Why I hate international breaks.
1) they disturb our rhythm in the league
2) always chance of our players picking up an injury as we have more than any other club in league away,
my point made already with Simonovic and now Lustig, worried about Boyata playing two games also in 4 days
3) players like Rogic come back knackered after long tiring flights
4) does not give Rodgers much time to prepare for next game.

Guess that's the case for most Clubs who have a decent standard of player. Problem with being in Scotland is it's only really Celtic that will have an abundance of players away on International duty. Looking forward to seeing our Bhoys in action tomorrow it's made me enjoy watching Scotland again, even without Brown and Armstrong expecting 5 to start.

That would be my team to a T Stan but no doubt Strachan will put in Fletcher and either McArthur/ Bannan for McGinn and McGregor taking away any pace or goal threat we have in midfield.

Whilst it obviously is a worry for Club managers, like Stan says, Timbo, players getting called up is often just part and parcel of having a good side. Whilst injuries and fatigue are the cons, the pros are experience, as well as increased profile and a possible raise in stock. Take Boyata for example. Now Belgium have already qualified, and have the likes of Kompany and Vertonghen out, but him playing for Belgium could do both him and Celtic the world of good. People talking about a centre half in the summer, I bet if they were offered a 26-year-old Belgium International with CL experience, they would have creamed their knickers. The more players get called up, the better we will probably be looking.

With me it's just not about having decent players that get well-deserved international recognition and accepting that. It's more to do with our clubs long standing, tainted and tarnished history and relations with our nemesis the SFA.

@Once a Bhoy exactly the cheating SFA have turned me right off Scotland.
Also if Scotland somehow win these two games they go into 2 playoff games in November again interfering with our CL games. Then miracle of miracles they qualify for the world cup in Russia, Celtic will have about 6 key players playing all summer without a break and will come back knackered to play in FOUR CL qualifying rounds, no pull all our players out today, let Pedro's "professionals" carry the mantle lol.

I old enough to remember when Scotland qualified every time for the World Cup finals. 1978 in Argentina was the first I remember and was the most incredibile tournament with Scotland being so bad v Peru and then that goal and beating Holland. Every World Cup up to 1998 we were there always going out in the group stage but always giving us a great summer of football to be involved with. It is so long since we qualified that we have a whole generation who don’t know what it’s like to support Scotland at a major tournament finals. That’s why I want us to qualify so there is meaningful footy in the summer and we don’t have to “ pick any team but England”.

Totally agree Edg, used to love going to the pub to watch Scotland play in the world cup and euro's.
