Ed, What do you make of CD comments on Dembele wanting to leave. Do you still think we will have him beyond January. I personally can't see BR playing him ahead of players who are committed. I know that won't do any good for getting his value up but unfortunately that is the position we now find ourselves in with him. I certainly would not start him ahead of Griffiths or Edouard and as i said yesterday would now happily accept £20m with 15% sell on clause and wish him all the best as i don't see his form improving with his mindset the way it is. A shame it has come to this after only 18 months but that's modern footballers for you. that's why i would happily have taken Maclean and McCarthy up the road atleast they would give us 4 years plus loyalty and no doubt end their careers at CP. Still gutted for McCarthy after what we spoke about recently.

{Ed007's Note - Davies hasn't said anything we didn't already know and until there's any actual bids he won't be going anywhere. }

ED. What would your minimum fee to be accepted? Mine, right now with the injuries and a sluggishness, would be 12m with a good add on or 15 with a lower percentage. As ever however the balls with Moussa i suppose.

{Ed007's Note - £20 million is the minimum I would accept and a 10% sell-on clause. You really think his value has at least halved because of the last 6 months? Clubs still know how good he is when fit and focused and the potential that he has, 6 months of niggly injuries shouldn't change anything - he's still scored 40 goals in 70 games for us and some people are writing off a 21-year-old kid who's been unlucky to pick up a few minor injuries and lost his confidence a bit.}

Cheers Ed. Fingers crossed for a busy week ahead.

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully mate (yes)

It's £20m atleast for me also with sell on clause. I have probably been harsh on him since yesterday but taking a step back and a look at reality if he leaves having made us £20m+ we should all be very grateful. When he does leave i will continue to watch his career like i do VVD and Wanyama. I would be the same with Armstrong. It is easy to get worked up about people leaving us but if truth be told if i was offered more cash elsewhere id be off in the morn 😂 Do you think Paddy is still an option to buy Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah Roberts is still an option but any move for him will be in the summer.}

Thanks Ed, i see what your saying, and i would never write the boy off, but this may be in his head? What i mean is he has had niggling injuries at the wrong time for us. Maybe he will not go flat out in case a huge contract is weeks, or now days, away.

Right now i just don't see us getting 20m, ordinarily i would agree with the 20-25m figure as you pointed out his goal ratio is excellent. I fear, like many before him he might have had enough of scotland, not Celtic.

{Ed007's Note - Do you think it might be a fear of injury that's making him play so erratically? As I said the other day he's playing like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and the constant speculation about his future won't be helping his mental state. For me it's time the January window was scrapped altogether.}

Glad to hear it, cheers Ed.

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully once he comes back he gives us the kind of performances that will get the board to splash the cash on him.}

You know what i think of him, to get him on a long term deal would be in my opinion our best signing in a decade. On form just a joy to watch and one of the few that gets you off your seat every time he has the ball.

{Ed007's Note - I'd love to see Roberts sign up longer term. Imagine having KT, Ajer, Kouassi, Ntcham, Roberts and maybe Edouard all hitting their prime together?}

If Dembelle played for Lille for eg he would be 30m min, and they not in CL. I think they tryin to punt a player for 30m or so and I never heard of him.
We got to stop underselling IMO look at the crazy stuff down south, quotes so far 30m Sturridge, 20m Carroll, 50m Dzeko, 1 can't get a game ever and is constantly injured, next is a long ball guy and constantly injured and other is 31 and at end of career but want 50m its laffable.

Our guy has much more potential than any of them and has potentially a huge sell on fee none of the above have.

He definitely has some kind of burden on him. I think he will start tonight, massive shout for the boy. On Petrovs reply, add Ralston and the boy Millar and that is a strong group of young players.

23 Jan 2018 14:54:14
That's the kind of thing klopp said he was going to do at Liverpool, buy relatively young and let them gel together then they all hit their prime in a functioning team. Obviously we need to buy teenagers whereas they can pay the £20 million for an early 20's player that's already shown he can cut it.

Ralston and Johnston too. Would be amazing to see these guys stick together for a good 3 to 4 seasons.

Good shout FGJ, forgot about Miller. Not saying Sinclair is going anywhere soon but in future id like to see Johnstone and Miller compete for the left wing spot. I think Miller is being wasted at left back. I think it is a ludicrous decision trying to make him a full back when he was voted best youngster on the planet left wing. Get him in at left wing and let him go do his thing he might turn out to be better than Sinclair within a year or 2.
