2 words for today
Kristoffer Ajer.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 Dec 2017 19:48:54
Thought Ajer was excellent Kev but had Ncham or Broon as my MOTM. ☘️.

23 Dec 2017 20:15:49
Ajer just edged it for me today. Who officially got it?

23 Dec 2017 20:16:37
Ajer was super today. So composed on the play and a tower of strength in their air. Mad to think he's only 19. Lads what's then story with griffs?

23 Dec 2017 20:40:20
Broon officially got MOTM which IMO he deserved. I've heard the manager and Grif have issues due to his attiitude at training but is that because he's not playing? Our most prolific scorer since Henrik and not that long ago we were talking about him beating the kings record. Does anybody have a wee question mark over Rodgers in terms of having an ego problem and it's either my way or the byway? Just throwing it out there!

{Ed007's Note - There's no question mark over it, that's the rules and rightly so. And everybody knew he had an ego before he took over.}

23 Dec 2017 21:01:32
Fair enough Ed as long as we all know where we stand with Rodgers. I'm a big fan and applaud all he's achieved but an ego is never a good thing for me.

{Ed007's Note - Look at the problems we had with a one of the lads type manager (Lennon) and the quiet reserved professor type (RD). It was no coincidence that Mulgrew, Commons and Stokes all found themselves heading to the exit when Rodgers came in. I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Rodgers invited Brown to his house for dinner and the conversation turned to the dynamics of the squad.}

23 Dec 2017 21:29:04
Tommy Burns didn't have an ego problem it was all about Celtic the club he lived and the fans and we played some of the the best football I've seen Celtic play in my lifetime under him. As I said EGO can never be a positive for me but as they say opinions are like arseholes we all have one Ed. God Bless.

{Ed007's Note - There's a difference between having an ego and having an ego problem. TB couldn't control Pierre, Di Canio and Caddette. Brendan Rodgers has managed rat scumbags like Suarez and Jack The Lads like Gerrard, he knows how to manage players and you need an ego and confidence in your own ability to do that.
So do you think when Rodgers talks about what the Club means to him and how important the fans etc are he's only saying what people want to hear?}

23 Dec 2017 21:48:23
Agreed Ed there is no issue with a belief in your ability but there is a differential between an EGO and an EGO problem. Time will tell which Rodgers has. Goodnight and God Bless Ed. I'm off to my Peter ☘️.

{Ed007's Note - Night buddy, God bless.}

23 Dec 2017 22:01:34
Time has already told. 4 trophies 69 unbeaten run 2 champions league qualifications and European football after Xmas.
The manager is in charge he picks the team. If a player doesn't like it or don't toe the line then goodbye. Doesn't matter what player.

23 Dec 2017 22:49:44
Big Jock took no crap from players, press or peers and could back up his attitude with his success and stature.
BR is in the same mould and will prove to be a legend at Celtic and those who try to hinder or upset the harmony, objectives and confidence within the dressing room will be out on their arse - and regret making the biggest mistake of their lives, having such an opportunity and flushing it away.

23 Dec 2017 22:51:59
Agree with Ed. Ego is not always a bad thing. As regards Griff its likely he could be off in the window. His attitude just can't be right in training. He is now 3rd choice striker and now if you want to talk about egos I don't think he will want to stay and fight for his place. He could be off.

23 Dec 2017 23:43:01
I was thinking it was something like that. That is a shame to hear. Be sorry to see him go if he does in the transfer window.

24 Dec 2017 00:18:34
Griffith's for me is by far the best striker at the club. Dembele will be off in January/ summer. Griffith's for me has nothing to prove on the park for Celtic the boy is a natural goalscorer that can score all types of goals. Personally Griffith's would start ahead of dembele every week for me.

{Ed007's Note - It's all about his bad additude, not trying in training and umpteen massive fall outs with Rodgers. By a sheer quirk of fate the stories about bust ups etc always happen just because he didn't start a game, we had them last December/January too and I'm sure his appearances are similar.
Nobody I know has told me there's any problems with LG, the guy came out and said so himself and people still prefer to believe pish off Tw@tter or what someone said in the pub.}

24 Dec 2017 01:03:02
We need to be careful with this labelling of B R with his ego. Show me a manager anywhere who hasn't got an ego and I will say he hasn't won much .
There is only room for one "ego" in dressing room and that is the manager .
I am delighted with B R 's self awareness and long may he continue boasting his own ego, so that his. and our club "ego " may continue.

{Ed007's Note - I feel like Scrooge here - I must be having a dream of Christmas present if I'm agreeing with you, Chris. I feel woozy again lol

24 Dec 2017 10:27:21
Eds totally right. Griffiths has played over 20 times this season. This happens every time he's on the bench.
Johnnymac Griffiths has stayed and fought for his place everytime he's needed to. Under Lennon Ronny and rogers. Why would now be different?

24 Dec 2017 20:41:04
Ed007 . Don't worry even you can be right once a year .

Happy Christmas Ed and good health in 2018.

{Ed007's Note - Merry Christmas, Chris and all the best in the new year.}

24 Dec 2017 22:15:54
I am 100% behind BR. He has a deep rooted passion for the club that most fans will understand. Griff, on the other hand, he's a super talented lad who has to accept what the boss says. If he has an issue with that then BR has to make a decision about what is in the best interests of the club and I think we can all agree that he should have the final call.

If an individual is upsetting the dynamics of the squad (and I'm not saying Griff is because I don't know) then that individual has to go. If that is the case then it's a very disappointing situation. BR has the ability to make Griff a better player than he already is but he has to listen and take on board what he is being told.

With BR I don't think it's an ego, it's more a genuine confidence in his own ability and he expects others to tow the line. I do think he's a modern version of Ferguson/ Stein/ Paisley etc. Their methods wouldn't work today if they were new to the game because players nowadays hold so much of the power about who they play for but BR is clearly trying to take all of the facts into consideration and we need to back him. HH.

24 Dec 2017 22:17:54
I think this ego problem is, how you say?, a diversionary tactic, some players need to keep playing so that they can become a team, this squad rotation is crap, was crap and will always be crap, Ronnie, blessed be his name believed in that, but it is crap, Griffith's and Dembelle are the two best strikers at the club, do you think they can sit on their arses on the bench week in and week out, and then be given a starting place, after weeks of idleness in terms of first team football and you expect them to be like they were six weeks ago, it is ridiculous, what had happened, has Brendan started reading, Ronnie's "how to manage a football team, for dummies", book that he left behind him.

24 Dec 2017 22:21:52
Rangers supporter here so go easy on me. I think the problem with LG not playing is a much simpler one and down to money. How could Celtic possibly sell dembele for 20M+ if he can't get into the starting 11. Because of this Dembele will ALWAYS get the nod. It's a shame because I think LG offers a lot more but he may have leave to have a chance of playing unless he is happy to sit on the bench until Dembele leaves.
