That's wee Chesney away. Hopefully the Cabal are next. Who do you think would be a good candidate for the next manager? No doubt the press will throw in mcleish and Walter in the frame garbage.

Moyes and MacKay are being touted as favourites atm. Somebody who's willing to play guys on merit will do for me.

12 Oct 2017 15:53:46
Someone who doesn't have his head filled with a system, like WGS and Ronnie, and tries to pick players to fit the system, rather get someone who picks the best players and uses a system that works for those players.

12 Oct 2017 15:58:05
Have to say that I can't stand the guy but we need a winner and the only guy I can think of is Sir Purple Nose Ferguson himself.

12 Oct 2017 16:16:49
I would do a better job than moyes! Maybe I'm in the minority here but I think strachan was the right man. Another crack at it and I think he would have done it.

12 Oct 2017 16:20:09
Hopefully broony retires and focuses on the champs.

12 Oct 2017 16:26:46
Tommy Wright fae st Johnstone for me.
He lives in scotland
He knows all the home based players so hopefully wouldn't just give a game to anyone just because they've kicked a baw in England
He tries to play decent football when he can but can shut up shop when it's needed
He knows how to do a job without very much resources.

12 Oct 2017 17:33:28
Would not be a bad shout Kev.

12 Oct 2017 17:40:09
Anyone who is willing to play on form players and youth. Its a pity the SFA wouldn't GTF aswel so we can totally start over with forward thinking people.

12 Oct 2017 18:20:01
Good shout Kev plus it would stop the Huns getting him which in my opinion they should have done! ☘️.

12 Oct 2017 18:40:13
Think they probably brought Malky McKay in as a ready made replacement - although another 'Celtic Connection' may not sit well with the kirk?

12 Oct 2017 20:04:10
Malky McKay doesn't sit well with me never mind the bloody Kirk.
What about Lambert with jim Duffy on the staff?
Or a left field one here Harry rednapp.

12 Oct 2017 21:09:06
Spot on stan. The Huns should have went for Tommy Wright Kev but the people will be against him now for comments about Para Pedro! It's their big club mentality that they think guy's like Wright aren't big enough for them. Alas just a mediocre team without any EBT's.

12 Oct 2017 21:48:19
What is the salary offered for the national job? Seen something a few years back saying Craig Levein was on £400k?

12 Oct 2017 22:27:20
Lambert Duffy and McNamara. The Zombies would be crying into their coco pops.

12 Oct 2017 22:33:46
If the Northern Irish don't qualify I'don't be happy with Michael O'Neill. Gets results out of an average overaged squad of players. Ideally someone that will bring through the next gen of players.

13 Oct 2017 07:49:35
Doesn't need to be a big manager fae a big club. Craig Brown came from Clyde if I mind right.
His biggest strength was he knew how to organise a team. That's what we need now. We have soon great player but not many. Get someone who knows how to work like that.

13 Oct 2017 09:20:17
Wee Craig followed on from Andy Roxburgh as I recall and was assisting him before stepping up.

13 Oct 2017 09:59:08
Look at the guys we have had since then. 3 old firm managers. Done nothing. Very experienced German. Done nothing. Being at big club or a big name means nothing.

13 Oct 2017 10:39:44
I don't get why Kenny Dalglish is not getting mentioned.
I wouldn't touch McLeish with a barge pole, Moyes needs to do a decent job somewhere before getting in contention and as for San Allardyce, I think I'd need counselling if he got the job.

13 Oct 2017 12:11:11
Kev83, Wright is a very good shout. Like I said, I don't think the job requires a big name, just somebody who can see the bigger picture and pick guys who deserve it and abandon the old pals act.

13 Oct 2017 18:17:33
You don't want someone who was successful at club level, because he could go out and buy better players, if he wasn't happy with the status quo, you can't do that at international level, you need someone who can get the best out of the best players available, who is not afraid to give youth a chance, you need someone who rewards ability and form, but in the first place has to be a good man manager,

13 Oct 2017 21:41:29
So if you are successful at club level that rules you out then aindoh? Can you take it one step further and make the criteria that you either had to prove yourself to be absolutely crap at club level or never have managed at all before?
What utter bollocks.

14 Oct 2017 11:32:15
Maybe the grammar was wrong, English was never my best subject, I meant to say, you don't want someone who was ONLY successful at domestic level because he could bring out the cheque book and buy better players if he wasn't happy with the status quo,
