It's a sad day when you agree with Kris Boyd's column. I believe this team is good enough to put the open playing philosophy into use in the Europa League but we must learn lessons with regards to the elite teams and adapt.

Agree3 Disagree7

He's a prize fud who needs to be ignored.

What part do you agree with exactly that Celtic are embarrassing boyd has never scored in the champions leauge group stage his opinion means nothing we beat anderlecht 3 0 away from home playing the same formation if we had defended like we would have done under Martin oneil we wouldn't have got the result personally I would rather watch good attacking football than Walter Smiths park the bus anti football that boyd thinks we should play.

24 Nov 2017 16:21:05
Of course I agree that it was embarrassing Gordo, we got beat 7-1! And your point about the Anderlecht game just sums up the problem I have with some of our fans and BR when it comes to Europe. There’s this crazy notion that we need to pick between expansive football or defensive football when there’s absolutely no reason to do so. We can play the nice football against a team like Anderlecht but that doesn’t mean we can’t shut up shop against PSG to avoid a roasting. If changing styles to suit the opponent is good enough for guys like Fergie and Mourinho then it’s good enough for us.

Boyd's own managers always leave him out of the team when they face Celtic, they obviously don't think he is good enough.
Whilst he can't even get in Kilmarnock's team when they play us, he is in no position to criticize us for the way we play against one of the world's top teams.
He is just a bitter old hun.

Kevbhoy everyone is entailed to there own view but for me we have been better in Europe this year apart from the psg games we have hardly played bad and I personally rather get beat playing better to watch football than park the bus who cares what the media has to say about it.

24 Nov 2017 17:46:08
Gordo I love our style of play, I really do but surely 2/ 3 games a season we can swallow our pride and try to get through these tough away games with a bit of pride still intact. It’s not just the media, there are a lot of Celtic fans really not happy about this. Anyway, it’s done now and like I said hopefully the EL will provide us with a more accurate measure of where we are as a team and in particular playing in our chosen style.

24 Nov 2017 18:11:39
True mate we probaly should but one game it's going to pay off and it will all be worth it el is more our level I would say.

24 Nov 2017 18:35:20
The only way we are going to improve our style of play is by testing it against the very best, and learning it's weaknesses when they are ruthlessly exposed. Apart from these hidings we've had against the top 3 or 4 teams in the world our results have been quite good, beating the champions of Belgium, Norway, Kashakstan, Drawing twice with Man City, etc.

I'm quite optimistic about a run in the Europa League, there are no super teams in it and I think we can take on anyone outwith that group of 4 or 5 teams, the ones that can thrash anyone, even each other.

24 Nov 2017 22:49:02
he gets paid to criticise us so guess what he does? criticises us! big wow, whos surprised? he's done his job, took his 30 quid, away hame.

its worked tho, cos even I'm talking about him. agree he's a fud and thick as chet, also he is not a journalist - so why anyone reads that is beyond me.

his spell checker must be on overtime.

Got to agree with kevbhoy on this one. Our CL tactics need to take into account the opposition.

Boyd is an inarticulate, babbling, stuttering twat with an IQ that matches his 100m sprint time.

Every time i see him with Commons he sounds as if he has great difficulty striving a coherent sentence together.

I couldn't give a single feck what he says. He's like a pub bore who prattles out a load of shite before he leaves early to catch his bus.

Bellend.

There's a rumour going around that Mike Ashley's on his way back to buy out King. The timing of a few things are interesting - 1/ Selling Newcastle so he's free to take control of another 2/ No manager in place over the water 3/ Preventing the 'tic from getting 10 in a row 4/ Having the bears eating out his hand if he does. If he doesn't, that lot will implode.

{Ed007's Note - Mike Ashley won't be buying TRIFC. Even if it was true all he would do is give them loans, that's all he ever done with Newcastle.}
