and what is it with Phillips?, these are meaning less friendlies, i know the und 21s, are playing a tournament, but surely McLeish should being using these games to try out new people, instead of bringing one of Strachàns failures.

The tour was a huge waste of time and money and nothing more than a 'bus-mans holiday' with nothing learned or gained.
It's no wonder this country is floundering and failing with pathetic ranking and reputation; while McLeish the dinosaur will always have one eye on Govan, hoping his dream job arises when Sevco Steve fails.

Who cares about Scotland?

03 Jun 2018 23:51:37
Don’t think there’s ever been a time when I’ve cared less about how Scotland get on! Getting McLeish back in was the final straw for me! I wouldn’t care if any of our players were never picked again to be honest! Scotland games are nothing more than inconvenience!

Plenty people do James, try telling that to Griffiths, Gordon, McGregor, Tierney, Armstrong, Forrest, Morgan, Bain, Hendry etc, or our Captain although retired. Some people are quite patriotic about the country of their birth. There was nothing better than seeing Griffiths score 2 against England. Each to their own though the people who don't are entitled not to care they are not a miss as all they do is moan. I stopped going laterly under Strachan but intend to start going again with a group of about 10 other Tims who i had been going to games with since the 90s, so yes plenty Celtic supporting Scots do care.

The problem is the lack of qualification over the last number of years (France 1998 was it? )
A whole generation of supporters haven’t experienced the excitement of watching Scotland at the World Cup.
Granted i always fret about Celtic players getting crocked
And I think the appointment of ‘big eck’ Is horrendous
But watching the World Cup (used to be) something special.
I wonder what all our Irish celtic fans feel about the republic at the World Cup?
Is there the same anti national team rhetoric as there is with a section of the Scottish celtic fans?

James thinks he’s Irish Stan.

04 Jun 2018 14:24:18
Island celt it's hardly the same situation is it. Plenty of Scottish tims that went years ago had to sit and listen as celtic players took pelters at Scotland games. And that's the ones that were given game time at all, that's why a lot don't care, personally I've never been to a Scotland game, infact any international game for that matter and I probably never will, it just doesn't interest me.

No one has to follow the national team - I do
But each to their own
I’ve been in hampden baccknin the 80’s and 90’s before the national side went completely dross and loved the craic
Watching Scotland and the whole 1990 World Cup was a great experience for me as a youngster.
My point about Ireland is that the Irish supporting celts seem to (on the whole) follow their national team and many Celtic fans (Irish and Scots) seem to revel if celtic players play for the republic.
In my celtic are a Scottish club with a great Irish tradition and heritage, as opposed to an Irish Club who are based in Scotland
But as I say each to their own.

I am Irish Gerry, and very proud that i come from an Irish family, and I'm also proud to support an Irish Catholic club formed for families like mine.
