Given the latest misquotes from Dermot will the media ever learn? I, like most other fans, believe that the constraints on advancement European wise might lead BR to consider a move. This however is by no means a done deal.

Looking at the man himself he is clearly a principled and clever individual. He has stated countless times how much he loves the club and how happy he is. He is also ambitious, talented people usually are. He has also stated that he would fancy a crack in Spain. Honestly, i think the EPL is no big deal for him.

He also lost both parents at a pretty early age, this focuses the mind, believe me i know. Life is different after that stuff. Contentment is a wonderful thing, don't underestimate it. Besides who can say for sure he can't achieve his goals with Celtic?

Might he fancy the idea of becoming a Maley or Stein? A huge figurehead that echoes through the clubs history? His wife loves it here, that always helps, but BR loves Celtic. Overhaul everything at the club, set the standards and move up to the board while still in control of all football matters working with a manager he has mentored for the job.

Nothing is set in stone. but to be the guy in charge at ten in a row, now that's big.

Agree6 Disagree1

Can't see him moving up to the board or mentoring any future successor. A manager should have full control! I said on here previously a manager of Brendan Rodgers stature would only come to this league ( I get he's a fan) if he was giving specific guarentees. Bear in mind he signed a 4 year deal to begin with if I'm not mistaken so the board have obviously giving him assurances that sufficient funds will be made available to him to achieve his objectives which Brendan was clearly satisfyed with hence why he signed. This is only the start the best is yet to come👍.

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers initially signed a one-year rolling contract but then signed a four-year deal at the end of last season.}

My personal shout for Arsenal would be Diego Simeone before BR, and hopefully they get Diego Simeone.

Keep BR at Celtic, failing that then DD should fight tooth and nail to keep him. Unless there's a wee clause or agreement between these two guys.

Coming through the darkness in your life takes time and one can only see a flicker of light at times, but as time passes that light get's brighter and we get more bolder and confident to take on bigger challenges, or we understand where we need to be and accept what we have is all that we need. my hied hurts. Hail Hail.

He will leave but not before the 10, that was the reason he signed the 4 year deal.
The MSM are just desperate for him to go.

I stand corrected ED, again 4 years is a massive commitment and Brendan hasn't done that just because he is a fan, he has objectives and the board have convinced him that they are prepared to help him achieve them.

I don't think there is any doubt Brendan wants to be the manager who leads the club to 10 in a row. He also has ambitions of making an impression in Europe. He will also expect the board to get our big players tied down and only accept outrageous bids for any of our big hitters.

The Sevco element in the media can't accept Celtic acting like a big club and will make any negative headlines they can in terms of linking our manager and players with every club out there in the hope it returns the new club to " where they belong". Let the good times roll! hail hail.

BR said he wants to leave a legacy hh.

It is only natural that BR's name will be mentioned for the Arsenal job. Especially by smsm who are desperate to undermine anything we do.
Now they have the perfect channel to dampen their attack on sevco and turn towards headlines for us and loss of BR.
However, I believe that to achieve the success that Arsenal want then they will look abroad. I base this on the recent success of Man City and Liverpool and let's not forget Man Utd are not exactly unsuccessful under Mourinho.
I also believe BR wants to achieve something here and will still be in a nice position to leave after the 10.
BR is also a man of honesty and integrity and, having signed the 4 year deal will not walk away and be seen as a mercenary.
Although, I also bear in mind, Celtic today stated they would not block BR should Arsenal approach.

20 Apr 2018 17:53:42
Paper talk however maybe coincidence but BR came out yesterday to say he was happy at Celtic and it seemed an out of the blue comment? I posted about it. Wonder if his agent was approached re Arsenal and that prompted his statement or maybe im looking for something that's not there.

The club should never stand in anyone's way imo, big clubs move on👍.

some people may look at Arsenal's stadium and think Arsenal in the EPL is a big club .
Others look at Celtic Pk in the East End of Glasgow in a Country population of 4.5 m approx and take a look at Celtic 's history and would also say a big club . Why risk career on going to Arsenal whose out going manager has been there for 22 years . I remember a big club in EPL whose manager was there even longer and who have appointed 3 managers subsequently and all three have been various degrees of failure
Is Brendan a fool?
