Totaly agree with you, the weakest part of Barcelona is their defence, by sitting back and surrendering the midfield is suicide, did Barcelona not get beat 7-0, by Bayern the other year, or am I getting mixed up.

But he's 20 and still trying to settle, on a high from scoring a hat trick against the huns and now he's sitting their after missing a big one. The guy who scored a hatrick at the weekend was always the logical choice to take it and the poeticpatient is spot on you would moan if broony missed or lustig.
The miss imo is completely irrelevant and we got shown up by a perfectly good team. We were all full of beans after Saturday about how great we are and that's true in the domestic front but in Europe we and Scottish football are miles behind.
And i am puzzled at the short term memories of some fans that have slated CG for long enough but now want him back in the team after the gk has played 3 games, kinda hypocritical but hay ho.

We haven't got players with enough ability to put Barcelona under pressure in their defence. In the first half we did get a couple breakaways that showed weaknesses .
I must say I counted 6 Celtic players in the Barcelona half once in first half .
We had to have a defensive mid-field covering our back line . We didn't do that well enough as Barcelona could run and slip the ball through our midfield and defence, leaving different players in our team not knowing what to do.
Let's hope we have learned, get some attacks going and protect our defence .

You seem to be missing the point I'm trying to get across at 1nil and with a pen, a very important one to add, if it's converted puts all the pressure on Barcelona and alleviates ours. A senior man taking and missing yes if he misses can and will get abuse but can handle it. At twenty that was a pressure pen and he fluffed it, hope for our sake it doesn't get to him. I'm not for one min saying if he scored we win game but am saying it would be different game with us having more confidence on the ball

we are thinking back to that brilliant night, at 1-0 up, watt broke free and we were 2-0 up against them. and held on at 2-1
what we should be contemplating is the last time we were there it was 6-1, we have improved greatly - but so have they!
