I read a thread on here yesterday criticising the length of ban the Falkirk player got for verbally abusing Dean Shiels and I was disappointed by the thread.
What was there to criticise? Was it because Shiels is an ex Sevco player?
This young lad lost an eye at age 8 and in my mind anyway, courageously overcame it to become a professional football player. I think the Falkirk player got off LIGHTLY.
And to the boy Shiels pay no attention to these idiots.

Aye aye aye.

I also think the ban was a Tate excessive, I bet a lot worse has been said in an old firm game also did matteratzi get a ban for having nasty words with zidane? . I DO NOT CONDONE what was said what so ever but a young guy in the heat of the moment has crossed the line, this should be a 1 or 2 match ban and a fine from his club then a line drawn under the incident. The fact he's an ex hun has no bearing on my decision.

If I remember the thread was implying that jack the new Scotland international was given a reprieve even though in clear sight of most officials and the cameras. He kicked out and flung an opponent to the ground but this act of near gbh was flung out by zombie Sevco sympathising appeals panel. The Falkirk boy even how disgusting his actions were they were only words and gets an 8 game ban? Think that was the point they were trying to get across?

There are certain things in life you can say and certain things you cant.

Sheils has a "disability" and its really not okay to attack someone verbally over a disability.

I get it, but this wasn't idle banter, the guy lost control and let his mouth open.

It falls into the same category as racism, it could even be prosecuted by the rossers.

4 / 8 / 12 match ban is all they could dish out, I think they got it right with an 8 match ban.

whether the rules need to change, another story but they guy crossed a line he shouldn't cross, its all about respect.

@digbanger Exactly.

also I didn't read the other post as belittling the offence by the player, more slagging off the "justice" system in Scottish fitba

which we all know is a joke,

What’s the difference to calling someone a fat bastard, or specky whatever, I think your over dramatising this a bit, and you will find worse things said at any school, this country is a nanny state as it is.

11 Nov 2017 08:36:33
Got to agree with memaself it's a man's game you get worse at school Pc gone mad so is calling ginger people a crime now calling someone fat is that a crime calling a man with one eye a one eyed c##t it's not nice but true 8 games for saying something like that is ridiculous 2 would have been more than enough if he had booted him up the arse he would have got less games I think that's the point the original post was meaning physically you get less games than verbal.

11 Nov 2017 12:31:09
As gordo says the thug in the blue shirt is over physical maybe not gbh but if a copper saw that in the street at 3 am as a club comes out kicking a guy then throwing him to the ground he would be done but in Scottish football the officials see it it’s on camera for all to see but for whatever reason he is let off? But a guy making a verbal insult gets 8 games a bit lop sided? And I played Saturday morning Glasgow amateur football for years so no uj never brought up in a monestry 🍀.
