With the progress of Armstrong, I am hoping our no.1 target is pat Roberts.

Is there any realistic chance of signing him?

Very little chance I would think. Man City paid £12mill. Not a lot for them but they will want to get as close to that back as possible. He won't fit into thr Man City set up so they will look to flog him. Not sure he will go for £12m but maybe £7 to £10m into a lower premier league team but won't be with us. Would you suggest paying £10mill for him? Good player but not for £10mill.

It's been said on here many a time that he didn't actually cost man city £12m it was £5m up front am sure with the rest made up of add ons for epl appearances and call ups. So it would probably be more £5/ 6m if we were to follow it up. Worth that much surely?

I doubt City will have even paid £10m Johnny. There were all sorts of add-ons etc. What I think City would want, I would pay.

My gut feeling though, from some of the noises the player has made, is that he might look elsewhere anyway. But that's obviously just my idiosyncratic hunch.

Think city know that with the crazy prices down there, they can get much more than twelve million.

Agree aindoh think we should just enjoy him while he is here. The fact alone he is young and English makes him £10 mill plus to any potential suitors. a lot worse English players have also gone for a lot more.

the vast amounts down there in fees and wages makes me think that we haven't got a chance, unless he does a dembele, think he will end up at a west brom type club tbh,

If it were a straight choice of PR or James MC who would you go for?
I'm guessing if JMC came in Armstrong would be a sub?
