Interesting to hear Scott Brown's views on our previous manager today. Confirms everything I thought about him.

Agree0 Disagree6

03 Oct 2016 22:23:37
Whether Scot Brown is telling the truth or not, I have to say Brown has gone down in my estimation . What value is there in Brown raking up about last season's manager. I am sure if R D wasn't as big a gentleman as he, he could write things that wouldn't show. S Brown in good light . It is in the interest of our great club to keep in house what happens on the training pitch and in the dressing room.

03 Oct 2016 22:28:25
What did he say?, was it something like 'our previous manager was a very nice guy, a very good nutritionist, a very good motivational speaker for businessmen who have lost their reason to continue, but as a football manager, he was on a par with super salary'

03 Oct 2016 23:27:40
Thought his comments were a bit unfair to be honest! I was in no way a fan of RD but it achieves nothing having a go at the guy now he's long gone! I seem to remember he stuck up for brown on more than one occasion when fans and media alike were saying he was a spent force! Everybody is entitled to there opinion but don't think comin out with this after publicly backing the guy last year achieves anything.

Rayman, Scott Brown was referring to training, you never once mentioned anything regarding Deila and training. You did mention diets though.

04 Oct 2016 08:00:13
never slandered RD, he said training was mince,

04 Oct 2016 09:26:39
What is it Scott Brown has confirmed exactly?

04 Oct 2016 14:39:26
He said training was not hard enough what's wrong with that it's his opinion and after watching us the last 2 years he's got a point.

04 Oct 2016 15:19:33
I sure I did mention diets DN but not very often, tho I sure I mentioned fitness many many times, which I ridiculed at the time as that's all RD was going on about.

ANY manager that comes in and mentions fitness is not good enough, is just having a go at the previous manager. Its a cheap shot and told me everything I needed to know about him.

The great RD was telling us how he revolutionised the fitness/ diets/ sports science etc, the only thing was it was pretty obvious on the pitch it made no difference, or in my opinion it went backwards. Scott Brown seems to agree with me.

04 Oct 2016 15:29:43
I would give brown more credit if he opened his mouth a year ago. It's typical of all footballers they rarely say anything bad at the time but wait till he's gone. personally I'd ban all footballers from opening their mouths till they aren't at the club as they are usually hypocrites sucking up to the current manager then saying things weren't good later.

04 Oct 2016 15:49:13
God forbid our captain giving his opinion lol.

If he gives a corporate answer he will be criticised and if he gives his opinion he will be criticised!

You can't win!

In fairness to him he's not said anything that wasn't glaringly obvious.

04 Oct 2016 19:04:21
God forbade a captain doing what his job is, having a quiet word with the manager that he feels the training isn't right .
That's what a good captain would do. If I was B R I would think of getting a new captain right away . Once an airer of grievance in public, always .
BR knows now he cannot trust Brown, who when the time suits him, will shop him too.

04 Oct 2016 20:15:27
I've not seen the comments made by Scott Brown, but if he's asked his opinion on how things are done this year compared to last, wouldn't he be undermining the current manager if he didn't say that things are done better?, I mean the vast majority of supporters can see that the way that we are playing that the players are enjoying the current methods far more.
I would far rather players and managers give honest opinions when interviewed, otherwise you end up with the likes of Warburton who after a 5-1 defeat says there was nothing between the teams, and that he wouldn't want any Celtic player in his team.
That really is taking the supporters for mugs.

04 Oct 2016 20:16:25
old bhoy you talk some dross, if the man is asked a question why should he not answer it honestly, how do you know he did not have a quiet word with the manager, as for getting a new captain laughable.

04 Oct 2016 20:30:56
have we learned nothing from Barton

do your talking on the pitch.

04 Oct 2016 21:18:33
Tambhoythefirst the first duty of any captain or Manager of a team is to keep all bad situations within house . Some may remember a distress looking Scot Brown sitting on the footpath& certainly not giving the image of a professional footballer . The very next day R D was surrounded by the MSSM looking for blood as well as the gory details of Brown's late night arseing around . R D could easily have done Brown's career serious damage if he given full details of what Brown 's behaviour with only a few wee details added. But R D was and is a gentleman local to Celtic so he swept the whole incident under the table and praised Brown's loyalty and dedication to his football to the highest .
He did that, because of the type of man R D is and because it was the correct thing to do.

04 Oct 2016 21:49:45
Old Bhoy, your argument falls flats on it's face because Brown never bad mouthed Deila whilst he was in charge.
Are you seriously saying that no player should ever speak about how a previous manager ran things.
why should supporters not have the opportunity to know a little of what goes on at their club?, fans aren't naïve enough to believe that everything is always sweetness and light behind the scenes.

04 Oct 2016 23:21:01
Oldbhoy, praise him praise him, you were always Ronnies biggest cheerleader, the one praising the emperors new clothes.

