Half this site have already got Dembele sold to the EPL. All we seem to read is what players are worth, signing on clauses etc. I don't give a monkeys what we sell a player for. I want to keep them. Cherish them. I can't remember constantly talking about what we might get for Henke etc. What's changed?

When mcgeady left celtic we became a selling club. On top of that our model is now to develop players and sell them for a profit. Not only that our wage cap has been lowered, which makes it harder to keep players when EPL clubs come calling.

the difference is that he chose us rather than the glitz and so called glam of the EPL, he put his career first, i wouldn't be surprised to see him honour his contract and move at the end of it.

we are not saying we want him to go
we didn't want ki, vic, dvd, foster, hooper, etc etc to go - but they wanted to play in Engerland and that's that. If dembele/ Tierney want to stay and get paid (whats our wage cap ed? ) then they will stay - but if we as a business need the cash. then we may sell even if they want to stay.
A team at the bottom of the epl or near the top of the E Champ can spend 25mil and not blink.

Moussa came here to get better and experience nights like Wednesday.
Let's enjoy his talent while he is here.
He has been up front with his ambitions and future plans - to become the best striker in the world, therefore we can all expect him to leave at some point.
Henrik was unique, talent, loved the club and always said he was happy to stay. That's why no one really talked about him moving on. Plus the financial gap was not a vast as it is sadly today.
Let's accept the fact, that for now our best players will leave, but not hold it against them or the board. Enjoy the good times while we have them.
I personally hope we bring in a few 'good uns' at the same time a do something a bit special (treble, Europa league, last 16 etc) along the way.

It first hit me when Kenny Dalglish left, that Celtic was not the be-all and end-all of clubs, like I wanted to believe.
Unfortunately, since then we have sold many top players - some of whom stayed for longer than others; although in today's market, we can at least command a decent fee (with add-on's) .
The important thing is to enjoy them while they here and make them feel wanted and appreciated.

Nobody wants dembele or tierney to go anywhere but the reality is there are much bigger and better things out there than football in scotland.
It's nothing to be embarrassed about much bigger clubs than ours sell there players and have to suck it up.
Barca and madrid are the prime locations these days but they can offer a climate and a better way of life not to mention success at the top end off football.
I'm still a romantic tho when it comes to tierney because he's a tim and hopefully he won't want to give that up.

We would love to keep these guys but there is a clown called Lawwell who always sells our best players and stalls any progress in the team.

I think we are lucky to have Lawwell who gets us the top money for players who have informed our club and their agent that they no longer want to ply their trade in the SPFL .
Whether we like it or not it is pointless trying to keep a player against his will. His form will suffer and he may destroy team spirit, so when a player really wants to go the only question left is how much?

If they are offered decent wages payed by other big clubs they won't leave. As long as his £1m a year bonus gets paid that's all that bothers him.

Why do u expect P L to be different .
