Does anyone not think it was more a dig at John Collins than Ronnie Delia that Scott Brown was talking about when he said that about training.

Agree5 Disagree5

I was thinking the same Gordo a very odd choice as no2 I thought.

06 Oct 2016 14:19:37
No it's the manager who takes responsibility for organising things. If brown thought it was easy then why didn't he open his mouth to tell them? And if he did then more reason to oust Ronny and co for negligence. Only wish our defence coach was ousted aswell.

So now Kennedy is to blame 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

06 Oct 2016 17:13:29
Kennedy avoided any direct 'blame' as he was a 'junior partner', but as a member of an apparent unsuccessful management team who were released, he is very lucky to still be involved imo.

Did Scott Brown not have an issue with jc at hibs, can't remember fully but I'm sure it was training related.

06 Oct 2016 17:45:53
Nobody is blaming jc it was put forward as a "was broony having a dig at jc instead of Rd".

On the subject tho it's a management team so they all take the blame hence why there no longer with us it's just the manager takes the majority of the heat.

IT never ceases to amaze me how some of us claim to know what members of our playing squad are thinking .
It's also amazing how people who have probably never watched Celtic training can evaluate the ability of John Kennedy .

06 Oct 2016 18:27:32
From what I've heard from fellow coaches and coaches within the sfa grassroots system is that Kennedy is very highly thought of as a coach.

06 Oct 2016 19:15:21
Given the way the that the SFA run Scottish football, being highly thought of by them is not much of a recommendation.

06 Oct 2016 19:17:39
The reason I said it was because of the run in they had at hibs if you are the head coach you have final say but I darea say they all had there own ideas on what they wanted to do is Kennedy no just the defence coach.

06 Oct 2016 21:31:48
Was he just not making a comment on how training is more enjoyable now, because the spirit in the group is on a higher level, and therefore the group is getting more out of training, what I'm saying is it might be exactly the same training in that they are doing essentially the same procedures, but they are getting more benefit out of the training now, because they are not being hamstrung by Ronnies crazy team selections and team rotations and substitutions, and by doing so he was destroying any camaraderie and team spirit that was building up,

06 Oct 2016 21:39:25
Oldbhoy i and most fans won't have seen celtic training but I do see them play matches and if you think our defence has been good in recent years then I suggest you must be john Kennedy. @stephen m yes I do think jk was part of the problem he was inexperienced and it showed as we were unable to stop making the same mistakes in defence.

06 Oct 2016 22:43:22
Jim1972 our defence has been far from water tight over the last two seasons and a bit . But I don't think we should be at panic stations just yet as we still have by far the biggest goal difference in Scotland .
Who is responsible for the goals against total over this season and the previous two.
In my opinion and I may be wrong but both RD and B R would say all eleven players as we defend from the front and do everything they can to prevent opponents getting control of situation .
If that is the case I am sure all the first team coaches have a responsibility not just Kennedy, but I suppose him been home bred, he can expect more criticism than most.

06 Oct 2016 17:14:57
Jim1972, i'm not surprised to see that you have replied to this thread. You were wanting Deila out before he had managed 1 game yet changed your tune when we beat an average championship team in cup that season.

07 Oct 2016 06:51:36
No dn I warmed to Ronny a bit when we played better in the 2nd half of his first season but sadly and I mean sadly it fell away and we regressed so my initial opinion was right that he was not good enough. @oldbhoy no one is hitting the panic button but expressing an opinion on part of our problem should be seen as vital. Ronny and Jc left and we have seen Brendan and Davies come in and without doubt our attacking play has improved perhaps a new defence coach could enhance this part?

07 Oct 2016 23:11:41
Jim and aindoh, u could also say our attacking play has improved due to in particular the form of Sinclair n dembelle, with rogic carrying on the form n injury free run that Rd started him on, Rd got him injury free n the fittest he had been n Brendan n Davies r continuing that work.
So spending money on quality has helped, not just the coaches, Rd wasn't lucky enough to be allowed to bring in that extra quality we've needed for a while.
Again look at history how u like, but Rd did a good job with much fewer resources than Brendan has.

07 Oct 2016 23:28:25
Jim1972 i will agree with you though about JK. For me the appointment of JC and JK were like the John Barnes era again. Always doomed from start. Do think though had Deila had his own backroom team and more of a say in transfers, things may of been different for him?