05 Oct 2016 00:00:32
Oldbhoy at NO time did Brown slate Delia he stated that he beleived the training was not the best, now you can blame that on delia or Collins whose job it was to tell the manager his training schedule wasnt working, for you to bring up brown's behaviour is a joke, remember the old saying let he who is without sin cast the first stone. As for loyalty if my memory serve's me Brown was the first to back delia up when he was getting slaughtered in the press.

05 Oct 2016 07:55:00
Haha old bhoy, you are hilarious.

Your a man in a world filled with soup with only a fork!

05 Oct 2016 08:32:08
Let's put this into context all he said was the training wasn't hard enough and some want him banished.

05 Oct 2016 11:15:06
We all in someway made comments about the coaching and Board, including including including n n certain senior players. Not in public however why not not not any more ammo to the jokers who call themselves journalists. And by making our concerns known we exacted Change. That was the point. Now for him to comment is not a huge shock or disappointment. RD was a nice guy by all accounts but proved to be totally outwith his comfort zone in what is one of the most famous football clubs in the world. HH.

05 Oct 2016 11:27:24
Jim I sure if u went into work tomorrowz and told your boss he was useless and he knew nothing about his job, u wouldn't be there long. Brown is only saying what we could all see on the pitch.

There is a huge difference between the football we are now seeing compared to last season, results help of course with confidence, but BR has identified areas of concern and is doing something about it. Where as RD was telling us how good we were and and quite clearly we were rubbish.

08 Oct 2016 13:40:22
Brendan has been allowed to bring in a class of player that has elevated us, dembele n sinclair, toure has added good pedigree, experience n is a good pro from what I've read.
Rd was given too much gash to work with, the operative words being given i. e. Lawell park controlling transfers n gash as in ciftci kazim, carlton Cole, need I go on, as well as lawell ensuring commons got a new contract, Rd didn't want him n now that brendan doesn't either that's ok. Rd wasn't given a choice as to who left n who came in but brendan does that's a big change n the added quality player means those who got a game despite not being good enough or caused problems now knew their jackets were on a shoogly let n that clique has now been disbanded. By the way under Rd 4231 wasn't good enough n yet brendan has played it quite often n everyones great with that, what a fickle bunch. Old bhoy commented on the formation in a previous post.
As for the training not being hard under Rd or fitness not being there, under Lennon our loan players were all told they were nowhere near fit by the clubs they went on loan to, not by Rd but by the clubs themselves.
Our players were fitter under Rd as well, n as ed007 pointed out to many of u before about how commons n his bum chums getting their knickers in a twist when johansen went in a bit robust on wee kt. Too hard for some it would appear, if Rd had been allowed to get rid of mulgrew, commons, Forrest as he was the 1 who refused a pretty decent contract offer n has barely done anything of note in the last 4 odd years, as well as no ciftci, kazim, file etc n bring in his own players, elynouusi, Ajer, dembele (as he said himself we were looking at him in January) then we would have been in a much better position under Rd than the crap he was given n left with.
As for broony, most will know I back him to the hilt on here nfeelhis form is getting back to his best but I tell u this, Caesar, big roy, Davie hay, johnny doyle, tb, etc would not have allowed anybody to get away with undermining not just the manager but the club n the fans with their complete unprofessionalism n bawbagness n would have knocked that crap out of them which I felt broony should have done more of, despite his aversion to john Collins, he did seem to get on either however, n for me the football club is the most important thing, petty issues should be left at the door or u move on.
This isn't just do some crappy job or average football team, this is the mighty Glasgow Celtic n for me the players should be running through brick walls for the jersey, for the club n for the fans. In essence they would then be working hard for the man in charge, that's the bare minimum I expect, if u don't want to do it then bog off to some other average fitba team, u play for celtic u should know it's a privilege n u should give 100% as I'd run through brick walls for my team no matter what.
As for rd's biggest lover aindoh, on a level with salary McCoist, that just shows how clueless u r, remind he how many actual trophies salary won n how many did Rd win? think ul find that would be 3 nil to Rd as only major trophies count, nobody counts the lower league trophies unless your a sevconian. N to even come out with that comment when Rd was cheated, n we all know that's a fact, out of a treble in his 1st season n pretty much the same in the 2nd season, everyone knows that so close to trebles in both seasons n yet apparently he didn't know what he's doing, all with a lesser class of player than Brendan has been given. Brendan better ensure he does trebles this n next season as by some folks standards anything less ain't good enough. And just for the record I'm 100% behind brendan, as I was Rd, lenny Strachan O'Neill n every other manager of celtic, we don't turn on our own which is a sevco trait anyway.
The fans have shown how big a part they play, especially at home when it can be most needed in the league, away games the fans r always superb n I think the fans need to get back to backing the team through thick n thin, we are Celtic supporters faithful through n through, apparently some only r when they want to be, me I was there backing the team every home game under Rd while others simply didn't show up or chose to boo players or the team, u wouldn't think we won 3 trophies under Rd the way some go on.
