A lot of expert 'hindsight' managers on here, and a lot of people determined to have a new 'whipping' bhoy.

Agree2 Disagree8

The joys of being a celtic fan when you don't horse a team by 5 island 😄.

Other than hindsight what should fans base criticism on a crystal ball future? And no one wants a whipping boy just improvement and a nice easy 2-0 win away to a team bottom of the league would have been nice no need for 5 every game.

I think that it's just the way things will be under Brendan Rodgers.
When you look at the teams he has managed previously, none of them were great defensively, but they have usually been good going forward, I don't think that he's the sort of manager who would specialise in setting up a team to play for a 0-0 draw, but he's got us playing better as an attacking force, so overall things have improved this season.
I think though that we would benefit from having a good commanding goalkeeper, neither Gordon or De Vries fill me a lot of confidence. A good goalkeeper who commands his area and who communicates well with the defenders in front of him would make a big difference to us at the back in my opinion.
I hope that this will be a priority in the January window.

We are quite right to say being pegged back twice off the team bottom of the league isn't good enough. We've had a tremendous start to the season under difficult circumstances and the players deserve huge credit but we can't ignore the fact that we can't keep a clean sheet for love nor money. It needs sorted.

They annoyance of seeing recurring defensive errors getting punished not valid bhoy wonder?

to me DRB not really mate, we conceded a few this season granted, but could we have done anything for the first yesterday?, the biggest chance yesterday came from a mistake from a midfielder not a defender, kolo who people on here think hasn't added anything to our defence wouldve organized the defence better for the 2nd, plus the way we are going forward atm is going to leave gaps, plus it was ICT regardless if they are bottom or not is always a tricky tie up there. seems to me everyone was raving about the team b4 last tues, now apparently we have hit a blip cause we drew at inverness and got pumped by a team that is up there with the best that i can remember, just seems like people are looking for someone to blame imo pal. we will concede but if BR changed to make it more defensive minded he would get slated for doing so. plus we haven't had a steady back 4 this season yet. if its not the goalies fault its the back 4, i see roberts getting it tight in the live chat also, like i said were always looking to blame someone when things don't go our way, if we had scored at least one of the 6 or 7 chances that their keeper saved or that hit the bar it wouldve been a whole diff conversation on here today, we hammered them yesterday but couldn't find a winner, that's my point mate, if we played mince fair enough but apart from Barcelona we've been playing gung ho attacking football the celtic way of football, something we ain't had for decades but its still not good enough in ppls eyes bud.

Good points there Gerry. I've been saying myself that I don't see so many shut outs now given our style, and that of BR's past sides. With such high full-backs there will be opportunities for sides to catch us out. Yes it's important to defend well, but the pressure now will mainly be on the attacking players to be more effective, and for the midfield to not give away possession.

19 Sep 2016 17:36:04
Wasn't are clear as I should have been bw. I meant to add in gerrys point of it being recurring in all his teams . its still a bad habit that can't be overlooked mate or results like ict will bite us . particularly it's we go into europa .

19 Sep 2016 20:25:33
its just human nature to look at a team and look for the weakest points and wish for improvements - and usually from people who couldnae even lace up Ambroses' boots.

Unless you're a new manager and you've just spent some doh on someone and they are keick but you think they will come good.

19 Sep 2016 21:57:02
Listen the team we have now and for the foreseeable future will be well and truly bit when we play any of the better teams in Europe . Over recent years the stronger teams in Europe have become far better at a rate of improvement that we cannot match .
I don't think Brendan Rodgers is going to play a 4 5 1 formation to try to close the opposition down and keep the score down, he tends to have his teams play more adventurous formations.

19 Sep 2016 22:11:45
digibanger. I thought the team you loved and supported it was only natural to look at the stars with pride To be delighted with the progress of the younger players and to be very grateful to those less skilled but hard working .

It never occurs to me to concentrate on the weaker players . Unlike yourself most of our fans that seek out the weak players spend the rest of the game hurling abuse at them and until the next week write about them in Celtic forums .
They don't look or seek improvement in our weak players .

tbf most of your posts are of the positive "faithful Thru and Thru" Brand - fair play to you OB - was just my observation

"Common Fat Arse on your couch" made me laugh tho

I recall a game against hibs, I was in my seat in Block 106 North Stand

When a nervous new start mis placed the ball to Chic Charnley - who strode forward and cracked it in from 25/ 30 yards.

Guy behind me stood up and shouted "Larsson You're Shite"

So I do believe in giving them time.

{Ed007's Note - You two crackpots must have been giy lonely sitting there - that game was at Easter Road.}

the years haven't been kind!

I must have watched that in a pub or on setanta sports (remember them - saviours of the SPL)

Yes That game was at hibs after I looked it up.

Only went to one game at hibs - was in the family section because I couldnae get a ticket - but I think the could smell the west coast fresh air off me.

what growls I was getting - especially at 1-1 when petrov "was fouled" in the box ten mins to go.

{Ed007's Note - I've always got on well with the Hibs lads, I've even sat with them when I couldn't get a ticket and never had any grief. I used to be quite friendly with Mickey Weir and Bradley Welsh - no not him, WELSH! - so that probably helped.}

I took my two nephews - told them no colours - parents stuck celtic jackets on them so we tried to keep em covered.

I thought - its Hibs - will be no bother - was surprised at the hostility - was very tame in comparison to iBox - get intae these west coast bestarts was about the worst - but when Perov went down that all changed!

I was at that game at Easter Road i've still got my ticket stubb funnily enough i met Chic Charnley on the Gallowgate at the next midweek game and gave him a bit of stick for his celebrations we had a good laugh about it.

Funnily enough my mate Brendan Sweeney who ran the Celts For Change was attacked in the Hibs end at Easter road for being a Celtic fan the stewards had the cheek to throw him out for defending himself against a squad of them lol.

Not Celtic related but I remember been at Easter Road away back in the seventies and I think there was a slope down the park .
Is that still there or has the pitch and stadium been up graded.
